Motueka cottage description
A slice of heaven atop a hill overlooking the beautiful Motueka River Valley and Tasman Bay with panoramic, breathtaking views, Awatea Tasman Bay offers a peaceful, relaxing getaway in comfortable, stylish, welcoming surroundings on a private 25 acre property of regenerating native bush.
The Cottage is a separate, stand-alone, one-bedroom self-contained solid timber cabin featuring kitchen, wood pellet heater, fantastic views, and private deck and BBQ area. The Cottage has access to the lodge spa pool, and if you wish, you can join your hosts (and other guests if any) in the main lodge for breakfasts and evening meals, for a moderate charge.
The Cottage offers amazing views, and is close (minutes drive) to attractions and beaches of Abel Tasman National Park with its numerous outdoor activities, and within a short drive of vineyards and wineries, artists and crafts galleries, scenic drives, and the multitude of apple, kiwi fruit, blueberry, and hops orchards the Motueka area is famous for.
What more could you ask for after a hard days site seeing or for that welcomed weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
Imagine yourself enjoying a nice glass of wine and a Kiwi barbecue on your private deck or on the deck of the main lodge, while taking in the stunning views over the valley.
Take a well-earned break and spend a few days above it all at Awatea Tasman Bay.

About the owner: Scott Starling and John Hutton at Bluff, New Zealand during one of our sojourns through the beautiful South Island of New Zealand, and about the time we decided we wanted to live in New Zealand and develop a quality accommodation business.
Why the Owner Chose Motueka:
One of the most beautiful areas of New Zealand (itself a beautiful country) with the most hours of sunshine in the country, this area holds many attractions, including vineyards, water views (river, lake, and Bay), and is close enough yet far enough away from the local town and supplies. We wanted a place which was close to tourist attractions (beaches, Abel Tasman National Park, etc.) yet far enough off the main road to avoid the noise and crowds.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Said by many who have visited to be the best building site they have ever seen, the views are awesome and are constantly changing with seasons and weather. We have beautiful views of the surrounding farmland, vineyards, orchards, and the Motueka River which meanders through our panoramic scenery -- all very visible from the deck of The Cottage. So many things to see and do in the area, or the ability to stay in The Cottage and read, relax, and recuperate; perfect for a writer or artist who seeks solitude and inspiration, as well as honeymoon couples, and couples seeking a romantic week away from it all.
