Kapoho Ponds “Upstairs” is located in the highly desirable, ever-sunny gated Kapoho Beach Lots subdivison. This vacation home has its own swimmable warm pond that 90 degrees YEAR ROUND! And if you want to snorkel with honu (sea turtle), the best place is only steps away – Champagne Pond. Champagne Pond is a protected cove that is open to the Big Blue Pacific, and you’ll be just steps from some of the most spectacular snorkeling found on the Big Island. Green sea turtles (honu) love this area because of its warm temperatures and so will you! From the house, you can hear the waves and smell the clear breeze blowing across the Pacific (cleanest air in the US). Yes, this is Paradise!
Just a five minute drive down the famous Red Road is the Ahalanui Warm Spring Park which is a geothermally heated swimming pond at the edge of the Pacific Ocean. Since Kapoho is located at the furthest most eastern edge of the Big Island, it enjoys drier weather and those comfortable ocean trade winds. Just a ten minute drive is the quaint and historical village of Pahoa with its original boardwalks, shopping, and fantastic dining! There’s Italian, Thai and even Tex-Mex!
Kapoho Ponds Upstairs can sleep up to 6. There are three spacious bedrooms and one and 1/2 bathrooms. The master bedroom has a Queen bed, the 2nd bedroom has a queen and the third bedroom has two twins. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to fix up a traditional island meal. Other amenities to make your stay more comfortable are a washer/dryer, Flat screen Satellite TV, DVD player, telephone, and of course all linens and kitchenware included.

We stayed at this unit for four nights. We really enjoyed the area! The private pond was great. Our children enjoyed swimming in it. We also enjoyed snorkeling at Champagne Pond and the "Vacationland" area. This was some of the best snorkeling we have enjoyed in Hawaii, and we have snorkeled many places. Lava Tree State Park was also great as well as the very lush vegetation along the highways. The house was nice although the main bed was a bit too soft for our comfort. We thought it was a great value for the money. The location was relaxing and unique.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.
