Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1989
Long time Vail sking Family. Bonnie is from Connecticut and Tom is from LA. We met in Denver in 1985 and soon discovered we both had been sking Vail since 1967. Married since 1988. One wild and crazy 21 year old son Matt. Matt has been skiing since he was two. He left us in the dust at the age of 12. We know the town and the mountain from our many years of sking and loving Vail.
Why the Owner Chose Sandstone 70
We love the Sandstone area of Vail. We call it the sunny side of town. We have a great view of the ski area. The free shuttle service is so easy and gets us to the lifts in minutes. Our family has skied many different areas but find Vail to be the best overall. There is no ski area that can match the back bowls of Vail.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
We like to be able to look at the ski area. We feel like we are in a small community in the Sandstone area. The parking is so easy as we own a parking space 10 ft from our door. Our Condo complex (Sandstone 70) was built in 1969 on over 4 acres of land so we have great open space huge trees and a creek that runs through our complex. The area is so quiet and yet close to all that Vail has to offer.

We have stayed here for two years in a row. It is a delightful place, sunny and warm. View of Vail mountain. Great king size bed, cozy kitchen with everything you need, has a breakfast bar that seats two. Additional dining table with view that seats four. Fabulous wood burning fireplace for cozy nights after a day of skiing. You can watch for the village bus rounding the corner and be out the door to catch it within seconds. So convenient. Walk down the sidewalk and over the pedestrian bridge and you're in Lionshead. The owners are fantastic and they will make your stay just perfect. We will book it again next year. Stay here, you won't be disappointed!
Owner response:Thanks to our wonderful Guests.

One year later and the condo is a great place to stay. We enjoy the location and the convenience to the bus. Bonnie and Tom will do what ever is necessary to make things perfect. If anything should go wrong they will bend over backwards to fix it and make it up to you. Looking forward to future visits. Thanks for your hospitality.

Wow what a great condo to stay in on a visit to Vail. The bus was extremely convenient and involved very little walking. The condo was exceptionally equiped and well maintained. We enjoyed it very much and hope to stay again next year.

Thanks for providing a great place to stay last weekend. After a summer of VRBOs in CO and NM ski towns (for mountain bike races), it was great to be in a place as homey and well kept as yours. And it was refreshing to have a very well stocked kitchen and decent quality utensils. I never thought of myself as a Vail kind of person, but the combination of the turning aspen and your condo might change that. (By the way, the mountain biking north of your condo is superb.)

We've rented many condos at ski areas and this was one of the finest. Everything we needed was there; the kitchen was well-stocked with the essentials, the rooms were very spacious and well-appointed, the bed was comfortable, parking was right at the door and the shuttle bus was directly across the street. Excellent overall experience. Hope to return.

I stayed in this lovely condo last January and loved it. It is very spacious and clean and directly across the street from the free skier shuttle. I highly recommend this unit, especially for skiing.
