Wonderful memories were made during our 4-day stay here. Our group of 11 had a last down on the lakefront by the campfire every night. We went hiking and fishing and even hired a pontoon for an excursion on the lake. We were picked up right at our dock! That was a real treat. And we too saw the jumping carp (although none landed in our boat). The weather was unseasonably warm, adding to our enjoyment of Lake Barkley and the BTL area. The home includes everything you could possibly want (except maybe a hot tub). Unfortunately, the gas fireplaces weren't working but since it was so warm, we didn't really miss them. The great room on the main floor is poorly lit, making reading for pleasure and doing crosswords a bit difficult, especially on cloudy days. We would definitely recommend this place to friends and we may even come back for another Thanksgiving visit. Thanks, Sue!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, people with disabilities.

Stayed in June of 2011 and had a wonderful time. Everything you would need was supplied the pictures do not even due the home justice. Very clean and well kept up. Plenty of parking for our family as well as great location to the marina. Look forward to visiting in the future. The owner was very accomodating to all of our questions, we would absolutely recommend the property.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

My family along with my brother & sisters families stayed at this lake house in August for our first family vacation. The pictures that the owner sent us were nice, but upon arrival we were blown away at how nice it was! We couldn't have asked for a better vacation home with such a huge open layout. There is plenty of room in this house and the downstairs was perfect for the kids (and adults!) to hang out and watch movies. The deep water dock was awesome for our ski boat and for fishing, as we caught a huge catfish one evening. Also, there is a perfect shallow spot to walk right in the water for the little kids to play in. The lake was excellent for skiing, extremely calm and glassy most all the time. The owner provided us with plenty of towels, and MANY other extras you would never even dream to find in a lake house rental. We will be revisiting this house for many years to come, loved it!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

I am posting this review somewhat late, because we stayed in this lake house during early August 2010. It was very large and welcoming, with amazing views. The lakefront was huge and provided plenty of space for boating, fishing, water-skiing and relaxing. The large yard gave plenty of space for our young kids to play. It was also very quiet and peaceful which we appreciated. The large downstairs of the house gave good space for watching movies or playing board games. Best of all, the owner (Sue Cook) was extremely accomodating and welcoming to our group. We look forward to returning in 2011!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: We purchased this property on Lake Barkley to be able to enjoy the serenity of this beautiful lake. Because we are not able to live there full time or visit as often as we would like at this time, we want to share it with others. I am a real estate appraiser, my wife is a retired teacher and our two daughters have given us three beautiful grandchildren.
Why the Owner Chose Cadiz:
We bought this particular home because the home next door belongs to family, a home a few lots away belong to family and my brother in law owns a luxury houseboat which is docked at the marina. (He is available for chartered excursions or sunset cruises!) This is a wonderful location to keep to yourself or enjoy the full spectrum of activities available at Land Between the Lakes and Barkley State Park.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Barkley State Park is across the Bay from this home. The large, gently sloping yard to the water makes it easy for everyone to get to the boat or dock. Easy wheelchair access is available to all parts of the home, yard and dock. The fully equipped kitchen has a pass through window to the covered deck for your cooking and eating pleasure. The formal dining room seats at least 8 and the informal dining seats 6. The plush furniture and panoramic views will have you forgetting all your cares during your stay here.
