This is an absolutely lovely place to spend your family vacation. The house itself is gorgeous with lots of space and plenty of separate sitting/living rooms, a lovely pool, great barbecue and a big fire pit that's perfect for late night gatherings and making s'mores! The location is perfect if you want to be away from the busy town of Hyannis but close enough to make use of all the fun activities. The local beaches are gorgeous and great for children. I can't recommend it enough. Our whole family loved it and they are a tough crowd to please.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you for your review. We want to make the house a comfortable spot to spend vacation days. I am delghted that we were able to please you.

This house exceeded our expectations for our family vacation. The home was comfortably cool despite the 90+ degrees, thanks to air-conditioning, and a fabulous pool! The cooler night breezes even allowed us to toast marshmallows and eat s'mores over the fire pit. Our elderly parents had a fantastic time as we celebrated our Mother's 80th birthday. The grounds are private, expansive and beautifully manicured. The proximity to beaches and access to private beaches (using accompanying beach pass) was a real treat and gave us the opportunity to explore the beautiful natural coastline. Above all, the owner's suggestions regarding activities, restaurants, and other cape amenities was extremely helpful. We would recommend this home to anyone looking for a peaceful location that is so close to any and all activities you desire. It is truly a home away from home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.
Owner response: That you for your review. I am so glad we were able to provide a relaxing spot fo you to enjoy a family celebration. It was wonderful to see you so at home on the Cape. We will keep trying to provide others with the chance for a similiar experience and hope we will see you again.

As a loyal VRBO customer, my family has vacationed in homes all over the world, from Paris to Taos to Aspen and many more. This is one of our favorites. The location is in a quiet neighborhood conveniently located to beaches, supermarkets, restaurants, and shopping. We spent our days exploring the Cape, fishing, shopping, boating... and our evenings grilling at the house and eating Smores at the fire pit. My two boys enjoyed the pool and watched late night Red Sox games in the cozy family room. The owner is delightful and will assist with any concerns. There is a cat on the premises, but you would never know it, except for the fact that the food you leave out has disappeared by morning. Not a concern what so ever! We will definitely return for another visit. Our favorite restaurant was Spankys and eating fried clams and steamers are a must !Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you for the lovely review. It is helpful for other travellers to know they can feel comfortable spending their vacation days in this home and in this location. It was a pleasure to welcome you and I look forward to your return.

About the owner: I have been vacationing on Cape Cod since I was five. Every time I cross the canal I think I am on vacation and tap into a series of pleasant snapshots of the stages of my life. Now my children are grown and I have moved here fulltime to create a differing scenario. My work has evolved into something that has accommodation for leisure and I am able to take advantage of life's opportunities in ways I couldn't with more rigid schedules. I have discovered crew and row a grueling spring to fall schedule. What a kick!
Why the Owner Chose Centerville:
Life on Cape Cod is a step back to a simpler time. You are no longer in the city and somehow there is always time for a good meal, a boat ride, a game of golf, a little fishing or a walk on the beach. No one hurries while they are here so get ready to relax and enjoy the ride. There is however always a little sparkle with celebrity performers, professional athletes, the rich and famous (Oprah & Stevie Wonder last year), the Kennedy's and of course a president or two.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This house has evolved over time and reflects my current interests and needs. I live here full time and make my home available on occasion to others who have similar likes. A love of food, adventurous cooking, good company, and leisurely meals have shaped the kitchen spaces. My love for France is found throughout the house and is particularly apparent in the cookware, herbs, and dinnerware. Quiet times and cozy places are everywhere. There are lots of private nooks and creature comforts built in for my own enjoyment. Water is everywhere and a wonderful addition to life. The dock, the canoe, the beautiful beaches, and the local lake all enrich the quality of life. Whether it is an invigorating swim, an evening picnic, a morning row, or a bedtime dip in the pool...water makes life richer. This fall the gunite pool was completely resurfaced in pebbletec for an elegant update. Next spring should be exciting for its initial opening. Maybe you will be here too.
