  What a great place! I was there a week, and it was very nice to be able to come and go without hearing lots of noises like you would in a hotel. The place you stay is not attached to the main residence so you have plenty of privacy. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom quite large. There is an AC in one bedroom but I didn't use it. Instead, I would open up the sliding glass door and let the wind cool me down. I wish I could do that at home, it was very relaxing! The living room is plenty big enough and the couch is nice to sit on. The kitchen has a full set of dishes and any kind of utensil you could want, including a pineapple cutter. The town of Kailua is the perfect place to be. It's close distance to almost everything without being in a busy, clustered city. Honolulu is only minutes away, and it's easy to drive up teh coast. I think it's the prime location to stay on the island. Leonard has 4 beautiful, friendly dogs that I just loved. I would have been happy to have them snuggle up on the bed with me! If you aren't a dog person, no worries; the dogs are kept inside a fence and you don't really see or hear them unless Leonard brings them out. Overall a great place to stay, and one I would stay at again. It truly felt like a home. The only thing missing was a tree with a coconut falling on my head! Thank you Leonard, for helping to make my trip quite memorable.

  Our family of four, including two teenage boys, recently returned from staying at the Tradewinds Bungalow. Everything was just as written on the website. The kitchen was new and well-stocked, the bedrooms comfortable, and everyhting was very clean. The beautiful beach was a short drive away, you could easily have walked. We enjoyed the beach equipment provided. Leonard was especially helpful and accomodating. In the town of Kailua, you'll find many new and recognizable stores and restaurants. If you want a small town, neighborhood experience, I would highly recomment the Tradewinds Bungalow.

  What a great find! Leonard's bungalow has everything you'll need for a relaxing and stress-free vacation. Yes, the kitchen is a bit small but its very functional. And no, its not overlooking the ocean. But for the rates Leonard charges, this was a great deal! Located in a lovely, safe neighborhood it is spotlessly clean and bigger than it looks. The bedrooms are very nice: new, comfortable queen beds with lovely bedding, 2 Flat Screen TVs with ALL the cable channels you'd ever want (great way to catch up on your favorite HBO and Showtime programs in the pm). And lot's of important amenities: beach towels, beach chairs, toys, and front load washer/dryer right outside your door with good old fashion clothes lines to hang up all the wet gear after a day on the beach (no dripping messes in the cottage). Its only a quick 10 min walk to Kailua Beach. We loved walking the entire beach from the north end all the way to the end of Lanakai. Leonard is a wonderful host: Friendly, helpful, accessable and professional. It was a pleasure doing business with him. Overall, a great stay. I recommend it highly!

  Despite rain, my vacation visiting my son and daughter-in-law was fantastic. Leonard was a very pleasant and accomodating host. The rental unit was clean and inviting. The lanai was perfect for relaxing and bbq. Can't wait to return but will chose a different time of year next time as I have encountered rain, hail, tornados and a tsumani on my last two visits to Oahu in 2011 and 2012. I hope I'm not the jinx.

  Tradewinds Bungalow worked out great for our family of 3. Nice layout with the 2 bedrooms, kitchen, and living space. No tub in the bathroom but there is a deep kitchen sink if your toddler only takes baths! Laundry access right outside our door was fantastic. AC is available but we found we only needed to use the ceiling fans. The street was quiet with very little traffic, unlike other members of our family who stayed in rental units along very busy roads. Kids playground within walking distance. Leonard, the owner, was very nice to talk to, answered our questions, and provided us with large beach towels that we used daily. We also had access to beach toys and a small life jacket that fit our 2 year old perfectly. We would certainly recommend Tradewinds Bungelow to others. Maholo Leonard!

  Our family of five just got back from our dream vacation staying here. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The washer and drier was awesome and not found at most places. Being an ex Kailua resident I was coming home and I felt at home in this beautiful bungalow. Leonard is helpful and is great host. Thank you Leonard we will be back.

  Spent a week in our lovely town of Kailua and staying at the Tradewinds Cottage made it so much more pleasant. Spacious, clean, great location! Within walking distance to Kalapawai Market and Island Snow. We loved having 2 bedrooms and the washer/dryer on site is a big bonus. Leonard, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. We had a great time and highly recommend this vacation rental. Mahalo Leonard for helping making our trip home so memorable. Kailua No Ka Oi.

Children two years and older are $10 each. Less than 2 years of age are
free. Tax of 13.962% will be charged.  We accept Visa and Mastercard.
5 day minimum unless fewer days are available between other bookings.
We do not charge a cleaning fee of $60 unless stay is 4 nights or less.
One bedroom has AC.  With 4 adults, I make a second full bathroom
available at no extra charge. A third bedroom with AC and a double size bed
