We loved everything about the house. The authentic beachy exterior, the roomy living room / kitchen area, tastefully decorated rooms and all the commodities (TV in every room, beach towels in closet, a couple of bikes, beach chairs, etc.). And very. very short walk to the beach.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Even positive attributes of home could not compel me to give a high rating due to how filthy it was!

When booking the owner was nice, responsive to questions, let us check-in early Sunday & gave option to extend stay for Friday night - which gave us a lot of flexibility since from KC. My first disappointment was the actual advertized location, upon entering it into my Google maps, I saw it was nowhere near what the “View Map” showed, instead of inside Hwy 395, the home was a mile further down 30-A. When I called owner, her response was “well, I am sorry, I do not know what is on the map, and I cannot change the location”; I stated I realized that, but location was a key factor in selection and she misrepresented her rental to me. Upon arriving at the home (noon-1pm as owner approved), we were greeted by a man in driveway back from filling bike tires; I asked if he was the maintenance woman’s husband, and he stated he was – we chatted about the weather, etc. and then he said, “well, have a nice stay”. We then entered to find the beds were made, bathroom linens out, no dirty dishes, etc., really no sign of the home not prepared for our arrival, but when you looked around closer the house was totally filthy. The maintenance woman claimed that they had not cleaned yet, had 40 homes, not expected our early arrival, but this was chronic lack of cleaning. Thick dust everywhere (sent a picture where I wrote “clean me”), cobwebs and grim on light fixtures, unclean bathrooms, smashed bug on wall, microwave with splattered food, etc. Her husband showed back up with paper towels and Windex for a “touch up” and was perplex when told his wife said they had not cleaned yet; but even after he left there were still dirty floors, bath mats (yuck!), cockroaches in drawers, sticky stair railing, overall just grim everywhere. I have pictures of it all, I wish I could post them! To be fair, positives are - location close to fun restaurants and beach, house layout good for a family (we had teenagers!), homey furnishings, master bed was very comfortable and a garage which was very handy. The positives unfortunately are overshadowed by just lack of sanitary care; maybe why only one review? I will learn! I will be honest I did ask for compensation for misleading location & dirty environment, it was my vacation and I wanted to get what I paid for; but the owner did not offer anything or sound concerned (agreed finally to free Friday night)! So, my recommendation is to balance what is important, if the features outweigh cleanliness requirement, might be for you.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We usually stay in Destin each summer and on a friends recommendation we looked up Cassine Village in Seagrove, FL the day before we were leaving for FL and found this wonderful home a quick walk from the beach. The owner was great to work with us on a last minute rental and when we arrived the home, it was more than we imagined it would be. The home has all that you need including bikes, beach toys and chairs. We loved sitting on the porch each day and our children enjoyed swinging on the porch swing. There is a grill on the patio which we used a few times during our stay and the kitchen had all that we needed. The home has an open floor plan which is great for entertaining and we love all the windows and natural light. Initially I was concerned we would be far from the beach, but it was literally a 5 minute walk and the house has a cart which made the trip so easy. The kids swam at the community pool a few times, rode bikes throughout the neighborhood and walked along the trail. There is a beach shop and ice cream shop at the front of the community as well as various places to shop all within a few miles. We biked to Watercolor and Seaside several times during our stay which was lots of fun. If you want to be in the 30A area, this is a great home, great location in a neighborhood community.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children.

This place was ideal for a family vacation / girls' getaway. This place has plenty of room and had clean and comfortable furniture. You don't always find this at the beach. Both the screened porch and outdoor balcony gave use places to chill in the outdoors. The home had everything you would need and then some. Being provided the beach chairs, floaties, beach towels, coolers, wagon and bikes made our trip that much better. The location is in a cute neighborhood convenient to the beach. The owner was great to work with and I felt she had a sincere interest in us enjoying ourselves in her home. I would love to stay again when our vacation plans bring us back to Seagrove. You can't go wrong in renting this home.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

About the owner: We are Alabama natives who love the beach, especially the Seagrove Beach area! Having a beach home is a dream come true!
Why the Owner Chose Cassine Village:
We chose this location because we love the natural area adjoining our property and the friendliness of the neighborhood. We are not only close to the beach, we are only a mile from the quaint villages of Seaside to the West and Rosemary Beach and Alys Beach to the East.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The beach is a short 5 minute walk and the 2 pools and tennis courts are minutes away. Shopping, fabulous restaurants and golf are nearby. The natural area adjoining our property leads to miles of nature trails with beautiful ponds and picturesque picnic areas.
