Marais - 1 Bedroom Attic Hideout - Ideal Location
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This elegant air-conditioned rooftop property is a 24 m2 (approximately 250 ft2) cozy hideout, perfect for a romantic vacation. It is the only apartment on the 6th and last floor of a traditional Parisian building (sorry, no lift!). It is situated in the heart of the Haut Marais, right behind the old covered “Carreau du Temple” market. It is a very short walking distance (approx. 10 minutes) from the Picasso Museum and the Pompidou Center, and approximately 15 minutes from Place des Vosges. For the exact location, please see the map.
There is a direct bus (96) taking you to Notre Dame, Saint Germain des Près and the Left Bank, the bus stop being 1 minute away on the same block, and direct metro taking you to Bastille, the Opera, Madeleine, Concorde and Invalides (Line 8-Filles du Calvaire station 1 minute away). A block further, you can get anywhere in the city from République station, a major intersection of metro lines and buses. The Rue de Bretagne two blocks away is a market street, hosting the city's oldest covered market, the 'Marché des Enfants Rouges', open every day except Sunday afternoon and Monday. Many hip bars and restaurants are within short walking distance, and the trendy rue Charlot with its young designers’ boutiques and vintage fashion shops is literally 1 street away. The farthest you will need to walk to get anywhere in the Marais will be 15 minutes.
The apartment has been entirely renovated in 2007 and is fully furnished and equipped, individually heated by electric heaters in each room. It is suitable for hosting 2 GUESTS MAXIMUM (and eventually a child/adolescent).***Thank you in advance for respecting the apartment's capacity when making your inquiry.***
You enter the apartment through a patio area which has been converted into a winter garden, where a breakfast table and chairs allow you to take advantage of the sunshine coming down from the glass roof all year long. This is also the only smoking area, the apartment itself being non-smoking.
The living room has a double-glazed, soundproof skylight, facing east. The apparent beams and inclined rooftops are a trademark of Parisian charm, and you will be able to fully enjoy them lying on the comfortable couch, which is also a single bed. You will find high-speed Internet access, 200-channel TV, DVD player, phone for local calls and stereo. Plenty of reading material as well as guidebooks about the city are at your disposal.
The kitchen, very bright due to another skylight, opens into the living room and is fully equipped with oven, microwave, stove and refrigerator/freezer. You also have at your disposal a toaster, espresso and filter coffee machines and kettle, as well as full place settings. In the same space, a table and two chairs create a cozy dining area.
The bedroom has a double bed with brand new mattress, feather pillows and a duvet, all made of organic materials. From the skylight, you have a great view of Parisian rooftops. There is a large closet, fully equipped with shelves and hangers for your belongings and plenty of space for your luggage. Bed linen and towels are of course provided.
The bathroom, highlighted by another antique wooden beam, is nautically inspired, with natural light coming in from a small window, bathtub, teak floor and wooden details. You will find a washer/dryer, hair dryer and first necessity items from L'Occitane at your disposal.
You will be greeted personally to exchange keys and receive explanations how everything works. I live in the same building and will always be at your disposal to give you advice and information about the city, or help you out should you need anything. You will also find in the apartment a comprehensive guidebook of the property and the area, as well as a guestbook and my personal restaurant recommendations.

Dear Christiana, Thank you so much for your hospitality. We've had the most lovely long weekend in the Marais! It's been such a perfect base to explore the city. We loved the bakery 134 RDT & highly recommend "Le Reminet" near Notre Dame & l'As du Falafel in the Marais. Thank you again & hope to see you again in Paris when we return - as soon as possible! All the best & A bientôtDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Dear Christiana & Janet, Thank you for 3 wonderful weeks here in Le Marais. We loved the location, the view and the good book collection. The aircon saved our lives during the heat wave here in August! We very much enjoyed the cafés at rue de Bretagne and romantic walks by the SeineDid you find this review helpful? Dear Christiana, We've had a wonderful stay in the apartment - all three of us! It was lovely for me and Chris as a couple and then great fro me and my best friend, Kirsti. Le Marais is a great neighborhood and it was so easy to get around this fantastic city. Thank you for the very smooth process of booking and arriving and for your warm welcome to Paris. I'll definitely be back to this beautiful spot.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Dear Christiana, Thank you for a wonderful little nest that we could stay in whilst exploring Paris and Le Marais. There was nothing nicer than to come up to "Beams" on an afternoon/evening and thaw out in the warmth and coziness. So simply and beautifully decorated, and the old beams remind us of the gorgeous Parisian buildings that surround. So many great cafés, boulangeries, boutiques etc.etc.near by! There is still way too much left to explore, and we hope to make "Beams" our pit-stop once again soon! P.S. Can't thank you enough for your hospitality and understanding!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
