This is a beautiful little cabin with the Pisgah Forest behind it. The cabin was well-furnished and very comfortable. It is perfect for two to three people. You cannot see the mountains from the cabin because of trees but you can hear the stream behind the house. There is hiking and the Blue Ridge Parkway nearby. Cell phones do not work at the cabin but we did have internet service. Television channels were limited but I was not there to watch TV.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My hubby and I had an amazing time in N.C. because we had a "home" to come back to after our days of adventure. Everything was provided and space was ample for 2 seniors. The caretaker Beth was a delight and so helpful! So close to God's creation and a peaceful retreat from a hectic, noisy world. Will definatly be back! Thanks Janean and John for loaning us your little piece of heaven. Blessings......Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Nice little cabin at base of Mt. Pisgah, just off the highway up Mt. Pisgah. Well-stocked kitchen and cozy surroundings. Seems perfect for a small family. We were visiting Asheville area for 1st time, taking a 28th Anniversary trip. This cabin seemed to be a good location for exploring Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, some hiking trails, the Biltmore, etc. The master bedroom is up on the "2nd floor" in the top of the A-frame. I'm 6'4", but just about any adult will have to stay low to the ground to get in/out of bed. Under-10 kids will love the little nook that is at the other end of the 2nd floor walkway that connects the nook w/ the master bedroom. There is a 2nd bedroom downstairs that the adults could stay in, if climbing the staircase and hunkerin' down doesn't sound fun. This place is not really a lone cabin in the woods, as the picture might suggest. The owner was clear about this when I asked, prior to committing: Q: I see in the Rules & Regs that "The cabin is located in a residential neighborhood". I had the impression from the description/photos that this is a pretty secluded cabin. How many and how close are your neighbors in the neighborhood? Ans: The cabin is located on a narrow, dead-end dirt road. There are about 7 other houses in the area. The next-door houses on either side of the cabin are visible, but with trees and rhododendrons between. Across the road is wooded, beyond the woods is a clearing with a mobile home set way back. Behind the house is 80,000 acres of Pisgah National Forest.Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing.

What a beautiful and serene cabin. Well appointed, cozy and inviting for a very relaxing week. Location, location, location... so close to everything yet so secluded you feel like you are tucked away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life... in God's peaceful mountains. We can't say enough about Beth, her bright smile and welcoming and friendly personality. We have always loved the Mt. Pisgah area, and were so happy to see that Creekstone Cabin lay at the foot of the mountain only a 4 mile trek by car to the Parkway. Being from "flat, straight-away" Florida, we love driving up and over and around these mountains. The cabin is so cozy, comfortable and inviting. It was cool enough most evenings to leave the windows open and fall asleep to the sound of the creek. We even saw fireflies (which we have not seen in years!)Did you find this review helpful? We have really enjoyed our time at Creekstone! We've been hiking mainly. We did the "Graveyard Fields" on Saturday, then on Sunday the "Devil's Courthouse" and the "Richland-Balsam Trail." In the interim, we saw other waterfalls and forests. The weather has been excellent! Even though we live in the city of Asheville, we feel like we're hundreds of miles away. The cabin is so adorable and perfect. It is so well furnished with everything we needed for a great weekend away. We only wish it had been cooler so we could have fired up the wood stove! Thanks and best wishes!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We were welcomed to the cabin by a friendly neighbor dog. While the cabin has nearby neighbors, we only saw one place across the road where people appeared to be coming and going, so we felt it to be very private and comfortable. Since it was just the two of us, we slept in the downstairs bedroom and only ventured part way up the spiral stairs to peak at the loft area. We cracked open the window each night to hear the sounds of the babbling brook just steps away from the cabin. While there were a few items (very minor!) that need attention, for the most part the cabin was everything we could have expected and wanted, and we very much enjoyed our time. We will recommend this cabin to our friends, and would definitely consider coming back next time we visit the area. It was a very romantic get-away! Right outside the Pisgah Mountains and easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Asheville. Owners were most helpful in directing us to local restaurants and computer repair (via email). Interestingly, our cell phones did not work (had to drive three miles away to get service), but internet access and limited TV worked great.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Thank you for your welcome, Beth and, yes I'd like to come back and see the spring trillium with you. The variety of plant and people here is amazing and exotic and the peace saved for these New Yorkers! Sitting at the end of the bed watching the moonlight dapple... P.S. Mama described the cabin to us from what she had read on the website but it surpassed what we were expecting. It truly is cozy, even in this July heat. We thought we would fall asleep to the sound of the creek each night, however the cicadas were really loud this weekend. Who knew that an insect that only comes out every so many years would make such a racket (ruckus.) Really liked how the cabin is simply decorated. Others we have stayed in have been much too busy. We really enjoyed breakfast this morning. We cooked eggs, sausage and grits and ate under the umbrella on the deck. We had three generations of women here this weekend and the cabin met all our needs except we fought over who would sit on the cozy couch. Luckily Granny is not a complainer and she sat on the antique couch the most. We found the closest access to the [Blue Ridge] Parkway and little too treacherous for us inexperienced mountain drivers. We ventured as far as Bryson City to see a relative. Our favorite overlook was between Waynesville & Cherokee (sorta) at the Water Rock Knob Visitor's Center. We walked up the extremely steep trail to the overlook but found the view from the parking lot much more impressive. Most of the overlooks have really become overgrown. Walked downtown Waynesville, stopped in a little coffee shop with some really delicious and thick cake layers. Yum! Did not get to do as much this trip as we have others, enjoyed talking with a Mr. Wayne Carsen at the visitor's center in Canton. He was very informative about the history of the area. Creekstone Cabin was the perfect place to call home while we explored this party of the Smoky Mountains. Enjoyed exploring Highway 215 and NC 276, finding waterfalls and scenery. the last day here joined by three dogs on our morning walk through the 'hood. Nice trail up behind house to creek...Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a lovely visit at your cute cabin. We spent two days with Pura Vista Adventures rock climbing, repelling, white water rafting, canyon-eering and basically having a phenomenal time. We also had a few nice visits into Asheville. We ate at the most delicious Caribbean restaurant "Simma Down" on Market Street (I would TOTALLY recommend it.) We also spent time playing Rummycube and listening to music. The beds were super comfy, it was lovely falling asleep to the sound of the creek. Everything was spectacular. The only suggest we would have is a little more light by the dining table. Thank you for everything. We had a lovely visit.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

July 6th: Full green trees swaying their leaves in the soft summer breeze, birds galore singing their summer songs, the refreshing sound of the babbling brook (creek) out back... all make for a serene, relaxing afternoon after a long drive from HOT FLORIDA... but nothing will compare with our "happy hour visitor" on your deck... now I can say that I have witnessed the rare beauty of a hummingbird :) I look forward to what we will experience in the cabin's garden tomorrow. July 7th: The hummingbird brought a friend and had an all out assault on the jays... quite amusing. Great to come back and unwind, because after all the mountain roads, you really are unwinding :) July 8th: After another great day of rafting and "gem" mining we found your kitchen well equipped to prepare a nice homemade dinner. The cabin is great and we aren't ready to leave tomorrow :( July 9th: The cabin was the perfect getaway. We only wished we had reserved more days! Next time we hope to book a full week! Thanks so much.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

FROM CABIN GUESTBOOK: Beautiful! Simply beautiful! What a great way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We couldn't have been happier and everything more than exceeded our expectations. The cabin is perfect, the colors were breathtaking and everyone was so nice. After making it all the way to the TN/NC state border we were detoured due to a rockslide a few miles ahead of us. It added another 1.5 hours to our trip but it was well worth the drive on I-26. On Monday we woke up to watch the sunrise on the Blue Ridge Parkway. As the fog rolled across the beautiful blue ridge mountains we stood amazed at what stood before us. Later in the morning we set out to hike 9 miles and still couldn't believe all of the amazing sights we were seeing. On Tuesday it was overcast and a bit rainy so we decided to explore more of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the area. Even in the dreary weather it was awe inspiring. We went out on an adventure and took the "long" way to Asheville. Asheville was beautiful but after twining on my Blackberry to find 55 emails and 11 voicemails I quickly decided that I would much rather be back in the comforts of the Creekstone Cabin. We loved every minute of this trip. Memories will include sitting on the porch eating breakfast among the smells and sounds of fall; listening to the brook babble as we fell asleep; laughing as we decide if black bears would be interested in the gum left in the car; and relaxing around such beauty. Beth is so sweet, Jeanine was so gracious and I hope to come back soon. Thanks for everything.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family and I rented the cabin with the intention of "GETTING AWAY FROM IT ALL", and we did exactly that. The cabin is located on the edge of Pisgah National Forest. If you take the road around the corner to the top of the mountain you find the Blue Ridge Parkway. Nine miles from there, or so there are waterfalls, and a sliding rock. Families with children this is a perfect spot to go back to nature. We hiked the trail just feet from the driveway to the top of a mountain for a wonderful view. All the people are friendly, which was great after being in a city atmosphere for so long. We liked the area so much that I am trying to talk my husband into finding our own vacation home there. Wonderful, Thank You.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

FROM CABIN GUESTBOOK: We enjoyed our time here so very much. The cabin is picture perfect! Whether you are gathered around the table or laying in the loft listening to the creek and other sounds of nature, you are sure to notice the clear air and the feeling of peace around you. Beth was such an asset to you. She made us feel welcome and was available when/if needed. Delightful! We took her advice and took the most beautiful (and curvy!!) route to the Blue Ridge Parkway and then followed it back to Asheville. Another delightful experience. One of many. We will definitely be returning in the future.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
