CASA COLIBRI (Hummingbird) on Calle Naranjito is said to be one of the most photographed sights in Sayulita, which is only a 40 minute drive from Puerto Vallarta airport. It is a beautiful, spacious, custom-built CASA, situated on a hillside one hill from the beach, southwest of the plaza and main beach, with panoramic views northeast towards the fishing village below, beyond to beaches, palm groves, the ocean, mountains of the Sierra Madre Occidental, west to other hillside homes, and southwest to the "jungle."
In this recently built CASA, the two bedroom rental unit is suitable for two to four in the bedrooms. A sofa bed in the living room is available for a fifth person. Both spacious bedrooms have newly installed efficient air conditioners, which are very quiet, because the motor/condenser units are on the outside. The rental unit is private with a separate stairway from the street and is fully furnished with modern plumbing, two showers/bathrooms, living room and a full kitchen for those who wish to cook. In the village there are grocery stores and many good restaurants for every meal of the day, offering simple to gourmet Mexican food, American, Argentine or Italian cuisine.
The two large bedrooms have king-sized beds. One bedroom can be arranged with two twin beds, if desired. The portable bed can be placed inside or on the large, tiled deck. Maid service is provided. Enjoy the comfortable Mexican equipali furniture in the living room and on the deck. You can lounge and relax or dine on the deck. A short walk takes you to the long, wide main beach for running, sunning, swimming, surfing, horse riding, fishing, etc. A more secluded beach, called "Playa Los Muertos", is just a 15 minute walk from the CASA through the scenic, peaceful “jungle”.
At the CASA on the landscaped terraces leading to the road below are a large assortment of exotic, fragrant, flowering tropical plants and bushes. Birds and butterflies love our flowers and plants. There is almost always a refreshing breeze blowing through the windows and across the deck and terraces. All the floors inside and outside are tiled. The rain-free, balmy season extends from late October to late May. You will sleep in cool comfort, even during the warm late spring and summer months with our quiet air conditioning.
Nearby are many attractions for visitors. The quiet village of San Francisco (“San Pancho” to locals) is a six minute taxi ride to the north. It has a beautiful, wide and long beach with few people and a large lagoon with many shorebirds coming and going. There are several good restaurants there. A bus from Sayulita goes to the Punta Mita peninsula, where one can take a whale watching boat – a thrilling experience – then enjoy a tasty sea food meal at one of several restaurants on the beach.

We stayed for 5 nights at Casa Colibri and LOVED it. We all thought that it is even better than the photos show. The house was perfect for our family with a 3 year old and 5 year old. Great space indoors and out, beautiful and spotlessly clean but not full of things that we worried about the kids damaging. The walk to the beach and plaza was easy for all even if we did have to carry the 3 year old up the final hill at times. We took a taxi to and from the airport in Puerto Vallarta and never wanted a car. June and Paul were gracious and helpful hosts. The value for the price is definitely worth it. We are hoping to return again and again.

We've enjoyed several wonderful stays at Casa Colibri in the past few years. It's our first choice of places to stay in Sayulita. Paul and June are perfect hosts. They always make us feel so welcome and make sure we have everything we need and then they give us all the privacy we could possibly want. This wonderful suite is private, spacious and well maintained. Casa Colibri is set in the middle of a luscious tropical garden on a hill with a view, through the hllls, of the Pacific Ocean. Casa Colibri is a pleasant 10-minute stroll from the village centre and two beaches -- the main beach and beautiful, private Los Muertos. The walk from the pueblo is always interesting and feels very safe, even at 11 p.m. at night after an evening at one of the many terrific restaurants dotted around the village streets. Can't wait to be back there in January.

I had the pleasure to stay at Casa Colibri with a close friend and her brother. The sleeping arrangement was perfect for this. I quite enjoyed the open concept of the master bedroom with option to open shutters to the living area. There was a little secure area outside that was perfect for hanging clothes. The view of the bay was amazing, the location was exactly what we wanted, easy to walk to the plaza and the beach. I found booking quite easy and accomodating too. The rates are very reasonable and I could tell you this because I was down for a wedding and we had 7 houses rented between us, and ours was the best value! I would definitely recommend it.

From the first email, to the moment we left Sayulita, Paul and June were incredible. They kept the lines of communication very open, so if there was ever a question, they were always quick to answer via email or phone. Reserving the Casa Colibri was painless, and upon arrival, I was completely blown away by the property. Lush gardens that had this beautiful scent from all the blossoming flowers, and the perfect view of the beach. Sunrises were incredible from the patio. It only took 5 minutes (if that) to walk down the street into town. The location was so convenient. The cleanliness of the place was amazing and the staff that we met were wonderful. Muy buena! When I return to Sayulita, I will be doing my best to reserve this place again. There were 4 of us that stayed there, with plenty of space. We utilized the kitchen as much as possible, and with 2 of us doing work while we were there, it was great to have a quick wireless connection. For the 8 days that we all stayed there, we never had a single issue. Our stay was maravilloso, and I can't wait to return!
