We found this cabin through VRBO. We had been looking for a place to meet dear friends who live in TN to celebrate our 40th anniversary and had decided on Helen months before. The cabin seemed perfect for two couples. Well, when we arrived we were very impressed and everything was even better than we'd ever expected. This cabin was everything we were looking for! Skip made the booking easy. The step by step arrival instructions were easy. It was soooooo cozy. Our daughter had a great time and didn't get homesick, she enjoyed her own little closed off area. We spent a lot of time in the cabin. Liked to walk by the creek. Loved the hot tub. Even our son (the dog) liked to hang on the back patio. His other favorite place was in his bed right in front of the fireplace which I used as much as possible. I really enjoyed the wine with the fireplace and the light up house!!! It was close to town. It had all of the ammenities that we needed, even some cooking spices!! I couldn't have asked for a better getaway spot. I am so looking forward to visiting again.

Great time at Gazebo Creek

We really enjoyed our stay at Gazebo Creek. The property has so much room out back, with a great deck, gazebo, swing by the creek...etc. So much more space to run around and explore than your typical mountain cabin, making it a great place to go with kids. It also had a great view of Tray Mountain...beautiful in the afternoon as the sun is going down. Our son loved playing in the creek, and we all enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. We appreciated the fact that the cabin was so close to Unicoi State Park, as we were able to hike a lot of the trails there. Skip was very nice to work with, and the process of reserving the cabin was a breeze.

First off I would like to say that the photos do not lie, the cabin is great. It is extremely well appointed and well supplied. Skip is very cordial and helpful and he will provide you excellent directions as well as helpful hints regarding the cabin itelf. And the nicest touch, you will find a bottle of wine waiting for you! We took our 7 month old yellow lab. This was her first 'vacation' and she adjusted nicely. Be sure to visit the bakery (Hofer's)...pretzel rolls and bread pudding are my favs., and Paul's Steakhouse for the prime rib. We will go back, probably in the spring. My friends and I had an enjoyable (and affordable!) weekend in Helen to celebrate a wedding in Unicoi State Park, which was literally right next door! The hot tub and patio were our favorite part. Pet friendly was a definite plus. We especially enjoyed the complimentary bottle of local wine. The listing is spot-on and the owners are very helpful. The cabin features wi-fi, security system, and TV. I would definitely consider staying here again!

My friends and I had a great time staying at Gazebo Creek cabin 10/6-10/10. There were 3 couples that went together and there was plenty of room in the cabin. We go to Helen every year for Oktoberfest and have a great time. Gazebo Creek cabin was the perfect distance from downtown and was extremely easy to get to. It was secluded and tucked into the perfect spot. We enjoyed the evenings in town and the mornings at the cabin eating breakfast outside at the gazebo. Everything was clean and tidy. Great stay at Gazebo Creek

My family just spent two nights at Gazebo Creek for Oktoberfest! The location was perfect... a few miles out of town and you're there. The cabin is quaint and cozy and the owner's description is accurate. We had 5 adults, 1 four year old and an infant and we were very comfortable. Nice showers with plenty of hot water, we never experienced any problems with any of the household furnishings or appliances. We loved the hot tub and the swing by the creek. We enjoyed the cabin so much, we decided to stay there and relax and play games, instead of going to the Festhalle for the Oktoberfest! We would defintely recommend this cabin. The wine was a nice courtesy also. Hope to return soon.

Great Escape

My family of four had a great two night stay here. Cabin is very conveniently located close to the main highway, although if you use Garmin like we did you will instead drive on a scenic one lane curved dirt road. The cabin was clean and comfortable. My family enjoyed soaking in the hot tub. Scenery was gorgeous. We also recommend driving to Anna Ruby falls and hiking the half mile trail to the falls. Very quiet and relaxing trip!

My daughter and I along with our mixed breed dalmation spent a most enjoyable week at the cabin.It was the most well equipped rental we have ever stayed in -everything you can imagine was provided!! the location was ideal-close to nearby attractions, but in a woodsy setting that ensured complete privacy. We enjoyed it so much we plan to rent it again this coming fall.A highlight of the week was a visit by a baby bear, attempting to raid the garbage cans( he didn.t suceed as our dog scared him off before we could get a picture).We recommend it highly!!

Nice place. Secluded. Well maintained. Low water pressure in one bathroom and lack of enough hot water with two couples. We did get by ok and I would recommend it, though. We did experience a bear getting into the trash two nights.

Probably to many taking shower to close together and drained tank as the hot water heater is in good shape. No one has had that problem before or after. Took my mother and father here as a little get away from the 'low land heat'. The cabin was adorable and Skip was so informative and helpful. It is an easy and convenient drive to Helen, but also fun, scenic drive to many surrounding areas. Since my Dad doesn't like to do a lot of walking we drove to many area cities, lakes and falls. Absolutely beautiful. Perfect place for us. Enjoyed the jacuzzi AND appreciated the instruction for lights going out in storm. Happened one early evening and just made the evening so special lighting the lanterns and fireplace. Lights were only out an hour or two but so fun! Recommend pretending the lights go out... great atmosphere! Also, fun board games and videos are supplied. We brought some but really didn't need to. Thanks for a great get away!!! oh, one more thing...the buffet at the State Park restaurant is fabulous home cooking!! Atmosphere..so, so, but wonderful food. We did lunch one day and breakfast the day before we left.

We just returned from a wonderful stay at your cabin! What a little piece of Heaven! The cabin was adorable and my favorite thing to do was sit in the swing by the creek! We came for an event in Helen but actually enjoyed our time at the cabin better. Having 2 king beds was perfect for us, since our son and his wife joined us. The hot tub was a bonus, too! April 2011 Stay

My wife and I stayed for 3 days at the end of April. The cabin was clean, well equiped and conveniently located just north of Helen. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the secluded hot tub. We had a great time hiking the various parks in the area. We will definitely plan on staying there again.

Perfect Getaway

Thank you for providing a clean, lovely cabin that allowed us to bring our dogs. The deck with the gate and the large, wooded back yard were perfect for the dogs. They loved just lounging on the deck and running off leash around the yard and down through the creek. We used the second bedroom to set up their crates and they were happily crated whenever we left them behind. We enjoyed all the amenties including the gas grill, the fireplace, hot tub, and the outdoor seating areas. The weather happened to be perfect for our weekend. We browsed the shops in Helen, hiked a trail at the State Park and discovered a good breakfast buffet at the Unicoi Lodge. We tried to visit the Alpaca Farm in the neighborhood, but it appears they closed up. As a final note, the king bed was very comfortable!! Thanks again! John & Debi

I always feel like renting online can be a gamble. I'm always worried the pictures aren't up to date, or deceiving. But from the moment we pulled up and saw the lights left on for us and christmas lights on outside we knew we wouldn't be disappointed. And we weren't. The pictures didn't even do this beautiful home justice. It's cozy without being cluttered or dirty. The fireplace was wonderful. I can't explain how perfect waking up in the morning was with coffee out in the gazebo, and ending it with relaxing in the hot tub. Even though we wanted to stay longer, after four wonderful nights and five days we returned home really completely and totally rested. We can't wait to return. Thank you so much for sharing this perfect little getaway with us.

Wonderful Cabin

I just returned from spending Christmas at Gazebo Creek. It was wonderful. I've rented many house and cabins through VRBO and we were provided for the best a Gazebo Creek than any other place we had rented. We've arrived at another house with three bathrooms to find one roll of toilet paper and it was midnight. This house had enough of everything for our whole stay. It's a beautiful wooded lot. The beds were very comfortable, which is very important to me. We had a great time and the house was decorated for Christmas which made it even more wonderful. I'm coming back next year for Christmas, also. I, also, love Helen and the food is wonderful at the restaurants in town.

My husband, 15 month old son, and I (and our two dogs) rented Gazebo Creek for a weekend at the beginning of December. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had made the right decision in booking the cabin. Everything was extremely comfortable- and I was 8 months pregnant when we stayed! The front porch light was on and there were Christmas lights and to top it all off, there was a slight snow flurry. We felt as if we were staying at an old friend's house...everything had been thought of. I loved watching our dogs run and explore (they just came in to get warm and then went back out again) and while our son was taking a nap, we even went on a little hike with them. We can't wait to take our family back- this time with another little one in tow- and we hope Gazebo Creek can be a tradition of sorts for years to come!

Our Labor Day Stay

Stayed 4 nights right before Labor Day and this is our second stay at Gazebo Creek! Great little cabin in the woods with tons of privacy unlike other cabins and hotels in the area. We found a little zip line place less than 10 min from the cabin and had a blast. Beautiful by the creek in the morning with mountain views and the hot tub is a great way to unwind!

50th Wedding Anniversary (10 day stay)

The listing description of cabin location was accurate and although the area was very private it was easy to find. The photos of the rental were very accurate and we found all the amenities above and beyond want was promised, leaving little for us to do but stock the refrigerator. Our stay was delightful except for one problem,my wife has a lung condition which makes her extremely sensative to dust and there was a plethora of dust clinging to mini blinds, wall wreaths, and shelfs with knicknacks.(areas that take extra time to attend to). However being an x-military family we rolled up our sleeves and rectified the situation with the cleaning materials provided. Thereafter it was an excellent stay. The property owner and his maintenance staff were very efficient and helptul and only one phone call away. I have already recommended the property to friends and relatives and look forward to staying there again in the future. By the way Skip, if Larry found a man's Sterling Silver fraternity ring (probably in hot tub) I;ll pay the postage to get it back

Magical Mountain Cabin

In August (I'm a little late with my review), I came to my favorite north GA cabin for the third time and, as always, enjoyed the peace and solitude, the wooded setting, the cozy decor, and all the little 'extra' touches that make this enchanted mountain cabin special. Our 14-year-old granddaughter and her friend have not stopped talking about the 'amazing' hot tub, and they loved having their own area (and I enjoyed having mine, too)! Our 10-year-old grandson asked me just this weekend when he was going to get to go back to 'the cabin,' because he really liked the creek! I am hard to please, so when I say that I looked no farther after staying at Gazebo Creek, that's really saying something! Thanks again, Skip!

From the moment we stepped into this cabin we felt at home. It was clean, cozy & comfortable. My husband, kids & I enjoyed soaking in the hot tub after fun-filled days of shopping, dining, tubing down the Chattahoochee, & hiking to Anna Ruby Falls. Since it was a busy, crowded July 4th weekend we often looked forward to returning to our peaceful haven. One of the nicest cabins we have ever rented! Cozy and very clean, secluded yet close to everything. It made for a great Thanksgiving weekend. Would definitely recommend to others and hope to come back in the future.

Skip and Jean, Gazebo Creek was such a wonderful find. The cabin was so comfortable after a long hike and the fact its pet friendly, A+. The wine was a welcome sight upon our arrival and was very nice. Being so close to Unicoi was an absolute bonus. Thanks again and we most certainly will stay again when our travels take us that way. Skip, Thank you so much for allowing to stay in your cabin over the weekend. The cabin was all that we had hoped for...secluded yet close to the Helen strip and Unicoie Park...very warm and cozy...perfect size. We had cabin fever most the weekend since it was raining and we LOVED every minute of it! Next time we decide to have a Mountain weekend...we will definitely be looking up Gazebo Creek's availability. Also, the bottle of wine you guys left for us was thoughtful and very tastey! Skip & Jean, Thank you for allowing my best friend and I to stay in your cabin. It gave us the opportunity to catch up on lost time. We had not seen each other in nearly a year. The cabin was everything we expected and more. We were able to enjoy walking our dogs. The town of Helen was nice and we enjoyed Anna Ruby Falls. Enjoyed dinner at the Hoffbrau for my birthday. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet retreat away from all the stress of everyday life. Can't get any better. Again thank you.

Skip, We loved the cabin, so cozy and friendly.The town of Helen was only a few minuutes down the road and after a fun day in town the hot tub sure was great to relax in. My lady friend and I thouroughly enjoyed our stay from August 6 to 9. Everything turned out to be as advertised. We made especially good use of the hot tub. Thanks to the seclusion, skinny-dipping is recommended. Not for the faint-of-heart, of course. Nearby Helen offers some great restaurants for all meals except breakfast. The only decent full breakfast to be had was at the Unicoi Lodge which is very close to the cabin.

We had a great time at the Cabin over the Labor Day week-end. We enjoyed walking around Helen, going to the parks and falls and doing hiking. We also went golfing a couple days which Innsbrook was a real chalenge but very beautiful. We especially enjoyed the Cabin and playing games in the evening. It was great and we will probably come back again. Your Cabin is close to a lot of places. You have it decorated very nice.

We had the pleasure of visiting in the cabin in August. We met my brother and his wife there for our first family get together since we lost our Mother. We had a great time just hanging out and wandering around Helen. The cabin is the perfect place to get together and talk about all the things going on in our lives. We had such a good time we have booked a long weekend in December to share Christmas. Thank you for sharing this hidden gem with us.

Skip and Jean My mother is 87 years old and this was a time for me and my three sisters to spend some time with her while we still can. We did go into Helen but we spent most of our time at the cabin reliving the past. Your cabin was perfect, it was dark when we got there and a light was on inside, the hot tub was already reset for us, we loved al the home interior as we all have some of the same in or homes, the beds were very great as we all are over 60 and no one woke with any back pain. We picked the perfect place for our time with mother and she loved it. The only thing you had not told us was that the driveway makes a sharp downhill turn and with it being dark we almost went into the woods which is something you might want to think about puting on that wonderful list with all the info we needed for when we first arived. WE LOVED THE CABIN AND HAD A WONDERFUL TIME. THE PRICE WAS ALSO GREAT. THANKS SO MUCH. Thanks again Martha-Ormond Beach Fl

Went to "the Cabin" for a Girls Weekend back in June. The2nd Annual Georgia Wine Growers Association Wine Festival at nearby Blackstock Winery was the place to be. We had a wonderful time, and the HotTub was the perfect way to relax after a hectic day of wine tasting. Cabin was very neat, and as welcoming as always! Thanks Again! We had a great time even if it did rain. It was really wonderful to hike in the rain.The cabin had all the comforts of home and the hot tub was just what the doctor ordered after a long days hike. It really soothed those aching muscles!!!

My mother, myself and my 2 children ages 12 and 7 stayed at Gazebo Creek Cabin July 17th - 19th. We had the most wonderful time, it was so much nice than a hotel so nice and cozy. After a hard day of shopping and river tubing ( you got to try that fun for the whole family) it was so nice to hop into the hot tub and relax.All 4 of us just loved it. We plan to go back as soon as we can.

We had a wonderful time in the cabin. It was very relaxing and just about everything we needed was provide, we just had to buy food. I am looking forward to going back in the winter. The location was also very close to many locations!! I would reccomend this cabin for any type of vacation. Very kid friendly!!

This was our first time staying in a cabin in Helen. (7/19 - 7/23/09) We usually stay in town but I wanted to find a place where the children (2 & 7) would have a good place to play in the water and out in the yard. The creek was just right for the two year old. Peyton (7yr old) found some deer tracks down next the water the morning after we got there. He was very excited. We could sit down next the creek (on the swing) in the evening while the children played in the creek and we could just sit and watch the mountain as the sun went down behind it. Got some great pictures. I have to say my mom, niece and her children and myself had a great time. The Gazebo Creek cabin was the perfect place. It was close to everything we did. We went to Babyland in Cleveland, Bear park, tubing, mining for gems, carriage ride, went to the smallest covered bridge, went on a picnic down next the stream close to town, did some shopping (Helen & Cleveland), went to the grits mill and for dinner we went to some nice places to eat in Helen. I just have to say again the place itself was great. Clean and very nicely decorated. Kids loved Billy Bass. Had everything we needed. Enjoyed the hot tub, saw a lot of fireflys, which I haven't seen in years. We sat out on the back patio and ate cold watermelon and I have to say we didn't have any bugs. The weather was nice. Mid to 80's during the day and high 60's at nite. I would recommend this cabin to all my friends and to anyone else that is interested in visiting Helen. Thanks to the Young's for making this a pleasant vacation.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Gazebo Creek cabin back in April 09. The scenery was very relaxing. The cabin was located in a peacful surrounding and had we felt very much at home. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the peaceful surroundings. It was also nice to be close to town but not in the middle of all the traffic.

We took our family of 5 for a long weekend. Kids 9, 7, and 4. We have the most wonderful time! The kids stayed in the backyard 24,7. So easy to find with quick access to food, Helen, and amazing little beach in Unicoi park! We will most assuredly be back.
