Everything we were looking for; SECLUDED, Clean, modern amenities, cozy, romantic, peaceful...oh and did I mention the WATERFALL steps from the front porch!!!! Close proximity to many state parks and forests for hiking and waterfall viewing; we hiked to (5) waterfalls in one park alone, amazing place. Brevard is a great little trendy town. One of the reviews I read mentioned to make sure and buy your groceries before arrival as the grocery store is not around the corner, we took that suggestion and were happy we did. We had all we needed and could have spent the entire 5 days on the front porch. Wonderful new Christmas Memory.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

The cabin was wonderful and cozy and perfectly appointed. We loved building a fire every night and having the waterfall right by our front door. The trout were not biting but I enjoyed exploring the streams on the property and nearby anyway. We loved the coffee shop in town and all the nice shops. We drove to the Cashiers/Highlands one day and found we liked Brevard much better than either although the drive was beautiful. Jim was great to offer information on the area and fishing. I will definitely try my ability to catch one at another time. Thanks!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Beautiful, idyllic setting. The cabin was comfortable with all the amenities of home. After a day of fishing or hiking, we enjoyed relaxing by the fire most nights. The fall foliage was gorgeous. Restaurants we really liked were Hob Nob, Square Root, Hawg Wild, and coffee at Quotations. Because of the proximity to the waterfall and streams just outside the house, I would hesitate to recommend to families with small children but older children and pre-teens would love it!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+.

I'm not sure how to express how pleased we were with this cabin. Everything about it was as close to perfect as is possible. The cabin consists of two bedrooms and a giant kitchen/dining room/living room area with a 20' or more vaulted ceiling. It is very roomy. I enjoy cooking, so having a big kitchen is important to me. This cabin delivered that. When you come, bring a frying pan. All of the other kitchen supplies are great. You don't need to bring anything else. The waterfall is about 30 feet from the house. It's quite pretty, but I liked it most because the sound of waterfalls puts me to sleep like nothing else. Make sure and bring an alarm clock. That's not a joke. You'll get the best sleep of your life, but without an alarm clock you'll miss most of the morning sleeping to that wonderful sound. When you reserve this cabin, make sure and ask the owner to help you get the waterfall tour guide named Craig Miller. He's extremely inexpensive and will take you to some of the prettiest waterfalls that no one else seems to know about. It's a half-day excursion and was the best part of the trip. These are the amenities I enjoyed most: - Great front porch with swinging chair to sit in while we listen to the waterfall - Fireplace w/wood pile - Gigantic washing machine - the kitchen - wifi + nice TV Lastly, the owner seems to be an extremely nice person. He makes renting the place easy, and was happy (or at least he didn't get angry) with me asking tons of questions about the place. I cannot recommend this place strongly enough. I don't think I've been able to say that about any other vacation rental.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

If you are looking for a place to unwind and get away from it all, this is your place. It is secluded with a waterfall right out your front door. Just be sure to buy your groceries before you go, it is quite a drive to town. It is very clean and well equiped. The location is central to the many waterfalls in the Brevard area. Lots of hiking and beautiful scenery.Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

If only one could hear the waterfall online! It is truly a piece of carved out wonderful among the tall pines and the rushing water. The house is beautiful and the beds wonderful. Jim you are quite the travel advisor and have so many insider places for your guests to see. Our best thing was the personal tour of about 8 waterfalls that we took with your friend. The tourist bureau was so helpful and the people there gave us so many tips. Brevard is a beautiful town and the weather in August while we were there was unbelieveable coming from 102 in Texas!. We will plan a visit next October to see the leaves, save us a place!.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This was a dream cabin for me that I first noticed a few years ago on craigslist. As a lover of mountain streams and waterfalls, I wanted to experience what it was like to live and sleep to the melody of a gushing stream. My 13-year old son and I finally visited in August and it was purely magical. From the storybook look of the cabin to the large mossy rocks, sounds of the water, and large porch. The interior was beautifully decorated and comfortable. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. My son enjoyed the flat screen, channel line-up, and WIFI! We couldn't get cell phone service but there is a landline in the cabin. There was great water pressure. I loved leaving the porch door open to let in the sounds of the water while we were snug as a bug inside. We also enjoyed the two black labs that escorted us past the farm as we came and went from the cabin. While there, we made tracks back and forth to Pisgah Forest to fish the Davidson River and take the plunge at Sliding Rock. Jim: We caught two big rainbow trout in the Davidson River! Jim and his wife were truly helpful in making sure that we had an enjoyable stay and helping us find the cabin. I would love to come back again when the leaves are in full color!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.
