Beautiful space in a beautiful neighborhood
What a great place! First of all, the neighborhood is lovely and quiet - there are some neighborhoods in town that are a little...sketchy...but this one is beautiful and safe. No worries about parking on the street, and we walked from the house to the beach and boardwalk every day when we stayed (late April 2011. My daughter and I felt like we were on "House Hunters", oohing and ahhing over the granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. :) The tile throughout the house and in the bathroom is gorgeous - all the finishes are top notch. It's a great deal - very close to the price of the nicer hotels in town (and far less than the Dream Inn), but for the price of a double room you get a living room, eat in kitchen, a washer and dryer, and essentially two bedrooms. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!

CAN NOT GO WRONG WITH THIS ONE. CLOSE TO THE BEACH AND PIER. OWENERS ARE VERY FREINDLY. WE HAVE STAYED A 3 VRBO PROPETIES IN SANTA CRUZ AND THIS ONE IS TOP NOTCH. CLOSE TO THE REDWOODS, MONTEREY AND WINEIRES. GREAT BALCONY WITH CHAIRS AND BBQ. GREAT FOR AFTERNOON WINE AND LISTEN TO THE SURF. WALK WEST CLIFF DRIVE AND ENJOY THE OCEAN AND THE GREAT HOMES. PROPERTY WAS CLEAN AND WELL MAINTAINED. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY.

About the owner: My wife Jen and I are both working professionals, and recent parents of a beautiful baby girl Sophie who is the light of our lives. Shortly after her birth, we closed on this property and feel truly blessed to be able to raise a family in such a wonderful environment. When a friend of ours saw the house she said "oh, you have a frog", and we looked at her with a puzzled expression and asked her to explain. "A frog, you know a Finished Room Over the Garage" The name stuck and we've also added the alternative meaning of "Friends, Relatives and Other Guests"

We have been looking for a home with a guest house for a number of years, and this property truly exceeded all of our expectations. The guest house, 117 Lighthouse Ave is a luxury, 800 square foot apartment above the detached 3 car garage. There is a smaller room complete with bunk beds that is perfect for kids.
