I have never been more satisfied with a vacation than I was with the one we took in Tahoe recently. The house was so lovely and it was very quiet, like a real neighborhood would be. My family, which included my husband, daughter, her husband and children and me just relaxed and rested and were not at all crowded; we were able to cook in the nice kitchen and everything was provided..... by this means we saved some real money. I do not travel much but having had such a wonderful time in this property, I will go back.Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Lovely home and great for a party. Lots of space, bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice, beautiful deck space for outdoor entertaining, kitchen with all of our needs for cooking and baking, huge downstairs family room. Owner obviously has pride in his property. We told him we would be celebrating our daughters graduation and he was fine with that celebration - in fact, he even bought new BBQ equipment as we said we would be doing that for the party. He was aware of our needs and made it great for us. Lots of stairs so can not recommend it for handicapped persons or those with little children without knowledge of the stairs (no safety gates for kids). Great stay. Would definitely use it again if in the area.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

This was the 2nd time that we have rented one of Barry and Barbara's rental homes. We had an amazing time. The house was well equipped, beautifully furnished and exceptionally clean. It was much larger than the pictures show because of the large room and vaulted ceiling. This home was in a fabulous location; just 2 minutes drive to Raley's and 7 minutes drive to Diamond Peak. We will be back next year at this house or another one of Barry and Barbara's rental homes. I would highly recommend this property.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

We stayed here for a long weekend to play in the snow with our 2 small children (ages 1 and 3). The house had comfortable beds with nice linens, the heater worked well and the kitchen was well stocked for cooking. We didn't have too much trouble with hazards for our very mobile 1 year old - we would bring a baby gate for the stairs if we came again, otherwise it was a great winter getaway!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

The location of the house is very convenient. The house is well equip for relaxation. The owners are very thoughtful - they had a hand written note welcoming us to the house and a bottle of wine. The slope of the driveway makes it difficult coming in and out after snowing.Recommended for: Families with young children.

What a wonderful home!! We have stayed in many fine places all over the world and this home ranks among the best! First of all the owner was very gracious and helpful...answered all questions that we had both before, during and after our stay. He was very responsive. It was so well equipped with so many quality appliances...even a panini maker. There were many items that we don't have in our own very well equipped kitchen! The home is solidly built and has a great flow and overall layout. I especially like that there was no TV in the kitchen/living room area. The family room was downstairs...along with the TV....so that conversations could actually take place without a TV being on. We were four adults, and each had very good space for ourselves. We actually only left the home two times in 3 nights.....once to go to the store, and one time to eat out!! We came prepared to snowshoe, and hike....but it was so comfortable inside...that we just stayed in, ate, played games, worked a puzzle, visited, read and slept soundly. We will most definitively recommend this home to our friends and will stay here again!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

My family stayed in this house over the New Year Holiday (2 adults & 3 kids ages 14, 11 & 8) and loved it! Upon arrival the driveway up into the garage was freshly cleared for easy access and the walkways around the home were all clear. We loved driving into the attached garage (it was cold out & there was a lot of snow outside) and the welcome area/foyer had ample space for skis, jackets, helmets, boots etc. AND the floor was heated. SUCH a nice touch. The home was very spacious with a great area in front for snowman building & snowball fights (this is important stuff to the kids!). The kitchen was fantastic with so many great cooking appliances. They had everything we could have ever needed! The large, deep soaking tub in the master bath was pretty sweet. And the kids loved the downstairs space, especially the large family room with the HUGE TV. Upon arrival, there on the beautiful granite kitchen countertops was a laminated booklet outlining how to use the fireplace, Nespresso machine, front door locks, wireless, TVs etc. and it answered any general question we might have about the Incline Area - very helpful! In the home, the board game, movie and book collections were diverse (something for everyone). The home was very clean. The location was perfect - we were VERY close to the grocery story, Diamond Peak Ski Resort, the ski rental spot, and restaurants. This home met and exceeded all of my expectations. I highly recommend this home for families or a grown-up weekend/week away. We can't wait to check out the house in the summer, too!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Me and my family spent Christmas at this house and boy did we luck out! Often times you are disappointed when you see the property in real life, but the opposite was true here. The house is beautiful, clean, has a great flow, and the kitchen is a dream! It was well stocked with everything you would have at home. It is also ideally located, with easy access to Diamond Peak, the beach, and stores. But on top of all this, the owner, went above and beyond to be sure our stay was perfect. He checked in to see if our driveway was plowed, if we had everything we needed, and if our water was hot enough!! We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1991
About the owner: We bought this home in 1991 while still living full-time in the San Francisco Bay Area to enjoy, with our young children, as a vacation home. From the beginning, we always loved coming here, for its beauty is unsurpassed and its recreational activities bountiful - we never run out of things to do and the kids always looked forward to our visits; now adults, they still can't wait to visit. We have friends all over the country and many of them stay with us annually. In 2008, after retiring from active businesses, we became full-time Nevada residents; even though we've traveled extensively around the country and the world, we never considered another location. Early in 2010, we purchased another home nearby in Incline Village and decided to keep this home as a rental so others can get a taste of the extreme pleasures we've been so fortunate to experience here over the past two decades. With our first grandchild on the way, we can't wait to introduce another generation to the wonders of Lake Tahoe.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, The Woods:
Great location: on the beautiful North Shore of Lake Tahoe...this home is extremely close to all of Incline's main attractions; it is walking distance to Lake Tahoe, the Incline Recreation Center, the Hyatt Lake Tahoe, Sierra Nevada College, and Starbucks and is less than a 5 minute drive to both of Incline's fabulous golf courses and local Ski Resort, Diamond Peak. We have easy access to Tahoe Blvd, the gateway to all of Lake Tahoe's ski resorts.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Incline Village, on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, offers unsurpassed beauty and bountiful recreational resources 24/7, all year, every year.
