  The cottage was as advertised. Very clean, neat and comfortable. The beach was a short 2 block walk. The store was a 1 block walk and all shops and restaurants were within 4 blocks. Charleston was a short trip and great as usual. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone and would personally stay again. Also, try the Lost Dog Cafe for breakfast...it was great and just as advertised! Overall, we were very satisfied.

  My family and I were in town for a wedding over a long weekend. Our first time traveling with our 7 month old and couldn't have asked for a clean, comfortable, and exciting place to stay. We were amazed at the amenities that suited our needs. Ernie, the owner, greeted us at the house and gave us a quick tour. He even helped me out by lending me a belt that I had forgotten for the wedding. The house is nicely updated and clean. Although we experienced some bad weather, the yard looked perfect for relaxing in the sun or shade. We could hear the waves crashing from the bedroom!!!   The house was perfect. Clean, well kept, and convenient. Very short walk to beach, shops, and cafes. 4 year old daughter loved it. Less than 20 minutes to Charleston. Ernie has a great place there. Folly Beach is not the end of the world, but you can see it from there.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

  Four adults stayed here in April of 2013 and we had zero complaints. This is not a remote beach cabin so there is the occasional motorcyle or garbage truck. We had everything we needed--kitchen, tv, etc. We spent a lot of time on the large screened porch in the evenings. The location was ideal--three very short blocks to the beach, or two blocks to the main street with most of the restaurants and some shopping. This area is not at all overrun with developement and has a relaxed beach feel. It's about 15 minutes to the tourist stuff downtown. The owner lived nearby and was always available but he didn't hover.

  Owner response: Thanks for the great review! For the record, the house is actually only one block from Center Street. The 15 minute trip to town that was mentioned was to downtown Charleston.

  I almost didn't review our stay as I honestly want this to remain a secret and keep the bookings open for our visits to the area. Believe the other reviews folks, this is a great spot. Ernie does a super job and was very helpful, accessible too. The thing is, you won't need him for much, everything you need for a great vacation is within walking distance. The photos do reflect what you get and don't do it justice. I defiantly would stay here again.

  This house is the nicest we've stayed in on Folly, and we've rented several. I agree with all the positive reviews. Here is some other info you may find helpful. The street is quiet with an undeveloped lot across from the screened porch for a sense of privacy when relaxing on the porch or on the picnic table outside. The yard has some shade at any time of day, and is fenced completely. Although only 1 block from Center St, the street traffic is light with lots of dog walkers and bicyclists. Traffic picks up on weekends, of course. The interior is basically brand new, with great plumbing and water, new windows for quiet, and fresh paint, hardwoods, carpeted bedrooms, and new bathrooms. There is plenty of closet, dresser, and counter space for 2 couples to spread out comfortably. The beds are firm and luxurious and best of all, they are made up for you upon arrival! This is such a treat in a vacation rental. Everything you need to start your vacation is provided, and anything else you need is only a block away at Berts. The Piggly Wiggly grocery is just off the island at the first light, and is locally managed so well stocked with anything a vacationer might need. This is the first time we haven't stayed on the ocean or marsh, and I found it to be quite relaxing to be in a cozy neighborhood setting after a day at the beach, which is just steps away. This house offers a good value, too, with it's prime location, spotless interior, and Ernie's availability. If you've ever been dissatisfied renting from an agency, try this house. It's a pleasant, easy experience. Just what a vacation should be!

  We stayed at the house this past December, over Christmas. I was a great place, would definitely recommend it. Very clean, well maintained, good location, and the process was very organized with the owner. Folly beach is a wonderful spot and Charleston was surprisingly impressive! The house had everything that we needed and was very comfortable for four adults. Would recommend for families and couples who are looking for a relaxing holiday :)

  Folly's Best Kept Secret was just as we described - a great place for our stay. Close enough to walk to beach and restaurants. Ernie gave us helpful information about the Festival of Lights. And it was a good location to be able to visit the Morris Island Lighthouse Inlet to watch the sunrise. We had a wonderful weekend.

  Our family had the best time staying here during my kids fall break from school. We parked the car on Thur. and did not get back in it until we left on Sun. The house is awesome, the owner is super friendly ( on our next visit my boys are expecting a surf lesson), everything in the house is excellent quality (owner really maintain's the property well) and it just felt good to be there (almost like new). We couldn't have asked for a better location and I did not cook...at all! We walked to every restaurant and had free coffee in the mornings at Bert's grocery which is one block away. My kid's (6 & 8) did not complain one time about walking or anything else. Now they keep asking me when we are going back to "Ernie's Place" and I tell them sometime soon!

  Great location on a quaint beach; easy walk to beach, pier and town. Accurate descriptions and photos of location and property. Owner was generous with supplies; i.e.,detergents, bath soaps, tissues, beach towels, etc., as well as helpful throughout the rental process. A nice little house for a family of 4. Appreciated the portacrib and high chair!
