The Creekside Chalet is a completely private and secluded log cabin where only the deer and turkeys will know you are home. Fully equipped for a long or short stay, this log cabin is your home away from home.
Gather a group of friends, a romantic partner, your family or just you and your dog and come, share the magic of the mountains with us. Here you will listen to the singing stream, the wind in the trees, in the winter the sounds of snow slowly drifting and piling up around you, but no traffic noises, no sirens, no phones to disturb your getaway.
But although you are far away from crowds and the hustle and bustle, you have a lifetime of things to do while here: bike the Virginia Creeper Trail; hike the Appalachian Trail; rent a pontoon boat to boat and fish on beautiful Watauga Lake; attend live theater at Barter, Heritage Hall or the Paramount; enjoy fine dining and even have pizza delivered.
So come, share the magic of the mountains where every season has a reason to visit.

I'm at the top of the mountain at the Iron Mountain Inn so I'm available 24/7.
Why the Owner Chose Butler
I had built the Iron Mountain Inn B&B atop the mountains, but many people wanted to bring children and dogs so I built the Creekside Chalet for them. It is also wheelchair and handicapped accessible so those members of the family who normally can't enjoy the out-of-doors can participate at the Chalet.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
Getaway, private, comfortable, on hiking trails. Everything is provided for your stay except the food you bring with you. There is a gas grill as well as fire ring (for s'mores), and the wrap around gated deck contains large dogs and small children while mom and dad loll in the hot tub under the stars!
The Creekside Chalet is centrally located to all the wonderful activities of 3 states: Tennessee, Virginia and Western North Carolina. Boone, NC is on one side of Butler and Damascus, VA is on the other. As well as being only about 10 minutes from beautiful unspoiled Watauga Lake!
Hunting (deer, bear, turkey), horseback riding (they bring the horses to you), swimming, hiking (sections of the Appalachian Trail are nearby) as well as the 2 mile hike right on the property, fishing (bass, trout and walleye), live theater (Barter Theatre), wonderful music and festivals all spring summer and fall and in the winter, we are not that far from the ski slopes of Beech Mountain.
Like so many others who've enjoyed our hospitality, you may decide to stay in "the quiet corner" of NE Tennessee - it's a great place to live. We call it a "little piece of paradise".
