We love this cozy house! The rooms are decorated so so cute, and everything was very clean. Gorgeous surroundings. Upstairs beds a bit too firm, downstairs bed is very comfortable. Location is right next to Rock City---for those of you that need a nice place to stay. I dont see how more than 8 people can sleep in this house. One minor negative detail--- no bar soap in the entire house! Although, this didn't keep us from having a wonderful time!

Owner response: Please know we appreciate our guests on leaving to report that their stay was both successful and enjoyable! Meanwhile, any constructive suggestion is always appreciated, with a full set of soap bars now in place.

The house was overall very fine and met our needs for a long weekend stay. It was very convenient to the national championship races - especially the road race up Lookout Mountain! The kitchen could have had a few more amenities - like muffin pan or 9 x 13 cake pan and more sizes of sauce pans. Cooking for a group was challenging. Also, the deck furniture cushions were squishy with water. The owners were very easy to work with and even let us have a later check-out on our last day. I would recommend the home for a group of people who get along very well.

Owner response: Thank you for taking the time to submitt a review. We have added additional baking/cooking pans to our kitchen!

We had a very pleasant visit and stay. The house was very charming and nicely decorated. The beds were comfortable and the overall accommodations were nice. Plenty of space to sit and visit with family as well as room for the kids to spread out and play. My only critique would be to maybe pack a pillow if you're not fond of feather pillows, but really they were quite comfy as well. Overall we had a great visit. The property owners are friendly and accommodating. We hope to re-book next time we're in the area.

We had a delightful weekend at this Lookout Mountain house. Our two families, one with one child and the other with two, were quite comfortable and content during our stay. Having seen only a few photos without much detail, we were pleasantly surprised by the beauty and the "room to breathe" inside when we arrived. Our two families have traveled together before and sometimes we have had to flip a coin to determine which couple will get the "good" bedroom in a rental house. But we found two great bedrooms here and a third bedroom that was just perfect for the kids. No need to flip a coin! We really liked the older charm of the overall house combined with modern updates in the kitchen and bathrooms. The house was nice and clean and we slept very comfortably. We also really enjoyed the mossy yard and the patios. The kids loved exploring the house (and, yes, throwing their clothes down the laundry shoot) and running around and playing in the yard. And, of course, it was wonderful to be able to walk over to enjoy Rock City in the day and then walk over to the Grandview for the wedding of our dear friends in the evening. We found the owner very easy to reach and pleasant to speak with. We will definitely consider staying at this property again for future visits.

Owner response: When two families, each with children, are willing to submit a review setting forth a whole list of reasons why they enjoyed their vacation in your VRBO house, the best response by any owner is simply to say "THANK YOU VERY MUCH!"

This house was a perfect choice for our family of 9. Each of the two upstairs bedrooms were large enough for up to two camping cots to be set up...for our kids. The mattresses in the upstairs bedrooms were very firm. There was also some inflatable air mattresses in the closet upstairs. The bedrooms were very roomy and two out of the three bedrooms had small TV's in them. The kids had a blast when they were able to drop their dirty clothes through the chute down to the lower floor laundry room. We spent a lot of time in the dining room where a large window looked out over the front yard. Even though it was spring break, we watched it snow through this window and on the warmer days, we could clearly see our kids jump from rock to rock in the yard. There were plenty of pots and pans in the kitchen where we cooked every meal here. There was a very nice Viking stove in the kitchen. The Internet was great and it worked just as well upstairs. We visited Rock City, which was just across the street. Ruby Falls and the Incline Railroad were also very close to this house. I also have to add that this house was very clean. Our kids ran around in their socks and they were not black on the bottom like many of the condo rentals was have rented in the past. The owner was wonderful to talk with as they shared how this house was a part of their family. If I were in the area again, I would definitely rent this house again. This house is old (built in the 1920's) and full of charm. Again, I love this home!

"We just returned home from our wonderful week-end stay at your charming home on Lookout Mt. It was the perfect place for us to be to fully enjoy our son's wedding at the Fairyland Club. So much nicer than staying in a hotel in town! We would love to come back when our week-end is freer to take in all of the sights. Thank you for sharing it with us."

I would not recommending staying at this house. We stayed in late January and Christmas decorations were still up in the house. Very pungent unappealing smell upon entering the home. The furniture was worn out and very ugly and old. The kitchen was filthy, even the pot holders had old crusted food on them. There were cracks in the dining room windows, kitchen windows and bedroom windows. There were also no draperies on the living room or kitchen windows, so there was no privacy at all. The parking lot for Rock City is directly across the street. People are walking past the front room windows all day. Everyone can see right in the house. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the linens were ugly and dirty. The pillowcase in the master bedroom had a name and room number on it. The linens obviously had been in a nursing home. There were hotel lamps on both sides of the bed on the wall with ripped shades. The other two lamps on the vanity did not work at all. The window sills were filthy. The draperies were filthy and there were cob webs all over.Everything was old, dirty and dingy. My daughter went to take a bath in the whirlpool tub and bugs were shooting out of the airjets in the tub. I took pictures of this. The tile around the living room fireplace was all cracked. The floors were dirty everywhere. What was probably one of the most disgusting things was the toilet bowl brush right next to the (clean?) towels under the cabinet. The stove in the kitchen was dirty. I called the owner twice and told her about the uncleanliness and the obvious safety issue of all of the cracked windows. She thanked me for my input.I was totally unhappy. She didn't even offer to give me back the cleaning fee I had to pay. If the house was taken care of it could be terrific. Remember people if you stay at a reputable hotel or cabin they will do everything to make the customer happy. In this case the owner DIDN'T CARE AT ALL if I was happy. If this house was clean and inviting I would have stayed here repeatedly. I do feel terrible that once the owner got my money she DIDN'T CARE at all. Please DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! There is NO southern hospitality once your credit card is approved. I also e-mailed her and as of yet there was no response. If this were my home I honestly would thank the person for telling me these things so I could immediately fix the problems. The bottom line is I had a miserable experience and the owner did NOTHING to rectify it. It was a great location though

Owner response: First, we feel saddened that anyone had a negative experience at our vacation rental. We will look into each and every matter; however, it must be pointed out we have only had satisfied guests for the now over 3 years we have offered our residence for vacationers.

We had a wonderful time staying in this beautiful home. We had plenty of room and enjoyed entertaining our family on Christmas Eve. There was a bit of a traffic issue due to the location across from Rock City (Holiday Lights Event) one evening, but most of the time that wasn't a problem. The house is comfortable and nicely decorated. We had a lovely Christmas on the mountain! We even had some snow flurries, which was a real treat (since we don't get those in Houston).

We had a delightful time staying in your little cottage on the mountain. It is across the street from Rock City and a quick drive to Ruby Falls/Zipstream. While our day on Sunday was rained out and the elevator broke at Ruby Falls so we couldn't see that either, we had a wonderful time just hanging out. The master is absolutely charming. The girls enjoyed their upstairs room (once we found the stairs!) and even the neighbors were very nice. The sun came out on Monday though and we had a great time with our friends at Zipstream. We will be back again...maybe it won't rain next time!

Just wanted to let you know we really enjoyed our stay in your home. With our son getting married at the Grandview, which was right across the street it was so convenient. The house was very cozy and we felt at home as soon as we walked in the door. Everything in the home was very lovely and any guest who came in complemented the home.
