Stayed in this lovely little studio for a week. John and Marcia are great and considerate hosts. The cabana is small, but had everything we needed and we never felt crowded. The valley location is quiet and the proximity to Coral Bay is wonderful. Took a snorkeling trip with John on Island Roots and I highly recommend that as well. All in all, this is a lovely little home to stay in and the price can't be beat!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed at this darling place for 5 days last week. We had a wonderful time. The photos you see are accurate. The descriptions are accurate. Absolutely no suprises, except that you really never know what you are going to get until you get there and like I said, there were no surprises. John and Marcia are as sweet as can be and obviously love and care for this little cottage, having made it their home for 5 years as they built their wonderful new home. I would suggest that folks who stay in Coral Bay and want to see a good part of St. John, should rent a car. The island is full of wonder and you will not see a good deal of it without your own vehicle. We will always have very fond memories of this charming cottage and of beautiful St. John. Thank you John and Marcia.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My husband and I spent two weeks at the Christmas Cottage bungalow and had a wonderful time. John and Marcia were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. We enjoyed the outside sun shower and the close proximity to Coral Bay. I would suggest you take a boat trip with John on Island Roots as he knows where to find the turtles and can take you places only accessible by water. The only negative was there were a lot of noseeums and there is no view of the water. So bring bug spray and you will be fine. We chose not to rent a car and did fine with getting rides from locals, other tourists and used the Vitran.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

My impressions of the cottage on arrival were WOW!: Here's my writer's cabin in Paradise. It has all you need, and hosts John and Marcia maintain it immaculately. Colorful, cozy, and they even provide loaner beach chairs and a carry cooler for your picnics. You can grille and prepare meals in the outdoor covered kitchen, and their clever eco-friendly system for an outdoor bathroom/shower works great. It is private enough in the backyard of their larger house (with awesome new studio apt if you're looking for something larger), plus it has the convenience of walking to nearby convenience stores, charming Coral Bay village and harbor, and several great restaurants. You'll enjoy access to all the beaches trails and national park treasures of St John. John's charter boat, Island Roots, is perfect for a snorkeling trip, too, which I did also, to four amazing locations. You'll hear some morning and evening noise from neighborhood roosters (!) and tree frogs, but otherwise a very peaceful and tranquil respite in a charming tropical garden, complete with hummingbirds. I give this one a thumb's up!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

One of the more down to earth places on the USVI, the Christmas Cottage is THE place to stay at Coral Bay. The cottage is quaint and full of life on the inside and out - decorated with love and inspiration in the Caribbean theme - and is a great place to stay for those looking for a creative and comfortable Virgin Island experience. The cottage is within walking distance from the bus, restaurants, bars (with some decent live music) and just a few miles miles away from some of the most pristine beaches and snorkeling spots we have ever seen. The Owners were very kind, generous and helpful and made us feel right at home. We will certainly be back.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Christmas cottage for 3 nights last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. At first, I was a bit timid of the sun shower and eco toilet, but quickly became acquainted and actually enjoyed the shower. We loved waking up to the sound of roosters and nature. There is also a path to walk into town nearby. If you're looking for a quiet getaway that's pretty tucked away (outside of the owner's house next door), this is it. It felt like camping, but we had many more conveniences that made it a great stay. Exactly what we'd hoped for.Recommended for: Adventure seekers.

The Unique Benefits at this Bungalow:
We have delighted in many moon-lit evenings enjoying the reggae tunes of 'Inner Visions' every Thursday. We have the choice of making the short walk to Sputnik's for the live show or taking it all in from our deck. The cabana is truly nestled in the valley, and comes alive with the night sounds of nature. The chorus of tree frogs lulls us to sleep every night.
