  Wonderful little place to stay - spotlessly clean on arrival and great help from the owner pre arrival. The apartment is ideal for couples with downstairs living area offering plenty of space (and a good selection of videos/DVDs if you wanted a night in). Upstairs was great - comfortable bed... no noise as its off the main street but close enough to walk to everything... Don't bother looking elsewhere - do yourself a favour and book this - ideal for couples Thank you Janet for providing such a relaxing spot ... only sorry we had booked elsewhere after our 4 nights or we would have loved to stay longer Martin & Margaret

  I stayed here with my boyfriend for a week in June and we couldn't have been happier. It was so well maintained and nicely furnished, we found it very comfortable for the week we were there. It is really close to everything, too. I hate driving around new places and this was a big draw for me, the beach right down the path, Bert's market right down the street, and restaurants a block away. And it seemed like anywhere we wanted to go in Charleston was a short drive away. Janet and Susan were very responsive and helpful anytime I needed to ask a question, too. Highly recommended!

  This beach rental was very nice and comfortable, but forget about relaxing. $200 "littering" fine for falling asleep on the beach with a half-full coke can next to one's head. Another $200 fine for parking 14 feet, not 15 feet, from a fire hydrant. Our homeowner was nearly hysterical that all four of our tires were not completely on her brick parking pad and off the road. Apparently I was just asking for a fine, again. She preceeded to tell me about the many awful things that tourists do. When I told her about the ticket my husband had received that day she said, "Wow, the city made more money off of you than I did." South Carolina has many beautiful beaches; I will not return to Folly.

  Owner response: Well I must admit I am a bit bewildered. I was told the ticket was for $500.00 for having a dog on the beach between the hours posted as illegal on all the beach walkovers. It is hard to keep people from receiving tickets for rules like only plastic containers on the beach (NO CANS OR GLASS - NO SHOWING ALCOHOLIC DRINKS - KEEP IN COOLER AND POUR IN PLASTIC CUPS - PARK WITH ALL FOUR TIRES OFF ROAD WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC FOR YOUR LANE - NO DOGS ON THE BEACH BETWEEN 9 AM TO 6 PM - CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR PET, NO FIREWORKS ON FOLLY ISLAND) AND MY RULE CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF, FRIENDS, AND FAMILY. WE WHO LIVE HERE WILL BE HAPPIER TO SEE YOU EACH SUMMER. As far as I know parking next to any yellow curb or too close to a fire hydrant is a state law. We hate for anyone to have to pay these kind of fines but the sad thing is people forget to check local laws. With five colleges in Charleston and so many young people, who are learning life's lessons the hard way ** YES, THEY WILL FINE YOU. ** All rentals on Folly Beach are required to have FOLLY BEACH RULES posted. I have them on the refrigerator doors and on the coffee table. Parking rules are posted by each entrance door. No owner wants the city to make more than us because we strive to have a happy visitor who will be a repeat customer. Think Folly Flamingo, Janet

  This is a great rental! Incredibly clean. Incredibly close to everything Folly has to offer! And, most importantly, such a comfortable bed! Perfect for a couple. We will definitely be back!

  My husband and I stayed for a long weekend at Folly Flamingo. The house is delightfully decorated, The beds are very comfortable and the owner has taken every step to make sure a guest is well pleased. This is by far the cleanest property I have ever stayed in at Folly Beach.The garden and the decks are wonderful and make this a very private place in spite of being close to town. We loved being close to the beach and the shops as well.I highly recommend this property!

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

April and May the lilies will be colorful, sweet jasmine June and July, passion plants bloom through the summer, and butterfly return in the fall.   This is a lovely place to stay. Clean, beautifully decorated, very nice amenities. The location is wonderful and the bed and bedding are very comfortable as are the bathroom accommodations. The wireless internet works well. The location near the beach and Charleston is great. I would highly recommend this property. The only caveat that I would add is that the spiral staircase from the lower to the upper level indoors could represent a problem for some.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

  We stayed for the week around Labor Day. The Sunburst Suite was perfect for 2. Super cute garden surrounding the property. VERY close to the beach- not oceanfront but only a 1-2 minute walk. Great distance from Folly nightlife and restaurants (be sure to visit Lost Dog Cafe just a couple blocks away- great food, perfect sweet tea). Comfortable bed. If you don't mind waking up a little early, the suite's stained glass is perfect for filtering the sun to gently wake you (we were up around 8 each morning). The bathroom is off the bedroom and doesn't have a completely closed wall so if you're super shy about the shower/bathroom, this might not be the place for you. The beach here is great for surfers or boogie boarders. Head a couple miles to the northern end of the island to enjoy wildlife and the Morris Island Lighthouse. Loved our week there. Couldn't believe how quickly it went. We'll be sure to be back!
