The Miller’s House is a lovely turn of the century brick cape with attached carriage shed. Built in 1823, it is nestled into the quaint village, just south of Woodstock. It was tastefully restored to antique detail in 2010. It has three bedrooms (master bedroom with queen sized bed and ensuite full bath, bedroom with two twin beds and a bedroom with two double beds, that share a full sized bath) ,a large living room with a baby grand piano and comfortable leather couches, a dining room with fire place, a large country eat in kitchen with local soapstone countertops, antique trestle table to seat 8, brand new stainless steel appliances, and a porch to enjoy your morning coffee while listening to the birds. Enjoy dinner and a glass of wine on a private stone patio with outdoor table and chairs, gas BBQ grill, outdoor lighting and a firepit.
You will enjoy the Millers House tranquil country surroundings in all seasons, whether relaxing by the fireplace, cooking a great country dinner, cross-country skiing from your front door, swimming in nearby spring-fed pond, or enjoying a hot chocolate at the country store after a sleigh ride.
The Millers House is within walking distance to fine country dining, the South Woodstock Country Store (lunch here is a must!), post office, swimming lake, and the Green Mountain Horse Association which sponsors horse shows and events. Experience Woodstock and all it has to offer, the Billings Farm Museum and National Park, shops, fascinating homes and architecture, as well as wonderful eateries. and farmer's markets. Horseback riding, tennis, hiking, swimming, golf, fly fishing, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and downhill skiing are just minutes away. We are in the middle of 3 ski areas, Killington (30 minutes), Okemo (30 minutes) and Suicide Six (10 minutes).
We are the owners. We live across the street. We will welcome you and provide you with all the insider details and information that you will need to enjoy your stay in this wonderful part of the world!

This was a perfect spot for a small group to partake of Wassail Weekend and to explore VT. Wonderful and welcoming place to come back to and relax after exploring the area each day. Peter and Carole, your attention to the details, sincere concern for our comfort and helpful advice made the trip trouble free! Your passion for hospitality and care for fine things truly show! Your hospitality keeps us coming back year after year! All my girlfriends at this 2nd annual women's retreat weekemd adore what you have done with the Millers House-definately a repeat venue for future retreats. Know that this weekend at this house, 4 women who previously had not known each other became great friends. Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: My husband and I purchased the Miller's House in 2007. It is directly across the street from our Bed and Breakfast, The Grist Mill House. I have lived in Woodstock for over 40 years and realized the historical value of this beautiful brick cape with attached carriage shed. We have had fun restoring the house with antique detail and many modern amenities. We have traveled all over the world and enjoying staying in beautiful homes elsewhere. We felt like we knew what people wanted and enjoyed in a short term rental and kept that in mind as we were restoring the Miller's House. We have enjoyed the Woodstock area for many years and know so many "out of the way" special places for hiking, walking, kayaking and canoeing, photography opportunities, swimming, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. We are more than willing to recommend fine dining experiences, museums, shopping or whatever your passion is. We both have worked in education fields, K-12, and in the corporate world. Peter worked for BMW North America (motorcyle division) and I was principal of 2 elementary schools spanning 12 years. We now run our Bed and Breakfast and our short term rental. We love sharing our amazing spaces with people from all over the world!
