It was over too soon!!!!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It had everything we needed to make our stay confortable. The property was wonderful! We hiked all the trails and had piece of mind after seeing all the signs visable to ensure we stayed on track. The swings were great and a wonderful ammenity. After a long week in the city it was quite nice to see all the wildlife. Turkey, Deer, Herons and Hawks. We found ourselves spending alot the the time relaxing on the deck and sitting around the campfire, which was very peaceful at night. The only complaint is that I had to leave and go back to the city. We look forward to coming again when the weather is warmer and we can go tubing down the river.

THE BEST CABIN IN NORTH GEORGIA!!

Date of Stay: 08/02/11 Review Submitted: 08/15/11

I have stayed in natural settings all through North Georgia & there is none lovelier than this. Perfect peace & quiet, a lovely stretch of river to enjoy, unmatched privacy, & the cabins were both lovely spotless! I like how natural the cabins feel: beautiful, simple, placed so naturally in their settings just above the river with wonderful views. I am very impressed with the kindness of the hosts, who several times went above & beyond to accomodate me. They truly love this property & it shows! If you are at this website, look no further--you've found the perfect place to enjoy The Chattahoochie River at her best.

Perfect Rustic Cabin along the River.

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend with our dog and had the best time. Our 13 year old dog was like a puppy again running around and swimming in the river. A lot of attention to detail is given to the property grounds. For example, there is a tire swing located on top of the hills, landscaping along the paths, several places to fish, sit and read, or just enjoy the scenery. We took advantage of all the activities offered: fly fishing on the river, hiking all the trails with our dog, campfire at Starlight Cafe, grilling, and sitting around relaxing in the quiet beautiful surroundings. In the three days we stayed there we saw 4 turkeys, 2 deer, hawks, huge carp, many birds, and tons of turtles. The owners provide a book on turtles too, which I thought was a nice touch. One evening there was a short thunderstorm and the owner was thoughtful enough to call and check if everything was alright and we didn't loose power. (We did not loose power.) It is also close to Helen and surrounding attractions. Some of our favorite places were hiking to Anna Ruby Falls and Dukes Creek Falls, shopping at the Scandinavian store and candy store in Helen (the candy store has the best dark chocolate snappers/turtles) wine tasting, Old Sautee Store, and the mill at Nacoochee Village. If possible, I recommend going to Helen on a Friday afternoon/early evening. We drove through Helen on Saturday and it was very busy, river was jammed with tubbers, and traffic was at a snail's pace. We were very happy we chose Friday afternoon as the stores were not packed and we didn't have to wait at any restaurants. I will definitely come back and would recommend this to my friends.

Great getaway for us and the dogs!

We've rented the riverfront cabins several times over the last 2 years and always enjoyed our stay. The cabins are fairly rustic but the owners have done a great job of providing the little things that make the visit enjoyable. The property is beautiful and there are numerous trails and areas to relax and enjoy along the river. We've seen deer on most of our trips and our dogs think that it's paradise. The property description is very accurate, the owners have been great and we would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a rustic, remote cabin in the mountains.

Fall in the N. GA mountains

Cozy cabin #1 was a great starting point for strolling along the river, hiking the beautiful trails on the property, and star-gazing at night from the "starlight cafe" with a nice little campfire to warm us. Morning coffee on the deck overlooking the river was a perfect start to every day! Wildlife sightings included: river otters, deer, turtles, woodpeckers, turkey (ok, heard but not seen). Thanks for a great getaway.

If you love the outdoors, seeing deer, turtles, ducks, fish and the little forest creatures then this is the prefect place for a vacation. The winding river, indian trail trees and seemingly endless hiking trails along with a cozy cabin make this a place you will want to come back to again and again. We've seen it in the fall and look forward to returning in the spring. It's also a dogs paradise where they may be free to run and play. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time here and plan on many future vacations here.

This is my favorite vacation destination. I have been coming to the River Cabins for years and I am so grateful for the privilege. The location is beautiful and very private- positively perfect for anyone who loves the outdoors and especially for dog-lovers. This is the only place I know of where my dogs can run free on 75 acres and swim in the Chattahoochee and I don't have to worry about cars or neighbors. They love going hiking off-lead as well as goofing off in the river while I sit in the swing by the river with my picnic lunch and my book. The dogs and I are already looking forward to our next visit and it can't come soon enough!
