Port Clinton condo description
Beautiful, very clean, nonsmoking third floor condo located at the Waterfronts Resorts right over the drawbridge from the Jet Express, your fastest access to world famous Put-In-Bay. This condo has been recently remodeled and shows like new. Our condo includes a queen size bedroom set in the master bedroom, washer and dryer, air conditioning, and a full kitchen including dishwasher and microwave oven. Other sleeping accommodations for guests/kids include a sleeper couch in the living room and two fold-away beds. The harbor room has a gorgeous view of the Lake Erie Islands, our private beach and the Port Clinton Yacht Club Marina. The harbor room entrance is steps away from the sandy beach and pool. Our large pool and hot tub are brand new as of 2008. The pool includes built-in bench seats for the adults and a zero-entry feature for the small children. Charcoal grills can be found on the common areas which allows for setting up chairs and tables for outdoor dining or pure relaxation. The grounds of the resort are very kid friendly and includes plenty of green space and a playground as well. The sandy beach area is protected by a cove so that the shallow water and sandbars make ideal swimming conditions in the lake for small children.
Access to water sports abound, with jet ski and kayak rental right next door and fishing charters and dock rental for your boat across the street and within walking distance. Use the beautiful private beach with lounge chairs provided to relax and enjoy the sun. The downtown Port Clinton area is within walking distance and includes restaurants, shopping and night life. You can park your car for the week and start having fun!
Many other attractions are minutes away, including Marblehead Lighthouse, Mon Ami and Firelands wineries, historic Johnson's Island, African Safari Wildlife Park, Monsoon Lagoon Waterpark, Lakeside resort community, East Harbor State Park where you can take long hikes along the beautiful historic beach and relive history reading the plaques that recount the history of the Lake Erie shoreline.
The Jet Express ferry boat is a short two minute walk across the drawbridge from our resort. They are advertised as the fastest way to get to South Bass Island and Put-N-Bay. Once on the islands, you can rent a bike or golf cart and tour South Bass Island with its wineries, caves, restaurants, bars and many shops. The Division of Wildlife operates a fish hatchery on the island which is very educational and ideal for kids. Also on the island is the historic Perry's Monument which stands 352 feet tall. It was established to honor those who fought during the War of 1812. Experience the breathtaking view from the observation deck. On a clear day Canada, Cleveland and the surrounding islands are visible. Two other ferry boats are located nearby on Catawba and Marblehead that allow you to take your vehicle over to the islands.
The birdwatchers in your family will love to visit Magee Marsh Wildlife Area. This 2,202-acre controlled hunting area is located 17 miles west of Port Clinton. Spring and fall migrations are spectacular at Magee Marsh, with more than 300 species of birds being recorded in the area. Bald eagles, peregrine falcons, osprey, and a large variety of hawks can be seen at Magee Marsh during the spring. A forested beach ridge located on Magee provides a critical feeding and resting habitat for more than 150 species of migrating songbirds, including 36 species of warblers, as they rest and refuel before continuing on their journey. An accessible boardwalk that meanders through this beach ridge provides some of the best bird watching opportunities in the Midwest.
If you have kids and are looking for a little more excitement, world famous Cedar Point amusement park, with 17 roller coasters, live entertainment, kids' area and a water park, is located about 20-25 minutes away. Other indoor waterparks in the Sandusky area include Kalahari and Great Wolf Lodge.

Loved this condo, great location and view! There is a great restaurant ( Docks) just next door that is right on the beach and the food is very good. The Jet Express(to get to Put-in-Bay or Kelleys Island) is a short walk in the other direction, and a bit farther is a great cafe for coffee/breakfast/lunch. The breeze off the lake blows into the sun room windows and is wonderful! (We were able to turn off the air conditioner and not have the noise.) The private beach is very nice, but the lake is very shallow a long way out. Very nice, well kept pool for actual swimming. This unit is very near the pool and beach access, so you do hear the people out there, but is was nothing that bothered us and was quiet by bedtime. Overall great place to relax and enjoy the lake!

Home away from Home!
Home away from Home!
My family and I go up to the waterfront condos every year, it's a family tradition stemming from my husbands side of the family for 30+ years now. We have stayed in this same condo for 3 out of the last 4 years of our visits and it's by far the nicest condo we have been in. The views are spectacular and the condo is so homey and clean. From the moment we walk in....we feel like we are at home!!

Very Nice Condo
Very Nice Condo
We were a party of 5 (3 adults and 2 children). When we arrived we were very pleased at how clean the condo was. There is plenty of sleeping room. We used the 2 roll aways and the grandkids thought they were great! I would bring blankets if your child has a favorite. They are provided but were the scratchy kind. Towels were provided but only 6, so we would have brought more as to not have to wash them so much. Everything is nicely supplied. The view is wonderful. The grounds were kept very clean and the pool and pool area were cleaned every morning we were there. I cannot stress how nice and efficient the owner is when renting from him. My husband came up for a day and was so impressed by the condo also. Great restaurants we enjoyed were McCarthys Pub, Docks, and Cameo pizza. They were all very good. The kids loved the popcorn factory. We would definitely rent this again.

A Very Nice Place
A Very Nice Place
My husband and I and our 3-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son stayed at this condo recently for a few days. It was perfect for us because it had all we needed to relax and entertain our 2 little ones. The condo was very clean which was very important to us as our 1-year-old eats everything he finds! So we really appreciated that first and foremost. Moreover, the view was wonderful as we all enjoyed watching the boats and if one parent stayed behind with one child napping, he/she could still enjoy watching the other parent and child in the pool or on the beach! The pool was also very clean and perfectly maintained. It was great that it was heated because the air was kind of cool, but the pool was very comfortable. My daughter absolutely loved the pool time with Daddy. We did go to the nearby African safari which was a hit with all of us. I highly recommend it. Pack a picnic so you can take your time and see all of the walk thru area, too. One evening we went to nearby Docker's restaurant but didn't feel it was very "family friendly", so we left and instead went a few miles to "Crosswind's" restaurant. MUCH better and the food was yummy and reasonably priced. We went to many playgrounds, as there's one at the complex, one down the road across the street from the lake and we went to a great one at Put-N-Bay. We really enjoyed our time and would definitely recommend this place for families with small children! Also, the owner was very easy to work with; very responsive and helpful. Thanks, Rich! = )

Wonderful Panoramic View
Wonderful Panoramic View
My wife, grandson and I enjoyed our stay. I don't know how you could find a better view in that area. We liked the fact that we could fish at the pier because it was so close. Anything you need is very close and convenient to get to. Even though it was late July and hotter than normal, there was usually a nice breeze coming off the lake. It is like going to Florida without the palm trees and excessive heat and long drive.

My sons and I had an incredible week at the lake over the 4th of July. The condo was exactly as described. We have rented 3 different units at the Waterfront Condos complex and this one was spectacular. We absolutely love this location in Port Clinton. It is a very quaint old fishing community and the locals are very friendly. This is the best place to watch fireworks on the 4th.....you can see them all around the lake. Very convenient location as well..park and walk or ride bikes.

This is a very nice condo. The view is really, really wonderful!. The condo is very clean and well kept. Like home away from home. The sun room is really nice to sit in at watch the boats on the lake and take in the view. The beach is nice for the little ones to play on and if you want to take a stroll. Best place to swim is the pool which is great. The pool has a nice shallow end for the little ones and it has seating ledges around the pool so you can sit in the pool and socialize if you want, but is big enough to do swimming laps if you want to. Walmart is a short, easy to find drive away if you forget anything.

Two thumbs up!
Two thumbs up!
What a nice weekend we had at this condo! It is tasteful, clean, well-equipped, and well-situated on the shoreline of Lake Erie. Our family of 5 (we have 3 elementary-aged kids) slept comfortably with use of the pull-out sofa and single roll-away bed. Even though the pool was not yet open the kids had a great time on the sandy strip of beach, playing in the sand--they had the place to themselves! Richard was definitely helpful and friendly, and we're really glad he mentioned the Magee Marsh wildlife area. We happened upon the biggest birding week of the season there! We will recommend this property to our friends (and have already passed on the number to our extended family.)
