A 4 bedroom, 3 bath townhouse that comfortably sleeps 10, in popular family-friendly Tower Shore, located some 3 miles north of Bethany Beach. Three of the bedrooms have private sitting areas and the fourth, the master bedroom, has its own open air deck. The first and second floor bedrooms have queens; the master bedroom, on the third floor, has a king; the “kids” bedroom, also on the third floor, has 4 twins (see pictures).
The 3 baths are located one to each floor; there is also a hot/cold water outside shower at the front of the house; and, a back patio for barbequing. There is parking for 3 cars.
The central living area, on the second floor, contains a living room; dining room; kitchen; and open air deck. (see pictures). The house is equipped with central air; W/D; 3 TV’s, one on each floor; 2 DVD players; an eclectic collection of books; a handful of children’s DVD’s; a variable amount of beach equipment---chairs, an umbrella, pails and shovels, a boogie board, etc. Linens are available at extra cost.
The kitchen has a stove with full oven; dishwasher; refrigerator/freezer; microwave; pots and pans; coffee pot; toaster; blender; two sets of dishes and flatware; etc.
Tower Shore is one of the loveliest private beaches on the DE shore, located adjacent to 2 plus miles of a DE maintained park, popular for surf fishing; the park has a public beach at it far end, at the Indian River Inlet. The inlet has a marina with services for deep water fishing and excursions of the nearby bays and marsh lands. The Bethany Beach area is replete with major food stores; restaurants of all types, including a popular fish restaurant at the end of our street; golfing, Bear Trap Dunes---one of Delmarva’s finest---is a 10 minute drive; etc. The town of Bethany even maintains a unexpectedly complete library.
Tower Shore and Sea Birds is a vacationers dream (see the reviews of our previous renters). Don’t forget September/October---DE’s best months.

My family has been vacationing at the same home in Rehoboth for over 30 years. When that home was sold and the new owners decided not to rent, we found "Steps from the Beach" Our experience at this property was Positive. The location - superb. A quiet street between Bethany and Dewey and within steps to the Beach! The accommodations were perfect for our 3 families - each family had their own bedroom and bathroom and the children had their own space in the upstairs room and all 4 of them had their own beds! The property itself is a little dated and the kitchen utensils and supplies are not "like home"; however, we were able to make most of our meals in after a quick trip to the store for a can opener, spatula and foil pans. The furnishings were not cushy or high-end as pictured in other rentals but the value of this property compared to others made these small inconveniences irrelevant -- this is the perfect "Beach" house! Mr. McCoy was very easy to work with, he was very responsive and although we did not meet him personally, I would highly recommend. We hope to make "steps from the Beach" our family home for one week for the next 30 years!
Recommended for:Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The townhouse was just as described - in fact, it was even larger than we'd expected. We had two families with kids (10 people total) and had plenty of room for everyone. The location was perfect for kids because it's quiet, there's no busy streets to cross, and the beach wasn't crowded at all. I would definitely recommend this townhouse to anybody.

"Steps from the Beach" is a wonderful townhouse! There is plenty of room. Everyone has their own space. It's very convenient to the beach. It's a short walk to the beach that's never too crowded. There's plenty of parking for this townhouse. Tower Shores is a great "neighborhood" for a family vacation. This townhouse is like a home away from home. It is equipped with everything you need. A vacation here is a true pleasure!!

We found this location for a last minute four day weekend, and were delighted by it. the townhouse itself was extremely well taken care of and clean upon arrival. It was decently furnished, not loaded with clutter like I have seen in other vacation rentals. Walking to the beach was quick, and the entire street seemed to be filled with people that knew each other. the beach was beautifuI, and even though it was a holiday weekend it was not in the least bit crowded. Mr. and Mrs. Mccoy were probably the sweetest most accomodating people I have ever met. I was very happy with the experience and will be coming back for the week hopefully next year.

Four years ago, I combed through websites to find a nice vacation home in a safe and convenient area for our extended family of 10 people and stumbled upon John and Kathleen’s beachside rental. Ever since our first visit there that year, we have come every summer and will continue to come back for more. The townhouse could not be more conveniently located. Approximately 20 steps away from the front door is the private, family-oriented sector of Bethany Beach. The beach itself is kept very clean and is very safe. The neighborhood that this townhouse is in is also extremely safe, charming, and friendly. There are three color cable TVs, internet access, and a collection of board games and books. However, if you decide you want to go out that night, there are many options that are readily available by car. If you wanted to go stay close and go to the main portion of Bethany Beach, where the boardwalk is located, it is only a 5 minute drive. The Rehoboth Boardwalk is a 15 minute drive away and the popular Ocean City boardwalk takes only 30 minutes to get to. And for those who love to shop, the Tanger Outlet Malls are also 15 minutes away. At first glance the house only has four beds, but it can comfortably accommodate 10 people because there are so many pull-out beds that make the setup very multi-functional while not too cluttered. Another great feature of this house is the private outdoor-shower. Coming back from the beach, you can wash off all the sand in the shower and keep it out of the house. Immediately when you enter, there is also a conveniently-located laundry machine so that you can drop off any sandy clothes, and keep that sand from traveling upstairs. However, if you find yourself leaving sand all over the floors, it’s okay because John and Kathleen do an impeccable job of keeping the house well maintained. Between rentals, cleaners come to ensure that each guest is in a clean environment. The renters themselves are very friendly and are extremely accessible. You can call them or email them, and they will be happy to accommodate your vacation needs. Thanks John and Kathleen for a great vacation home! If anyone I know is looking for a rental home in this area, I’ll definitely recommend your place to them. -- Minh
