Great Guana Cay apartment description
Just a stones throw away from white sand beaches you'll find Rainbow Parrot house, a colorful cottage located on a beach front property. You cannot actually see the beach, but you can hear it. You’ll enjoy wooded, private seclusion and amazing amenities — while being only a few steps from Great Guana Cay’s famous miles-long beach on the Atlantic, the settlement and famous Nipper's Beach Bar and Grill.
From the moment you step inside, Rainbow Parrot House puts you in a good mood.
We’ve decorated in a Caribbean style, featuring a whimsical frog theme. There’s amazing artistic details throughout the home — a sea glass table, local paintings and lots of colorful frogs in all shapes and forms, on the walls, on shelves and even as door knobs. We guarantee you this cottage will bring a smile to your face.
It’s nestled together with three more apartments in two houses, on a large beach property. If you’re traveling with a large group, consider renting the entire complex. If you’re traveling alone, there’s plenty of privacy. Common areas include a barbecue and spacious outdoor seating under a large palm branch umbrella.
Great Guana Cay is a quiet island with only about 150 full-time residents. For years, visitors have enjoyed its quiet seclusion, good times and gorgeous views. In fact, it’s become a popular destination for celebrities too — you never know who you’ll see on Guana Cay.
And you’ll be able to enjoy just about everything Great Guana Cay has to offer within a simple stroll of your vacation home. Walk a few steps over the sand dune to stroll on the Atlantic Ocean beach. Find that perfect shell, build a beautiful sandcastle, run, surf or snorkel. Refuel at the famous Nipper's Beach Bar and Grill — on the neighboring property. Yet, the cottage is private. Try the handful of other restaurants and bars on the island or stock up for your own feast at the grocery and liquor stores — everything is within a 10 minute walk.
This proximity means you don’t have to rent a golf cart — the primary means of transportation on Guana Cay — if you don’t want to. Should you choose to, you’re only a short walk from the rental location. Bikes, boats and kayaks are also available for rental, should you choose to explore Guana Cay and The Sea of Abaco at a slightly slower pace.
Perhaps best of all, while you are close to just about everything, you’ll feel a world away at Rainbow Parrot House. A private road dead ends at the property, so you’re well away from the hustle and bustle of the settlement — even though you’re really only a short walk down the hill from it.
Fly into Marsh Harbour (MHH), take an eight-minute taxi ride to the ferry terminal and then a short 35-minute ferry ride to Great Guana Cay. Make sure you check the schedules before you book your flight — there are several ferries each day, but the times change seasonally (Right now, the last one leaves Marsh Harbour at 5:45 p.m.). When you arrive, we’ll pick you up from the ferry dock in a golf cart and help you get settled into your home.

The hardest part about staying here was slowing down. This was just the trip that we needed. Unni was fantastic to deal with prior to our arrival, met us at the pier when we arrived and made sure we knew where everything was so we could settle in and enjoy our stay. The property was spotless. If you are looking for excitement and nightlife, you may want to go somewhere else, but if you are looking for a getaway from the hectic world, on an quiet peaceful part of the world with some of the nicest people then come here. The beach is wide and long an pretty much deserted most of the time. FYI, this property shares the fence with world famous Nipper's Bar which can be dangerous!! We will be back!!
