Brevard cabin description

Nestled 25' from a beautiful waterfall with the private stream coming within 10' of master bedroom , the secluded Cabin in the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains,12 miles from Brevard is a true mountain cabin retreat surrounded by a pristine forest and bordered on two sides by a 5000 acre private perserve. Feed the native trout just a stones throw from the roomy front porch where solitude and relaxation begins with settling down in a rocker or listen to the calming waterfall and the rain hitting the tin roof, while watching the leaves change colors in the Fall.

The Cabin's interior has a beamed ceiling, stone fireplace, wide plank pine floors with carefully selected antiques and furnishings that capture the character of the region and provide the utmost in comfort. The Blue Ridge Mountain elevation approaching 3000 feet allows for cool mountain breezes and a rare need for air conditioning.

Rarely in our 60 year marriage have we had an opportunity to be truly alone with each other. The peace and seclusion of the Waterfall Cabin at Trout House Falls was number one in our estimation. Time to relax . . . rock and read on the porch just feet from the rippling stream and waterfall . . . a pot roast simmering on the stove on a rainy day . . . college football on Saturday . . . Craig's waterfall tour . . . Ingles, Chocolate Shop, Bracken Mountain Bakery, Soda Shop, Fox Hollow a unique shop where I bought a book "How to Cook Children" and a neat life-like fox to live on my carpet at home. The Sloan's have created a perfect cabin that is exactly as advertised. We plan to return.

We had the pleasure of staying at the Waterfall Cabin November 8th-11th and it was an unbelievably beautiful piece of paradise right here on earth. The cabin was perfect and the scenery breathtaking. Mr. Sloan's description of the cabin and property was dead-on. The cabin was cozy and comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated. Everything was there that we would have needed to enjoy our stay. Mr. Sloan gave us recommendations for dinner at several locations and they were not disappointing either. The Waterfall Tour by Craig Miller was also a recommendation and it was fabulous. If you go, you must do that tour. It is phenomenal. We enjoyed ourselves so much and will definitely go back again…and again!

Perfect fall getaway off the beaten path on a gravel track through the backwoods. Waterfall and creek as advertised ... just a few feet from the front porch. Unbelievably peaceful and relaxing. Cozy, clean, comfortable cabin, but not over the top. Be sure and take plenty of provisions because you won't want to leave once you get there!

The waterfall cabin was everything we had hoped for and more. Despite almost a week of rain, we were very content and happy at the cabin. Between the comfortable interior and the porch swing, we had a lovely place to relax while watching the rain and the waterfall. When the rains stopped, we hiked up the hill on the trail or climbed over the waterfalls walking in the water all the way to the top of the hill. We bought some folding chairs in town and set up camp at the top of the main waterfall just “chilling.” By mid week, we were so relaxed and calm, I felt like we might just melt into a puddle of water. When the sun finally came out, the cabin was a convenient location to head out on our motorcycle up on the Blue Ridge Parkway, through the forests and into Waynesville. We enjoyed poking around the historic district in Brevard as well and ate some fabulous meals. Don’t miss the chocolate shop! Jim and Kathy were wonderful hosts, ready to take care of our every need. The rent was a little more than we usually pay for a week’s stay, but it was well worth every penny as we had everything we could want. Who needs a waterfall tour when you have such beauty right before your eyes every day? We would definitely stay here again. It was one of the best vacations we have ever taken, and we cannot stop talking about it or showing our pictures to our friends and family.

During our first trip to the east coast we were looking to simply enjoy some wilderness and solitude amongst our hectic itinerary. With the waterfall cabin we found exactly that! Despite informing ourselves thru the Internet we were still not fully prepared for the awesome beauty of the cabin and its surroundings and were blown away by it all. Thanks to Jack's helpful guidance we settled down quickly and had a great time throughout the stay. Make sure to reach this place well before dusk since getting there and settling in could get really challenging otherwise. Finding the lane to the house can be tricky so make sure you get well versed with the directions. It would be advisable to already bring with you basic provisions for your stay since the nearest grocery is 30 miles away. The cabin is very neatly maintained with great facilities. Given a chance, we will definitely make it there again.

My husband, two teenagers and I stayed for a week at the waterfall cabin. We did not want to leave! Getting away from the stressors of daily life in such a great place is perfect for anyone who loves solitude, nature and outdoor exploration. The soothing sound of the waterfall just outside the front door, was my favorite aspect. The kids loved the fast internet! We will be back!

Our three night stay at the Waterfall Cabin was a perfect getaway. While my husband and I and baby relaxed and played on the porch our 5 year old explored the creek all day. He LOVED the creek and didn't want to come home. The pictures are accurate but you really cannot get a sense of how wonderful it is to be that close to a creek until you are there. The house is impeccably clean, comfy and tasteful. The cute town of Brevard is about 25 minutes down the road and there are all sorts of fun outdoor adventures to go on in Pisgah Forest. Be sure to come prepared with all of your groceries because the nearest store is in Brevard and once you are home at the cabin you really won't want to leave. The cabin also has wifi and Dish TV for those who still need to stay in touch while being away. We definitely want to visit again.

We found this one of a kind location years ago and each time we went there we wondered why we would go anywhere else. Nestled in a cool shady valley between mountains, surrounded by protected forests and sitting on a clear mountain stream and waterfall, the beautiful green moss covered rocks are like a soft carpet leading from the front porch to the babbling stream. The owner has supplied everything, including ample dry firewood so that we could build a crackling fire in the evening and open the door to listen to the rushing waters outside, all at the same time. A beautifully decorated interior and fantastic kitchen make for a wonderful and cozy stay. We spent one Thanksgiving there and had everything we needed to prepare a full Thanksgiving turkey dinner . It is quiet and peaceful with trails along the stream and driveway. We love to go to Brevard for dinner, but find ourselves wishing we were back at our cabin. We truly feel that we are wasting the time that we could be spending at the cabin when we leave it. If you are like us, and love to go to the mountains in the summer to escape the heat. The location of this cabin is perfect. We actually measured the temperature and found that there was a 10 degree drop in temperature from the beginning of the gravel road to the cabin itself. We have long researched and enjoyed the best kept secrets in B&Bs and cabins and have not found a more peaceful, enjoyable or beautiful place to stay.

My wife and I stayed four days at the "Waterfall Cabin". I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed ourselves. It was very clean, everything thing worked properly, and had many great amenities. The property is so peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed the the peacefulness and the ability to get away from the real world for a bit. The owner is very helpful and available if you need him. I would highly recommend this property to stay. I am a very picky person and I was very satisfied. The Town of Brevard is about a half-hour away and has many great dining and activities. We went fly-fishing and had a great time. Asheville is about an hour away and has many more activities and sightseeing tours. It is a great area for a fabulous vacation.
