Villa Tiipoto is a unique contemporary house, built on a hillside plot on the Corniche des Illes d'Or above the small village of Aiguebelle. The house faces South and has stunning panoramic views over the sea and beautiful islands. This stretch of the French Coast is known as Provence d'Azur and is famous for its golden beaches and flower filled highways.
Aiguebelle is situated about five miles from Le Lavandou, some 30 minutes from St. Tropez, 25 minutes from the local airport at Hyeres\Toulon, and equidistant between Nice and Marseilles. The beautiful Maures Hills are a few minutes drive, with the classic Provencal villages of Bormes les Mimosas, la Mole, and la Garde Freinet. The local hotel Les Roches, was a frequent haunt of both Bogart and Churchill.
Villa Tiipoto was built in 1968 by the architect le Corbisier for a wealthy Belgian family, and was featured in the inaugural edition of the magazine la maison. The house is built on three levels and is of the classic contemporary style with open plan living/dining room with Palmier and large balconies to the upper levels.
The house has master bedroom suite with bathroom, 1 double bedroom with en-suite washing facilities, 1 twin bedroom, shower room, w.c, large hall, living/dining room, kitchen and balconies. To the lower level is the 4th bedroom with super king size bed and en-suite bathroom. In total there is sleeping capacity for up to 8. There is a utility area in the lower floor. All bedrooms have clear sea views.
The covered south facing balconies to both upper levels are a major feature and provide extensive space for dining, relaxing and from which to enjoy the views of the coast and islands.
Outside is a 9m x 4m tiled pool, vaste newly decked pool terrace with built in banquette seating, and bar with lava rock top.
Accommodation Details: Level 1: Large entrance hall/study with immediate open views of the sea, large south facing decked balcony with stunning views over the sea to the islands, master bedroom with king size Vi-spring bed and en-suite bathroom with shower, bath, 2 basins and w.c., private balcony with fabulous sea views. The bedroom has ample fitted wardrobes.
Level 2: 15 metre long open plan living/dining room with double height Palmier and open fire (for winter use). The living room is furnished with comfortable sofa and classic occasional chairs, television and DVD/CD music system. The dining area has table and chairs for 8. The room has sliding doors leading to the large main covered balcony, where there is further dining furniture for 10.
The kitchen is all new and fully equipped with fan oven and built in microwave, induction hob, dishwasher, fitted fridge and freezer and lava rock work tops. There is a plentiful supply of good quality china, glasses and cooking equipment. From the kitchen there is further access to the main balcony where there is a built in barbecue, griddle and food preparation area, all designed to maximise the Mediterranean outdoor living.
On this level there is 1 double bedroom with en-suite washing facilities, 1 twin bedroom, a shower room and w.c. Both bedrooms have sliding door access to the main balcony and fitted wardrobes.
Level 3: Bedroom 4 with king size bed, armchairs, bathroom with shower, basin and w.c, direct access to pool terrace with wonderful views from bed over the pool to the sea and islands
Utility area with washing machine and additional refrigeration for poolside drinks.
Outside: The swimming pool has its own large decked terrace with built in bar and banquette seating area, which together with the upper terraces are furnished with ample tables, chairs and sunloungers, large parasols and perfect for poolside sunbathing, alfresco drinks and dining, all with stunning sea views. The pool is fitted with a safety alarm.
The various terraces and balconies provide ample space for many people, affording several quiet spaces to sit and relax.
The landscaped gardens are on several levels with a shaded boule court to the lower level. The terraces are planted with mature palms and shrubs.
There are safes at all 3 levels for the use of guests.
Villa Tiipoto provides the perfect vacation base from which to explore La Route des Vins, visit local Chateaux and vineyards and sample the fresh Cotes de Provence. There is also the Gorge de Verdon, Europe's Grand Canyon, and the ancient towns of Hyeres and Bormes les Mimosa to visit. The famous towns of St Tropez, Cannes, Nice, and Monte Carlo are all readily accessible. We also have 2 Michelin starred restaurants within walking distance at the restaurant Le Sud and hotel Les Roches.
There is a fantastic selection of beautiful, safe local beaches, some buzzing with bars and beach restaurants and beds to rent, others very private and secluded. There are numerous excellent local restaurants, specializing in freshly caught seafood. |
