A delightful retreat awaits for the person or family who rents this camp for a long weekend, week or even the season!
Nestled in the Adirondack Park on the winding Black Creek is a cozy cabin for all seasons. A slight walk down a private path and you can launch a canoe from the landing or troll for fish from a rowboat while you cruise along the winding creek, while looking at the abundant wildlife or maybe even catching enough fish for dinner.
During the summer month you are a short drive to the State Park on Hinckley Lake for swimming or sunbathing. Old Forge, Water Safari and a climb up Bald Mountain are an hours drive away. Fall, you just need to sit on the deck and see miles of gorgeous NY State finest foliage. Winter months skiers will take advantage of how close they are to McCauley Mountain, Snow Ridge and Gore Mountain. They are within driving distance for a day on the slopes. Snowmobilers are 500 feet from the snowmobile trails maintained by the Ohio Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club.
The open floor plan of this cabin allows everyone to be part of the action. The cabin comes completely equipped. A wood burning stove provides atmosphere and additional warmth during the winter months or on a chilly Fall evening. The combination living room/dinning room area and kitchen offer a beautiful view of the sunset, the ravine bordering the creek and the starry moonlit sky at night. A large, comfortable screen porch is a great place to sit in the rocking chair or on the glider with a good book. It's also a great place for a card game or puzzle making. The deck faces the south, which offers a private place for tanning and for passive solar heat in the winter months.
If there is a gambler in the crowd, Turning Stone Casino is an hours drive west on Route 365.

Dates of stay, April 27th to May 4th (one week) Harry and Lynn, Copake, NY We arrived Saturday about noon and met the owner Paul Paul showed us around and answered any questions we had. Paul suggested we try a inn just a few miles away on route 8 for dinner, we had the rib eye special and it was great. The weather was absolutely fantastic for Late April with temps in the mid seventies and sunny skies pretty much the whole stay. We did some canoeing and enjoyed the serenity of nature. We also took in the sights up in Old Forge, speculator, and Indian Lake area. The camp had everything we needed and much more. We really enjoyed playing pool and shuffleboard in the evening. The outdoor fireplace added that extra touch. The views are spectacular. Needless to say, we enjoyed every minute of our stay and want to thank Paul and his wife Barbara for being our hosts and their hospitality. We hope to return again soon this Fall. If you are looking for peace, quiet and just to get away from the grind, Black Creek Landing certainly tops the list in my book of places to go. Thanks Paul, we hope to see you soon. Best Regards, Harry and Lynn GOwner response: Thank you for your kind words! We are so glad that you both enjoyed yourselves. We are also glad that the weather was beautiful for your stay. We look forward for you coming back in the Fall, which is the best time of the year to visit Black Creek Landing. Thanks again. Paul Grimaldi Black Creek Landing

Both my husband and I turned 50 the same week this year. We LOVE the Adirondack area so we couldn't think of a more perfect place to celebrate, just the two of us. The cabin was absolutely perfect. We had everything we needed right there. The surroundings are beautiful. There was a good bit of snow on the ground when we arrived so we did not make it down to the creek but we are planning to come back possibly for a summer trip to fish and canoe. Thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise with us to celebrate the big "50". Kathleen & Chris JohnsonRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Kathleen & Chris! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Black Creek Landing. We look forward to having you visit again this summer. We are planning on purchasing a couple of bikes that you may include into your activities. There are many dirt roads through the forest, one in particular that leads to the State Park Beach. Thanks again for choosing Black Creek Landing and it was my pleasure to share it with you on your special days Paul Grimaldi Black Creek Landing

My wife, 2 young children and myself needed a last minute relaxing getaway, and we got it in this cabin. The drive itself on the back roads of the Adirondacks set our minds into a relaxed state. The cabin had everything we needed to have fun as a family. Even though it was late march we took the row boat out on the wide and winding creek, we had a blast. The wood stove puts out a tremendous amount of heat to keep the cabin nice and toasty, not that it needed it with a furnace. The owners went out of there way to open the cabin just for us, even last minute, it we really appreciated! Thanks for opening your cabin to us, we will keep you in mind for the future!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: It was our pleasure to have you at the Cabin. We are happy you enjoyed yourselves. We look forward to seeing you again. Thanks again

About the owner: My father built the Family Camp in 1936. Nestled above the Black Creek in the Town of Grant it was a rustic summer home for my 4 brothers and sisters and my folks. There are many wonderful childhood, into adult memories contained within its walls. Laughter of children at play, adults sharing a game of pinochle or just sitting reading a good book. When I was a kid I remember going down to the "fishing place" for a swim and to tease the girl cousins that were in swimming. I was the youngest of the cousins, so that was my job to tease the girl cousins. The camp has grown-up over the years with many improvements. In the past 5 years or so i have been painstakingly renovating, which is one of my hobbies, with the idea of renting it out. It has become much more than a summer place of refuge and adventure. There are many things that prospective renters can look forward to do at Black Creek Landing. Renters can spend their time fishing in the Black Creek, canoeing or row-boating down it's quiet waters. There is even enough land to ride ATV's. In the winter months the renters can cross-country ski, toboggan down the hill to the creek and snowmobile along the many trails nearby. If you close your eyes and think of a place to go where all is right with the world, "Black Creek Landing" is the place to be any time of the year.
Why the Owner Chose Hinckley Lake:
It was left to me and my siblings by my parents after their deaths. About 5 years ago my brothers and sister came to me and offered their shares to me because they didn't want the responsibility of ownership any longer. They knew how much I loved the "Camp" so it wasn't a difficult offer for me to accept.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The tranquil & peaceful surrounding of the Northern air is the best "medicine" after a long stressful week of whatever you may do in the City you're from. I guarantee it!
