  Loved the pool during the hot weather - swam every afternoon! Yard is very private and quiet. House is very clean and well equipped. Kitchen is great, and it's easy to find everything you need. Comfortable beds and bathrooms and a great LA location. Thank you! we were so much more comfortable here than in any of the nearby hotels we have tried.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

  It was our first time in LA and we were nervous about the location and safety of this house since we are from a rural area in upstate New York. Needless to say, it was a nice location in a quiet neighborhood and central to all the tourist things we had on our list of to do and to the freeways to head north to visit relatives. The house was spacious and tidy, however we did have a problem with the tv and cleanliness of the pool that Helen addressed within a few days of our stay. The house is an older home with a cottage feel, so if you are looking for something more modern, you may be slightly disappointed. The kitchen has been updated, but the livingroom furniture and bedrooms could use a face lift. The creaking hardwood floors could use a little assistance too. The masterbath shower tiles seem a bit worn, but the 2nd bathroom with the jacuzzi jet tub was very nice. The laundry facilities were a huge plus. Wish we could have parked in the garage instead of the driveway. The welcome binder left by Helen was very helpful in finding local grocery stores, malls and restaurants. Although the pool was a bit chilly, we did enjoy the patio furniture and spent a great deal of time outside in the back yard soaking up the sun and eating our meals. Although Helen was not able to greet us on arrival, she did make a point of stopping by during our visit which was appreciated. The basket of fruit and fresh flowers was a nice touch. If we were in LA again, we would consider staying here again and would recommend to friends.

  Our family stayed at this rental in March. There was lots of room for all 8 of us. We just wish the weather had been a little warmer as the pool looked very inviting. Perhaps next time! The place is in a quiet, pretty neighborhood close to the freeway, banks, grocery stores and restaurants. We had a lovely time and the place was very clean. Helen even had a welcome basket and fresh flowers for our arrival. The welcome basket was a nice treat which we enjoyed even more as we didn't have to run right out to the market. I especially enjoyed all the books on so many different subjects. It was wonderful perusing them. Helen even went the extra mile when I realized I was missing a pair of shoes upon my return home. She mailed them to me. I doubt that would happen everywhere. We would definitely recommend this property and would stay there again if an opportunity presented itself.

  We had a wonderful stay at this cozy cottage vacation home in Sherman Oaks over spring break. The house was lovely and perfectly situated to allow for quick drives to Disney, Santa Monica and LA. We enjoyed the peaceful setting and our kids loved the toy cabinet. The house was gorgeous, clean, had a great kitchen and just enough space for our family. The fresh flowers were a wonderful surprise and fabulous addition to our week. Was a pleasure working with Helen; who was a dear in helping us extend our stay due to airline flight cancellation challenges. Helen made the reservation process, check-out and extended stay a breeze. THANK you Helen for your kind hospitality! Was a perfect spot to call "home" for a week! We would highly recommend this home and, should we find ourselves back in LA, know exactly where we will stay.

  My husband, daughter and I recently stayed here the end of July on the tail end of a coastal trip. It was just what we needed. The pool was fantastic-we swam in it everyday and quite a few evenings and enjoyed a BBQ and eating outside. I have to say the house is so comfortable-elegant yet relaxed. It felt like home. We did not want to leave-so private and quiet. Thank you Helen for a wonderful stay and helping us out at the last minute. Truly a pleasure to deal with you. We will most certainly return.

  What a superb property. It really was, literally, a "home from home " as we were staying in Los Angeles to attend our youngest son's wedding in Burbank. The house was more spacious than expected, very well appointed, clean and tidy with the bonus of the large pool and outdoor eating area. It certainly was the most comfortable and best equipped rental property we have ever had.

  Stayed here for 1 week in late June/July 2010. I concur with the sentiments expressed in a review of the property left by my dad but would like to add a few of my own. The description and photos of the property on the website are very accurate. The house is decorated to a very high standard, it is faultlessly clean both inside and out and the owner Helen has gone to great lengths to make it an ideal vacation home by providing maps of Los Angeles, supplying family boardgames, and leaving local takeaway menus. The kitchen is very well equipped, the rooms are very airy and spacious, and the beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are spotlessly clean with beautiful fixtures and fittings, and really good showers. Shampoo and shower gel were even provided as well as a range of other toiletries. The pool was fantastic and was even larger than the photos suggest and is extremely private and not overlooked by the neighbouring properties. A good variety of pool toys were provided for our use. The property is situated in a safe and quiet neighbourhood and is ideally situated for getting to the coast, Hollywood, downtown and the airport. I found Helen to be very prompt and helpful in answering any queries I had about the property and its location and the welcome basket with fruit, cookies and water was a very kind gesture. We had a great vacation here and I would wholeheartedly recommend this property to others. Finally I would like to take this opportunity to thank Helen for her assistance and kindness.

  we stayed at this accomadation late june10 until july10.everthing around the house was excellent for our vacation . there was fresh fruit ,milk and other frozen food in the freezer provided by the owner and other previous guests. we also left food and sundries we did not use for incoming guests. the facilities are spotless and the pool area is excellent there are barbacue faciltiesand the patio area to dine in is super.the bedrooms are exceptionally clean with very comforable all round seating inthe home. anexcellent librayof varios reading which includes maps and information of the area and other parts of california. in all every thing is there to make your vacation very enjoyable. ours certainly was for the 7 of us.as one who has stayed at some of the finest hotels both in britian and the usa when i was working. this was as good as it gets yours james surgenor from ireland

  This was such a cute house! The exterior photo does not give the correct impression of the size of the house. It is much bigger than you would suspect. The interior photos are a true representation of the accommodations which we found to be lovely. The house is well cared for and well stocked. There are even toys, games, movies, music and books available besides a pack-n-play for babies. I especially appreciated the quality of the linens as well as the little extras such a lots of afghans and blankets. Our grandchildren loved the fenced-in front yard and would have loved to get in the pool, but since it was March and unheated, the pool was not open yet. We did take advantage of the gas grill and had a lovely barbeque out by the pool. The house manager was always available by phone and left us a delicious bowl of fresh fruit and cookies along with invaluable information about the area, restaurants, shopping, and other attractions. We look forward to renting here again the next time we are in California.

  This was such a cute house! It is much bigger than you would think and well cared for. The interior photos are a true reflection of the accommodations. I especially appreciated the nice linens and the well stocked kitchen as well as the toys, music, movies, and books. Our grandchildren were delighted with everything but the pool since it was unheated and not available in March. We did enjoy using the gas grill for a family barbeque and the fenced-in front yard was perfect for an afternoon of yard games. Many thanks go out to Helen who was always available by phone and who left us with a delicious bowl of fresh fruit and cookies. We will certainly plan on renting again the next time we are in town.
