My granddaughter & I stayed in this apartment for 7 days last month (April.) Wish we could have stayed longer! The separate kitchen had everything we needed to make ourselves at home. The bathroom was nice - larger than most & had a great shower with plenty of HOT water. Both the beds were very comfortable. We both slept great each night after all the walking we did each day. The neighborhood is very quite, safe & close to the metro. The price is very reasonable and we really appreciated the free long distance telephone service and the free internet. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone who is planning to visit Paris. I hope Claude will welcome us again someday!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: Grand merci Liz and lovely Granddaughter. I feel good to see you fully appreciate the studio and around. Please come back.

The apartment needs updating, poor lighting, a small investment in better television. there is no oven for cooking, could use soms updates to furniture, if you sit on the couch it slants foward very uncoftable.I felt very unconftable the minute i walked in, i had rented the apartment for 1 month and left after 14 days. just be more careful than i was. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone!!! In the streets people were sleeping, right outside the apartment door . when the shower backed up i called CLAUDE she told me there is a plunger next to the toilet.Owner response: 60 reviews speak for me. I am flabbergasted!

This relaxing studio is the ideal home away from home. Fitted with all of the living essentials, it is suitably located in the heart of what anyone would want to experience during a week's stay in Paris. Notre Dame Cathedral and The Louvre are a short walk away, as is the art district of Paris which is Le Marais. The tube station is at your door step and supermarkets and great cafes are all readily accessible. After travelling 24 hours from Sydney, our host Claude greeted us with open arms and a readiness to provide thorough directions and help. My daughter and I both found our experience in Paris to be totally enjoyable, such that we plan to return in the near future where we would once again look to book our stay in this superb apartment as our home away from home in Paris. Thank you, Claude.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks so much Geordie and Hannah for this superb comment! I wish you back here: the sooner the better.

We had a week in this vacation rental by owner in Aug. 2012. The owner was very helpful. The apt. was clean but in need of an update . The linens are very tired as is the kitchen and furniture. The location was central to underground and bus access but walking by homeless street people every morning was unsettling. The photos make the apartment appear brigter than it is and some of the furniture is not the same and not as nice as the photo.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car.
Owner response: No Roberta, I swear I didn't made up the apart or the photos. The studio is exactly what is shown, even if it doesn't fit the sad feeling you have of your stay in old Paris. I am amazed to see you kept these objections during three months until today. I know that a tramp in the street can be disturbing but you should anticipate that Paris is not only the Champs Elysees. The Historic Center is an open space for people whom you prefer to ignore but this shouldn't stop you from enjoying the beautiful things around.

I recently stayed at Claude's flat at 60 Rue Vertbois for a week with two friends and loved the apartment. It is spacious and feels even more so due to the high ceilings and tall windows giving lots of light. It is situated in an historic building and looks out on a courtyard rather than the street which makes it quiet and feels private. It was super well equipped from the bathroom complete with hairdryer and plenty of towels and all plumbing functioning as it should to the kitchen with enough pots dishes and glassware to accomodate us. We even invited 2 friends in for dinner one evening and were able to comfortably prepare dinner for 5. Free local and international phone service and working WIFI made it easy to keep in touch with our families back home. Location was excellent, close to metro, cafes and we even found an antiques/flea market on Sunday morning in the neighborhood. We felt safe coming and going from the flat at any time. Claude was an excellent host in every way. She sent us directions to get there, met us at the apartment and made sure we were all set before she left us and offered to make arrangements for our cab to the airport upon departure. She said if we needed anything while were there that all we had to do was call. Everything was so well arranged, that we never even needed to call. She had lists of retaurants and nearby attractions all printed out and left in the apartment as well as several tour books on the shelf. Merci Beaucoup Claude for making our stay in Paris fun and easy! I will definitely recommend your place to friends and would happily come back when next I visit Paris.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks a lot Valerie for this extensive and elaborate description of the studio. It's so good to see you really like your stay in Old Paris and that I am for something in it. Your appreciation is a real encouragement sent to me and just (I must emphasise the coincidence) same day I am sorry by a bitter comment from a very unhappy lady. Thanks also to your two friends, Josephine and Zvana to be such nice and confident guests. Please come back!

My boyfriend and stayed in this apartment during our 4 night stay in Paris. This place fit us perfectly, everything we needed. Claude was so sweet and showed us around the neighborhood when we arrived. We were close to 3 metro stations which made it easy to get around. There are many restaurants close by if you don't want to wonder too far from the apartment. It was a wonderful place to stay! We will recommend this place to friends headed to Paris. Thanks Claude!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Grand Merci dear Kara for this. So you two enjoyed your short stay in the studio. You will get more of Paris, of the Marais, of Vertbois, sooner or later, I am sure...

Stayed here for 2 weeks. The apartment is very large (huge built in storage closet) with a good sized kitchen and bathroom and the stairs were not a problem for two 65 yr olds. The washer/dryer appliance (yes, just one item!) worked quite well. Although clean, the apartment is in need of some repairs (walls cracked and kitchen ceiling needs mending). Claude was great to work with before our stay. While there I had a health problem and she was absolutely wonderful in arranging for an English speaking doctor to make a house call and called several times afterward to check on us. Merci, Claude!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Dear Gary, am happy to see that you and Gina are positive about your two weeks vacation despite those health problems. The cracks in the kitchen will be repaired and repaint soon. You know the building is 250 years old so even if it has been totally renovated in 2007, it shows some wrinkles!

My teenage son and I stayed at this studio in late August. We were greeted by the owner Claude who was wonderful in every way -- very friendly, helpful and informative. We arrived during a heat wave, which was unusual for Paris, and were very comfortable with the air conditioner in the apartment. The studio was clean and the description was exactly as shown in the photos. The location was near metro stations and shopping. The apartment is very quiet which made for a good night sleep. We had a comfortable and memorable stay in Paris at 60 Rue du Vertbois. Thank you Claude for everything!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway.
Owner response: Merci beaucoup Barbara and Gregory. I am so happy that you two enjoy your stay and keep an agreable souvenir of Paris/Vertbois.
