  My family just spent a week at this house and I can highly recommend it for a family vacation or for combined families. There are four bedrooms (one with four bunk beds in it) and two separate family rooms; both with great views of the mountains. The house was immaculate and beautifully furnished and there is a very relaxing deck with comfortable furniture to veg and watch the changing smoke patterns rising from the mountains. The view is incredible - a great place for morning coffee or an evening cocktail! The on-premise clubhouse is very clean with a pool, hot tub and work out room as well separate outdoor and indoor lounge areas (beautifully furnished/clean) with everything you need to eat a meal there while the kids play in the pool. We went three times and had it to ourselves. The access to Bear Lake Reserve and all of its amenities is another huge plus. It's only a ten minute drive to the club entrance from the house but there is a pretty curvy 5 mile road up to the clubhouse. But who cares? You're on vacation and it is very safe (17 mph posted speed) and a fun and scenic drive up. The staff at Bear Lake Reserve is mostly college-age students from the local Western Carolina University and they are well trained, well mannered and aim to please. One even volunteered to drive the winding road down to the entrance and back because we forgot our sunscreen. (He got a nice tip!). The pool is very scenic (and warm) overlooking the lake and there are all kinds of watercraft to rent from pontoons, wave runners, canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards. Better yet, you can drive to Laughing Trout Camp (another of the owner's amenities) which is also about ten minutes from the house and use the owner's pontoon boat to cruise over to Bear Lake Reserve (literally two minutes around the bend from the dock). If you're a golfer, don't miss the golf 9-houle Jack Nicklaus golf course which is about 2 miles from the main clubhouse and pool. But bring plenty of balls. We played 3 rounds and lost more than two dozen. But the views are so spectacular and the course is in such great shape we didn't care a bit. We've only been home two days and we're all in agreement that we definitely want to go back! You can't miss with this rental!

  We spent a whole week at this house. The house is beautiful, clean, and has a great view. We enjoyed the area as well. There is good trout fishing in the Tuckasegee, gem mining near Franklin, golf courses in the sapphire area, and the stunning Whitewhater falls. If you just want to relax, the clubhouse and pool is awesome.

  If you want quiet and beautiful views, then you will want to stay here at this vacation home. Me and my family stayed here during Spring Break. It is not your typical 80 degree weather during this time of the month. We woke up one morning to have SNOW. What a beautiful sight!. The waterfalls here in the Cashier's area are Amazing!! Thank you Andy for letting us stay at your home. It is all what the pictures that was provided on the vacation website. The views from the balcony of your home are Amazing. The Peace and Quiet was Surreal and well needed. We cannot wait to come back!! Many Thanks

  Beautiful home with amazing views and exceptionally clean! Andy was extremely pleasurable to work with....our family especially enjoyed the boating on Bear Lake and the nice accomodations there. We definitely plan to visit again and have told many friends about this great getaway!

• Incredible location for endurance training

  I rented Andy's place to use as the headquarters for a triathlon training camp during the 2nd week of October 2012. It was incredible! Very comfortable (I would say luxurious) living quarters and bedrooms, a fabulous kitchen with everything you need to cook great meals (important at training camp!), and a million dollar view. The cycling in the area is top notch, although not for the faint of heart. The Ring of Fire and Ring of Hades were our 2 most memorable rides, each of which lived up to its name and more. For swimming, we had a small lap pool (maybe 20 yds?) right on the property which worked great for short swims, a pool on the nearby campus for longer swims, and the lake amenity at Bear Lake for Open water (temp in the high 60's at that time of year). Overall wonderful experience. Thanks Andy!

  Met family here for a belated Christmas mid-January. We had such a blast. The house was beautiful and Andy was a fantastic host. We will defiantly be back.

  What an amazingly beautiful place to stay! I don't know what I loved more, the gorgeous home, stunning views out every window, or the super sweet family who let us capture memories there! The home was fully stocked with a chefs kitchen, plenty of linens, stacked wood and more. Not knowing anything about the area, I was worried it was too good to be true, but I definitly learned to trust in people....faith takes care of everything. I thank you A.S. and family....your kindness and hospitality was simply the best!!! Our Christmas was completely enjoyable and memorable for years to come!!! Can't wait to go back! <3

  So easy! Andy, the owner was very quick to respond to our questions and we quickly booked! No hidden costs or hassles. This house has EVERYTHING you need....supplied all linens, stocked kitchen, even the toilet paper was supplied. Such a beautiful view and a perfect house for our family. We would love to come again during the summer to go out on the boat. Beautiful views, amazing back porch and comfortable quarters. Thanks Andy. We look forward to returning!

  This is my second stay at Andy's home and as always, it was more perfect than the last. This house is close to everything but at the same time, tucked away on the side of the mountain giving you some pretty spectacular views from every window in the house. I like to leave the blinds open so when I wake up I get those amazing mountain views with the smoke swirling around the top. You want for nothing in this house, and any questions Andy is just a phone call away. He is as before, the most perfect helpful host. As I said before, listen to his directions and don't pay attention to the gps. You'll end up way off course..... Kitchen has everything you need to have the best dinners possible. Who needs a restaurant when you can enjoy the views from the porch with a glass of wine, fresh crisp air and all the comforts of home and great food. I have not and will not stay ANYWHERE else but at Andy's cabin. Its like a home away from home. The photos don't do this home justice. Everything is perfectly in place, very nicely decorated, clean and spacious and the fireflies come out at night. You can even hear the river from the porch. Thanks again for an amazing stay Andy. I can't wait to come back!!

  Every member of our family ages 70 to 3 enjoyed this lovely home. The home's convenient location allowed us to spend time in Cashiers/Highlands and also a train ride for the little one in Bryson City. The Sundrops development was excellent and it even had a playground that was perfect for the 3 year old. The house itself is tastefully decorated and had everything we needed for the long weekend. We especially enjoyed the stone fireplace on the porch as it allowed us to make smores! We have rented many different houses over the years and this one definitely stands out. We hope to return to this same house next fall!
