Our newer Chalet has a year-round wooded setting that is very close to the Nubs Nob and Boyne Highlands ski resorts and the world class shopping, beaches, lakes, golf courses, and restaurants in the famous Petoskey-Harbor Springs area.
In WINTER the Chalet's location is exceptional since the Nubs Nob parking lot is just a long block away. Nubs was named Ski Magazine's #1 Ski facility in the Midwest for the last 3 years. (For more info see the Nubs Nob webpage) and the large Boyne Highlands Ski and Golf resort is just a mile away, and together these two great ski areas have over 100 ski runs!
SUMMER and FALL are always "high season" with the famous Harbor Springs/Good Hart/Cross Village area a few miles north and west, and Petoskey/Bay Harbor & Lake Michigan a few miles south, with many beaches, inland lakes, and great golf courses in-between.
And if you are not familiar with this wonderful area we have numerous "insider tips" and recommendations on restaurants and places to see and things to do.
The first floor of our spacious Chalet has a great room with a vaulted ceiling and large windows, a dining area with a table that seats 8, a modern fully equipped kitchen, a full bath with tub, a large entry/laundry area, and two good sized bedrooms each with closets and twin beds. The second floor has a comfortable loft area with stereo/TV/VCR/DVD, cable TV, broadband internet with WiFi, & movies and games;a large Master Bedroom (with a queen sized bed, large closet,vanity & sink,and desk); a fourth bedroom with twin beds and a closet, and a large bath with shower.
The Chalet is beautifully furnished and decorated and has a warm wood interior with many vaulted ceilings and skylights (night snow making can be seen from the master bedroom skylight). The kitchen is fully equipped, the laundry has a full-size washer & dryer, the entry area has ample places for coats and gear, and there is a large front and side deck with a table, chairs and a gas grill.
While the Chalet can sleep eight adults (three bedrooms with twin beds and a master bedroom with a Queen bed), the first floor great room and second floor loft also have couches that might be used for children.
This is not a typical rental property and is only available certain times throughout the year. PLEASE: No Pets and No Smoking. Families, adult groups and longer term guests are preferred... especially since our rates are favorable compared to other comparable accommodations.

My husband, myself, and another couple stayed in this wonderful chalet over Labor Day weekend. We were Up North for the Labor Day Bridge Walk at Mackinaw, but did not want to stay in the immediate Mackinaw City area. This chalet and location proved to be a wonderful choice. The listing presents the property very well. The chalet is very well furnished and had everything we needed during our stay. It provides a very warm and cozy environment for coffee and conversation in the mornings and a great place to unwind at the end of the day with a glass of wine, playing games at the awsome and unique dining table. The 2-story layout is perfect for two couples, allowing each to have their own space. The neighborhood felt very secure and people we saw on our morning walks were very friendly. The location, just a short drive to lakes, golf courses, shopping, dining, skiing was perfect for us.. So much to do, so little time to do it all. Thank you Dan and family for allowing us to use your wonderful Michigan vacation home. We hope to have the opportunity to visit again.

We rented this property while my husband & a few buddies were competing in the Michigan Amateur golf tournament. It's a very long & stressful week filled with golf from as early as 7:30am in the morning to as late as 9pm at night! Having this cottage to call "home" for the week made it so much nicer! No worrying about where to eat after a very long day! The beds were all very comfortable & they had all the amenities available (linens, paper products, soaps, etc). I reluctantly post this because I know the more popular it gets the less likely we'll be able to rent it again (which we're considering for the next tournament in September). I promise you won't be disappointed. That being said...the ONLY downside is there really is nothing to do if you don't golf (or ski I suppose). There is no fire pit outside & considering the wooded site, you probably wouldn't want to sit outside in nice weather without mosquito repellant!

Our family was so more than pleased to stay at this easily 'home away from home'! so close to both Nub's Nob and Boyne Highlands. Picturesque and private! All the amenities of home. It makes you scoff at hotels for the same cost!! This perfect 'landing' couldn't leave you asking for more. All the comforts of home and then some. We felt so welcome and comfortable....like we were renting from friends... you won't go wrong renting this perfectly situated and located - A-frame, up-north-cozy and well supplied, roomy 'lodge'. I hesitate to rave so much because I'd love to keep it secret!
