Lebanon Springs house description
This charming house and property on 6.5 acres on the Kinderhook Creek, offers the best of both worlds: Located in a beautiful and tranquil setting that's perfect for relaxing, writing and enjoying nature, it's also within close distance to all the culture, agricultural and skiing opportunities of the Berkshires and Hudson Valley. For fresh, healthy and delectable food, you're close to the Hawthorne Valley Biodynamic farm store, Guido's, a gourmet market in Pittsfield, a fabulous farmer's market of local vendors offering organic produce and grass fed meats.
Nearby activities include movie theaters, shopping malls, art museums -- The Clark, Mass MOCA and Norman Rockwell Museum--, an auction house in New Lebanon, two great restaurants within a 5 minute drive, plus Tanglewood, Lenox, MA and the Kripalu Yoga Center within a short driving distance. For skiers, you're close to Jimminy Peak ski area. 25 minutes by car will take you to North Adams, MA, Williams College and Chatham, NY. 40 minutes from Southern Vermont.
The house includes a wood-burning stove, deck off dining room with French doors, wrap-around screened-in porch, old fashioned claw-foot tub and fixtures in upstairs bathroom and laundry room with separate entrance that can be used to make herbal remedies, dry herbs or even as a small art studio.
The grounds include beautiful perennial flower gardens (peonies, roses, grape arbor, berry bushes), woodlands, a large meadow, on the Kinderhook creek (stocked with trout), a small stream that runs most of the year and small orchard (seckel pear, crabapple and apple). When there's enough snow cover, snow shoeing around the property is a fun way to get some exercise.

Wonderful Winter Wonderland!!
Wonderful Winter Wonderland!!
Our family had a wonderful time at this beautiful and cozy farmhouse. It was perfectly situated for our forays to the ski slopes in the Berkshires and Catskills. The house was so clean and well-appointed, we wanted for nothing. The property was so large, we didn't get to explore all of it's natural features. Do look for the owls in the wood!
