Our home is located on a three acre cul de sac between Hole 9 and 10 in the exclusive gated community of Taos Country Club. Each room in the house was designed and orientated to provide a unique vantage point to truly appreciate the best of Taos's unique landscape. The great room facing Taos Ski Valley was designed for entertainment in mind, family and friends will enjoy the 20 foot ceilings and extra large glass windows to take in the amazing views. Picture yourself starting your day gazing out over the rising sun or relaxing in the evening with a nice glass of wine as you rest by the fireplace taking it all in. The fully fitted kitchen will meet the standards of even the most discerning master chefs as we truly enjoy putting our culinary skills to practice.
Granite counter tops are featured throughout the house and the kitchen is no exception. It is fully loaded with the top of the line GE Profile appliances offering the best in contemporary design matched with the latest kitchen technologies. Every appliance displays a sleek, cosmopolitan and modern look that matches your every last taste in the kitchen and home. The kitchen is designed with a unique multi purpose center island that features a large contoured granite bar (with four bar stools) a prep area and built in office/desk work space with storage areas, drawers, Wi-Fi and a fax/scanner/printer. The dining area features custom designed steel table from Zog the colorful patterns are made from heat patterns by arc welders and encased in brilliant lacquer. The six matching chairs are so comfortable you'll be tempted to have one more glass of wine before retiring to the great room.
The great room has an extra large set of black leather sofas and chairs, situated around the fireplace and large screen TV, DVD/VCR with Dish Network(HBO/Showtime)and a state of the art Bose speaker system (also featured in the kitchen, master bedroom suite and master bathroom). Take a stroll down the hallway on the left wing of the house past one of the 3.5 bathrooms to the Master Suite wing. Relax in your huge Master Bedroom far away from the hustle and bustle of the kitchen and great room with your own fireplace, covered porch, built-in- entertainment set (Bose speakers, stereo, CD/DVD and Picture in Picture TV with Dish Network). The real treasure awaits you in the Master bathroom, a spacious twin top of the line Kohler brushed stainless steel sinks sunken in custom steel blue marble. The master bathroom is illuminated by a seven foot diameter dome skylight and sheds light onto the entrance of your own Swedish eight person dry sauna. Cast the water ladle over the hot coals to create a soothing eucalyptus steam, breathe deeply to relax after a hard day of skiing, golfing or just touring Taos. The walk in custom black mosaic tiled shower room is spacious and adjacent to your personal sunken indoor Jacuzzi tub with heat booster and jets that accommodates two adults. The walk in closet can accommodate the largest of wardrobes and has ample shelves and multiple hanging areas.
Take a stroll back down the hall way past the main entrance and you have a ground floor guest room, queen size bed with its own built in closet. Past the kitchen and dining area and you enter the hallway leading to the East wing of the house with its own full bathroom (safety hand rails on walls in the shower area for elderly, children etc) and ample storage areas and cabinets, ski/golf changing area with storage benches and your own private entrance and another large bedroom, queen size bed and closet.
However, to truly take in the dramatic views one must ascend the Italian wood and brass spiral stair case to really appreciate the beauty of the location. The split level loft looks down into the great room and simultaneously out to the mountains above the roof of the great room. On the south side you overlook the best of the golf course in this very spacious loft that can comfortably accommodate four people. The office is located on the west wing and has wood wrap around built in desk and cabinetry, Wi-Fi and adjacent half- bathroom and amazing views of Mt. Wheeler and the golf course. The office can also comfortably accommodate two further adults.
There is a sun-deck with railings that can be accessed through the office and a telescope provided for you star gazers.
We are sure that you will enjoy our Southwestern sanctuary as much as our family does each year. We reside in London, but our hearts are in Taos- once you visit our home you will understand why. The location is a microcosm of Taos, fantastic views of the mountains, the golf course, peace and tranquility with easy access to the famous Taos country Club, town and skiing.

I hesitate to write a review because I would rather others not find out about this gem. This was our second stay for six weeks in the home and we always enjoy ourselves. There is a large flat screen TV in the living room (a new addition) and bank of windows that all but opens the outdoors into the house. It was cold several mornings and evenings so we had great fires going. We love the kitchen because we are "foodies" and enjoy cooking....every imaginable appliance is available....many a morning coffee was enjoyed on the back patio. The owners are very accommodating and the house was very clean when we arrived. We will be returning next year to what we now refer to as "our Taos" home!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We have rented vacation homes in Taos for the past 8 years and have never been so disappointed as we were with casa Granada. When we arrived, we were welcomed by the caretaker to a beautiful home that was overflowing with the owners personal belongings and filth. The homes maintance man witnessed the condition and said that he was not surprised because the cleaner only spent less than an hour on this 4000 sq. ft. home. It had a wonderful fire pit, but no wood. It had a great gas grill, but no gas. The whirlpool tub was beautiful, yet it was broken. The TV in the bedroom did not work. We were falsely accussed of water damage and were denied our damage deposit. I would never consider this property again without careful examination. Renters beware.Did you find this review helpful? My family of 10 adults vacationed here for a week and we had a fabulous time! The house is absolutely gorgeous. The pictures on the website are nice but they certainly don't do it justice. The location was easy to get to, it is on the golf course so that made for some nice morning walks. Any direction you turn outside of this house is a beautiful mountain view. It is just minutes from Taos. The owners were wonderful to work with, and the property manager was available at all times by phone for any questions and could be at the house in 5 minutes if needed. My family really enjoyed the fire pit on the patio, and we spent most of our time all gathered in the kitchen, where there is a table for 6 and bar stools for 4. The kitchen was fully stocked with any cookware or utensils you would need for any cooking/ baking, plus lots of extras. The master bedroom/ master bathroom really is the most spectacular part of this home, and we certainly enjoyed the swedish sauna and jacuzzi tub. Highly recommend this vacation rental!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

About the owner: We have a passion for the outdoors, great skiing and an appreciation for the Arts. During the 90's each winter we traveled to a new destination in the world for a week of skiing and outdoor activity and we fell in love with Taos in the Winter of 2000. We came back that Spring, took a stroll around the golf course at sunset and chose our lot based on the incredible views and the secluded cul de sac location. We had a dream to build a home our family could enjoy over the generations with all the comforts of modern life, but ensuring everyone always felt welcomed and a place children and grandchildren could enjoy also.
Why the Owner Chose Taos:
What we treasure about Casa Granada is the warmth of the home and easy access to skiing, golf and the best of Taos. We still spend a bulk of our working lives in Europe, but try to maximize time in Taos whenever possible. Our home was designed to entertain and relax and we look forward to your arrival.

We also love art and our home is full of artwork from local artists, new European talent and American contemporary. Location: The end cul de sac on Hole 9 at Taos Country Club gated community; 2.5 miles from the San Francisco de Asis Church of Ansel Adams fame, and 3 miles from the south end of Taos. Approximately 7 miles from Taos Plaza and a straightforward drive about 20 miles to Taos Ski Valley. T here is a fast direct route from the Golf course which avoids going through Taos downtown - get you on the slopes in 35 minutes.Taos Ski Valley is also served by the Chili Line which runs daily and the closest stop is less than 4 miles from our house. Convenient to everything Taos has to offer whether it be fine dining, golfing out your door step, hiking by the Rio Grande or a mogul run down the slopes!
