Hi Claude! Your apartment is simply perfect. I love how we could walk easily to three different Metro stations that took us all over Paris. The apartment is a perfect cozy size for us and well-equipped with whatever we needed to cook for the little ones (saucepan, kettle, frying pan etc). You've thought of everything - even the map and instructions to the boulangerie! The apartment is clean and so charming on the second floor. The children kept asking to go back to 'our' apartment after only a few hours of sight-seeing. They enjoy being in your aparment. I'll be coming back next June (hopefully) by myself, sans husband, sans children. So I hope to be able to book your place again. Thank you for having us Claude. It was a pleasure meeting you. Hugs, Maria
Owner response:Dear Maria,"Boulangerie" is becoming an inside joke for happy guest, isn't it? Thanks so much for coming and coming again. Au revoir very soon. Hugs, Claude

Great little studio. Make sure you know how to use a French press for coffee before you go. The Cafe du Metiers at the end of the corner is very good. The Metro stop is just one block away and there are stores and a boulanger within 2 blocks. The television and the shower were a bit quirky, but we finally figured them out.Beds were comfy, but lighting was dim. Roomier than a hotel room and very quiet and safe neighborhood.
Owner response:Dear Dianne, You made the most interesting game of your voyage.

My parents and I stayed in this apartment for four days and it was an ideal location to see much of Paris. We could easily walk to the activity of the Marais across to Notre Dame and the Latin Quarter. It has easy access to several Metro lines and the 38 bus stops just one block away. The apartment is simple, but has all the essentials - comfortable beds, wifi and a small kitchen for breakfast or dinners. Claude was a warm host - greeting us at the door, providing maps and answering questions about the area.
Owner response:Many thanks to sensitive travellers. I am so pleased to see your appreciation of your stay. Please come back.

My husband and stayed at this apartment and would gladly return. The convenient location near metros, boulangerie, restaurants and markets was definitely a plus and put Paris at your doorstep! Claude was a perfect hostess providing clear directions to the apartment and the infomation needed to feel comfortable in the apartment and the neighborhood. The free wi-fi and phone was very helpful. Thank you Claude!
Owner response:Please, Don and Julie, come back soon to "le Marais" where every crossroads of two streets are planted with a coffee shop with a terrace or a bakery shop spreading the unforgetable smell of warm croissants...

Pros: It is close to a metro station; quiet; has a well-equipped kitchen; variety of restaurants & supermarkets close by. The owner provided general information re the area when we arrived and arranged for a taxi to take us to airport for our return flight. Limitations: We could not find any patisseries, boulangeries, epiceries in the area. The décor is tacky with limited space for hanging clothing and insufficient lights for reading. The door lock is temperamental. The convertible bed does not provide a comfortable sleep. We couldn’t get the shower to work although the owner assured us she had no difficulty with it. A full length mirror would be beneficial. Of interest: We have stayed in a studio in Paris previously and did not encounter the above issues. We will not return to this studio on subsequent trips.
Owner response:Is this real? Carole and Carolyn could not find a boulangerie, a patisserie, an épicerie in "LE MARAIS" where those stores abund in every streets... This situation may be in relation to the fact that Carolyn broke her glasses on the very first day in the apartment. and call me fo an optician in the neigbourough. is this Optician I mention not a nice one? I don't know how a door latch or a tap in the shower can be temperamental! But when you are in a bad mood... I feel sorry that you did'nt enjoy your stay. I hope your eye situation is better now in Canada. Also my advice: I think your bags are really too heavy to be hold for two aged ladies and third: me. I nearly broke my back helping you.

My husband and I stayed in the apartment in July 2011 for a week. It was perfect for our trip. We walked to the Seine, the Louvre, to tons of great restaurants. The apartment is in a very safe area on a quiet street. It's close to the metro, which we took everywhere the whole week. Claude was great to work with. She met us at the apartment on the day we arrived and gave us a tour of the apartment (explaining how to operate the washer and dryer, etc.), and she made herself available should we have questions. I would highly recommend this apartment.
Owner response:Dear Shelly and Richard, You looked so optimist when you made your reservation and now so responsive... I am encouraged to deserve your compliments.

My husband and I stayed in mid June, 2011 and found the apartment exactly as described - so much nicer than a hotel. The washer and dryer are a big plus, as you can pack fewer clothes. Very clear instructions on the apartment provided in English, and a personal welcome. Claude is even more delightful than described in the reviews, and even called to wish us well on our last day. Convenient location to five Metro stops; shops nearby; reasonably priced, and best of all--Paris at your door. I would definitely stay again, and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.
Owner response:Thanks so much Maureen and Baldwin for this stylish comment! This is so rewarding: you make me redden! "Paris at your door". I have to keep the formula! See you next year!...

Many thanks, Claude, for your warm hospitality. The apartment was perfect for our needs - comfortable and very conveniently located. We were able to find our way around Paris very easily from rue du Vertbois for 3 weeks in Jan/Feb 2011. And it was very pleasant to come back 'home' each evening to a warm, comfortable place. Your assistance in locating shops, restaurants and more was also very much appreciated, and contributed to our wonderful experience. I would highly recommend the apartment to others. Best wishes from Laurel and Margaret
Owner response:Thanks so much Margaret. You Know: Before having guests here, I didn't realize how the studio was so well placed to run easely across the City.

Bonjour Claude.... I just wanted to thank you for allowing me to rent your quaint and gorgeous apartment in the Marais.....This apartment was exactly as described but the central location is what is overwhelming.....As a first time visitor to Paris I knew where I wanted to stay but not how TRUELY large Paris is....this apartment ticks all the boxes....I stayed from the 16th feb to 26 th feb this year and I love the cold but the warmth of the apartment to come home to each night made me feel right at home..... Again thank you and I will see you next year......
Owner response: Dear Kerin, C'est si bon. It's so nice to see how good you feel after your stay in Paris/Vertbois. I hope to welcome you and friend again.
