Initially wanted to come over to the coast for one night and the owners worked around their schedule and ours to make it work for us. Stayed over there for Friday through Sunday and everything we experienced exceeded expectations from the toothbrushes to their hospitality. Listing was accurate and the property was immaculate. Owners were very pet friendly, honest and trusting. Would recommend to others and will definitely be going back for future stays in Brookings.

The loft exceded our expectations, the pictures are beautiful but don't do it justice, seeing it in person was better. The hosts were personable, helpful, and made sure we had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. We arrived and they already had a fire going in the woodstove and kept us stocked with plenty of firewood. That was wonderful since we came on a weekend when it snowed. I would stay again without hesitation. Thank You!
Owner response:Hi Charity, Thank you so much for the delightful review! The weather was a little crazy with the snow and all but we did have sunshine so you could enjoy the ocean. It was a pleasure meeting all of you and hope to see you again! Thanks Again, Brenda

We spent a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday at the loft. An extremely comfortable kitchen provided a wonderful dinner and our attentive hosts had a fire going when we arrived. It was the neatest and most spacious rental we've had (especially for the great value.) Looking forward to staying again--our dogs loved running up and down the stairs! Thanks to Brenda and family for the stay!
Owner response:Hi Deb, Thank you for the wonderful review. It was our pleasure having you all stay at the loft for Thanksgiving. It pleases me to know that you had everything you needed and your stay was pleasurable. Hope to see you you again! Thank You, Brenda

I spent 3 nights there in early October, 2011. The loft is perched high above the town, with wonderful views of the coastline when the weather cooperates. The loft was cozy and welcoming, with a woodstove for chilly weather and everything anyone might want. The family, including 2 dogs and cats, are all wonderful hosts.I asked Sandra a question about mushroom picking and she conferred with friends to help find me an answer. It is a great spot if you want to explore Boardman State Park, just up the highway, and is also very practical if you want to pop down to California to see the redwoods. I am sure you will enjoy this home away from home with your family.
Owner response:Thank You Satya! I am so pleased that you had such a wonderful time and that everything was comfortable for you!I wish we could have found more mushrooms for you but you did find some wonderful trails though! Hope you had a great journey home and hope to see you again. Thanks Again, Brenda

I hate to tell people about this wonderful place! When we arrived today at 4pm we were welcomed with open arms! "Mrs. Owner" gave us a tour and it was apparent that she wants everyone to feel welcome. Our son is leaving for college in a few short weeks, so this is probably our last family outing for the summer. Staying here couldn't have been more perfect! The weather was beautiful - we ate dinner outside - no wind...amazing for the coast! We had been here for 5 minutes and my husband was wanting to book a date for next year! Well....off to watch a movie in the cozy living room.....
Owner response:Thank you ,Sabra, for your kind review! You have a wonderful family! It was a pleasure meeting all of you even if it was for a short time! I wish I could have offered you more than one day! Good luck to your son as he goes off to college.....he'll do fine! (so will you! ) = ) I look forward to seeing you again. Charlie says "Hi". Thanks Again, Brenda

This is a great house. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We spent the day walking at a state park beach, shopped a little in Brookings and had a afternoon nap. Would love to come again. Thanks for everything.
Owner response:Hi marilyn, Thank you! I'm glad that you enjoyed yourselves and that the loft had everything that you needed! It's important to me that everyone is comfortable! Shopping, beach walking and napping go hand in hand in Brookings! It was a pleasure meeting all of you and hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip. Look forward to seeing you again! Kind Regards, Brenda

My wife and three kids just finished up a week on the southern coast of Oregon. We stayed at The Loft at Duley Creek. This was are first trip to Oregon and I discovered a beautiful area to visit, and re-visit. The Loft is owned by couple from California who chose the Brookings area for "retirement". I can see why; beautiful coast, beautiful parks, world class fishing, and a nice small town with friendly people. VRBO recommends using no names. I will therefore refer to the owners of The Loft as Mr. and Mrs. Owner. It is obvious from arrival at The Loft Mrs. Owner does not rent The Loft solely for extra income. It is her hobby and passion. Little touches can be noticed throughout. Here are a few: Tea, coffee, hot chocolate in the kitchen. Washer and dryer with detergent and fabric softener! Plenty of clean bath towels. WiFi with a house laptop ready for use. Coupons and restaurant recommendations in a basket. Electric grill, charcoal grill, and a wood burning stove (with firewood) all ready for use. If you need something and cant find it, Mrs. Owner will have it at her home (next door) and be happy to get it or loan it out. Mr. Owner is a gentleman, scholar, and world class fisherman. Some "locals" prefer to not give up the local "hot spots" or nature's beautiful gems. Mr. Owner gladly shares his knowledge and encourages our exploration of some gorgeous and magnificent parks, rivers, and hidden gems. He also happily handed over some world class salmon he recently pulled out of the river that grilled up to perfection. The Loft by my guess is about 1300 sq, feet. The first floor is a small cozy family room with a wood burning stove, TV, recliner and love seat. There is a kitchen with dining for 6. Full laundry room and bathroom with tub/shower. The upstairs has an open loft with a queen bed, rocker, table and small TV. There is bedroom off of the loft with two beds, a full and a twin. There is a picnic table and two chairs outside with a parklike setting and awesome sunsets. The birds will serenade you in the morning while you sip your coffee. From the pictures I thought we would be closer to the water. It is approximately an 8 minute drive to the water/town. I actually came to like the short drive and the peacefulness of the distance away. Here is my fear: more people will discover The Loft and I will not get future booking. I already have three friends asking me to forward them the link. Mr. and Mrs. Owner are the epitome of hospitality. P-B-J-CB-M-O CU-soon
Owner response:Thank you so much for your most gracious review! You're right, this is my passion and hobby ! You are a wonderful family and it was a pleasure to meet you! I look forward to seeing you again next July! Thanks again, Brenda

Our time at the loft felt very relaxing and super-fun, for various reasons. First, Brenda and Paul are very friendly and generous. Minutes after a power outage our first night there, Brenda appeared through the pouring rain to bring additional flashlights and candles and to make sure that we were okay. They also went to great length to secure more dry wood for the wood stove - no easy feat after weeks of wet weather! We also brought our dog, who was very welcome on the property and enjoyed playing with the resident chocolate lab, Charlie. Furthermore, the location is awesome- literally minutes from the stunning Oregon Coast Trail and a 45-minute excursion to the Redwoods. Even if you don't fish, there is more than plenty to see and do! All-in-all, we loved having a comfortable, dry, clean, fully-supplied, and dog-friendly place to stay on our first trip to the southern Oregon coast. We definitely hope to be back some day! Thanks again, Brenda and Paul! - Jen and Hans

I recently spent three nights at the loft at Duley Creek. Everything about this rental exceeded my expectations from the listing. Brenda has gone the extra mile in every way to make visitors feel welcome. All of her thoughtful touches are everywhere; you literally could stay here and bring nothing but your clothes and some food. She has thought of everything else! My family also appreciated how welcome our dog Jake was. He loved staying at the loft and meeting Brenda and Paul's two dogs. Moving on to staying in a motel after our visit to Duley Creek was a major letdown. We really wished we could have stayed longer at Duley. We give this rental our highest recommendation.

We expected to have a wonderful time at the Duley Creek Loft. What we had was a perfect time, We received fresh garden tomatos, fresh salmon. and the most warm and gracious people as hosts. We have already told many friends and family about this magical spot.We were always greeted by two of the sweetest dogs when we returned from our daily outings. Brenda, Paul, amd their adorable grandson made our stay so comfortable and we felt so sorry to leave them all. Will we go back?? We will return very soon!!
Owner response:Thank You Debbie and Richard! You two are great! So enjoyed meeting you. I'm thrilled that you had such a wonderful time! Hope your dreams of finding a home in this area are going well...keep in touch! Hope to see you soon! Thanks Again, Brenda

The loft is in the perfect location. It is really close to downtown and it is located near all sorts of parks and beaches. The loft is a lot bigger than you think, and it has everything you could possibly need. It was actually hard to go home, I don't think either of our pets wanted to leave! To top it off, Brenda was very welcoming, we couldn't have asked for more! We hope to be able to stay longer next time. Thank you! C & R - the critters too

We had a fabulous time - - traveling with children is never easy but this made it most enjoyable. We had plenty of room for everyone. I, mom, had more sleep than I have had in years. The view, the location, the loft and all the amenities . . . we felt right at home from the moment our 5 sleepy heads arrived. We recommend this to all families and we will return!

We (our family of 4, incl. 2 teenaged sons) had a marvelous stay at the Loft at Duley Creek. This was our first trip to Oregon; Paul and Brenda are gracious hosts, making us feel so welcome. The accommodations were very clean, well kept and comfortable. It was great arriving back from the day's adventures to a place that felt like home. Sometimes vacationing can be tiring but we felt like staying here allowed us to get the r & r we needed, along with having access to the beautiful Oregon coast. The view from the loft is breathtaking (we have some great pictures of sunset the first night we were there!) Having a full kitchen allowed us to eat breakfasts and dinners in, rather than having to eat out each meal-and with 2 teenaged boys, that helps the budget, too! We so enjoyed Sporthaven Beach where our sons loved boogie boarding and digging sand pits-all day! Having an in-house washer and dryer to use was very helpful, too. Our trip on the Rogue River with Jerrry's Rogue Jets was spectacular-worth every penny. We hated to leave after our 3 night stay but thank you Paul and Brenda for the delicious salmon-we kept it well frozen in the hotel refrigerator in Medford and in the cooler on the way home. We grilled it the following Sunday and it made for a scrumptious reminder of our trip to Brookings! Thank you for your gracious hospitality. We look forward to visting again!

My family stayed at the loft from 6/28/2011 to 7/3/2011 and loved it. The house was wonderful and had everything we needed including extra toothbrushes and laundry soap. They made sure you felt welcome and if you needed anything just call. They even had firewood ready for the fireplace. Their dog Charlie was sweet and loved to play. We will definately stay there again. Our neighbors already booked 2 weeks in Sept. and may decide to stay a month. We really felt at home while we were there. Thanks for the wonderful time at the loft. All the best the Sproulls
Owner response:Thank you so much for your generous review! I'm very pleased that you were all comfortable and had a great time! You are a wonderful family (Charlie says you sure are!) It was a pleasure meeting all of you! I'm sorry you missed the fireworks this year. We had a clear night and they were fabulous to watch over the ocean! Maybe next time! Look for to seeing you again ! Brenda

Thank you Paul and Brenda for a beautiful place to stay. Even though we had a working vacation it was wonderful to come back to a place at the end of the day that was so comfortable in such a beautiful setting. The veiw of the ocean while nesteled in the trees was our favorite part. We appreciate all you provided for our stay. Now we have the perfect place to stay when we come back for a real vacation. My son & I had a great time at the Duley Loft. Felt just like home with the fireplace & all. Very cozy. Had the ocean air but still had the country wood feel. I will definitely be back for another visit. Thank you Paul & Brenda, It was home away from home.
