WE'LL PROVIDE ALL THE TOYS: Four bicycles for exploring the island; beach chairs for watching the ocean; two 4-person golf carts; and two kayaks for paddling in the marsh.
SHOALS CLUB MEMBERSHIP IS INCLUDED! The club has two additional dining venues, swimming pools, beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas for use at The Point; showers and locker rooms, PLUS a conditioned work-out area.
THE LOCATION ON THE ISLAND IS IDEAL. It is secluded in the semi-tropical maritime forest, minutes from the beach, sound, marsh, and the island's stores.
THERE'S NEVER A BAD-BEACH DAY AT BHI. The island is uniquely located on the eastern seaboard where the coast line transitions from north/south to east/west. You will never have a bad beach day due to wind or waves. At the 'Point,' there is a 270% panoramic view of the ocean.
OUR HOME IS GREAT FOR LARGE FAMILIES, TWO FAMILIES or COUPLES. We have TWO master bedrooms, TWO sitting/TV areas in an open floor plan. Our wrap-around SCREEN porch is designed for dining, meditation, and enjoying the outdoors in a protected environment.
UNIQUE ACTIVITIES:
Watch Sea Turtles hatch from their nesting place and make their frantic dash to the water.
Don't Forget the Lyrid Meteor Shower - June 14, 15, and 16; Delta Aquorid Meteor Shower - July 28 and 19
Perseid Meteor Shower - Aug 12 and 13.
The Point at the new moon is the BEST place for star gazing.
Also, there are many experienced fishing guides available to fish the marsh for red drum, flounder, and speckled trout; and off-shore fishing for spanish mackeral and king mackeral.

We stayed here with another family this summer and loved the house. It was a great location on the island, very close to the grocery store and about midway between the harbor area and the beach. It is on a nicely shaded cul-de-sac which is a nice respite after a hot day in the sun. We liked that it came with 2 golf carts and 4 bikes, as well as two kayaks! The membership to the Shoals Club was a huge plus. Our older teenagers/young adults liked being able to enjoy the ammenities at the club. The club offers the use of chairs, umbrellas and towels free of charge. Not having to lug all of those things makes packing up for the beach so much easier, especially for a group. The house was decorated nicely and well maintained with beautiful hardwood/ceramic tile throughout. One of the bedrooms upstairs worked great for sleeping several kids (one Queen and 2 twins) but this house would also work for 4 couples . The house has a lovely porch which is great for enjoying coffee and breakfast in the morning and also for enjoying the evenings bug-free! The owner was a delight to work with. He was very professional and provided all the information we needed to make this a really fun vacation week. I would definitely recommend this house.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children.

We enjoyed everything about the house. The availability of the kayaks, bicycles and Shoals Club membership were important to us. The location could not have been better. Access to the market was quick, and we had a short ride to any beach. The house itself offered plenty of room. Communications with the owner were great.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children.

We just spent a wonderful week in this cheerful home. Beautifully decorated, equipped with everything we needed, pristine and peaceful. We enjoyed the amenties available to us at the Shoals Club and spent 6 delightful days at East Beach and South Beach. BHI is a magical place and this lovely home certainly added to the magic. Happy Visitors from Georgia and Texas.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Why the Owner Chose Bald Head Island:
Our family chose to build our vacation home on Bald Head Island because of its separation from the main land and it's non-commercial, environmentally sensitive design. The 25 minute ferry ride provides the necessary threshold to de-compress from accumulated stresses of daily life. The island has four unique environments; the beach, dune, semi-tropical forest, and marsh. We have found that the variety of nature revitalizes our family with each and every visit.

I love to walk on the beach in the moon light ,it's so bright sometimes that it's like walking in sun light . Or sitting with our childern trying to spot a falling star.Maybe being lucky enought to see a sea turtle.These are the things that memories are made of .
