Cozy Farm House on 20 Acres Only 8 Miles from Oxford Square
- Minimum stay:N/A

- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This 100 year old home has been renovated and updated to include a huge and fabulous front porch. Situated on 20 quiet acres that also houses an active pottery studio, Indian Ridge as it is called, overlooks a former Indian campground near the Yocona River and the community of Yocona.
Indian Ridge Is a perfect artist's get-away... a quiet place to write or beautiful landscapes for Plein Air painting in Lafayette county.
Cyclists will love the bucolic county roads and the local bike club, Oxford Cycling, has regular group rides and welcomes visiting riders. There are also 2 networks of well maintained mountain bike trails in and around Oxford.
It is an easy 8 mile drive to the famous Oxford Square.
The kitchen boasts a Viking Range but that's as fancy as it gets. Well, there's a big ol' TV too. Other than that, the house is very low key and comfortable. A great get-away with all the happenings of Oxford nearby.

This cozy, homey, old home is a wonderful place to stay while enjoying the many events in Oxford anytime of the year. We enjoyed the quite country away from the hustle and bustle of normal life. Everything was perfect from the hotel linens on the beds, fresh milk and sweet bread to the cool temperatures inside while it was over 100 outside. Don't let the window AC's in the pictures deter you from staying here. They work very well! We will definitely recommend this getaway to others we know coming to Oxford.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

I never want to leave! That pretty much sums it up. The house is so cozy-from the fireplace to the crisp, white down comforter, the delicate green glasses and squeaky hard wood floor in the kitchen that makes me smile every time I step on it. The porch is heavenly, complete with swing and 50's table. Most importantly, our baby dog is happier than I've ever seen her, running all over her field of dreams. The bakery goods and Brown Farms milk was such a thoughtful treat! I even made my Grandparents' vegetable supper last night and the skillet cornbread came out better than I've ever made it. Thanks so much for your hospitality and kindness. I will definitely be back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you so much for your hospitality! We loved the farmhouse, especially waking up and having coffee on the screened porch. The first morning a hummingbird came and checked us out. The second morning Jeff watched a doe grazing. Loved the mix of antiques, paintings, fabrics, and pottery. I found it peaceful and relaxing! Hoping our son will go to Ole Miss next year so I can spend more time at the farmhouse! I would love to come back and spend some time in the pottery studio and stay longer. Thanks again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Four of us spent only a single night here on a whirlwind tour of Oxford. Not only did this rental have the usual amenities (paper towels, soap, coffee, condiments),but also included local bread, butter, milk, and peach preserves. Gotta love local and we did! What a special treat! The house is located in a country setting down a long driveway. The huge front porch with ceiling fans just invites you to sit and swing. We also hung in the large living area enjoying the TV and surround sound. Sweet antique touches abound (love the little lamps, china, and the wicker upholstery!) The carport and outside covered area off the laundry room were unexpected bonuses. Everything was clean and fresh and the owner was easy to work with. All in all, this VRBO surpassed our expectations. A great place to stay when in the area.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: My husband, Walter, and I live just a mile and a half from the rental property listed. We love being close to Oxford yet far enough away to enjoy the peacefulness of Lafayette county. As avid cyclists we relish being able to take to our bikes straight from our driveway and ride these county roads…we are intimately familiar with every hill in the vicinity.
Why the Owner Chose Oxford:
We bought this property initially as an investment. We quickly fell too far in love to consider selling and soon found ourselves immersed in renovating the buildings on the property. There is a ceramics studio on the grounds as well as a barn which serves as a wood shop.
The house needed quite a bit of updating but we maintained the old coziness.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
There have been many Indian artifacts found on the property...and possibly a ghost or two...
In April of 2011 the tornadoes that hit Tuscaloosa, AL swept through here. We lost quite a few ancient Oaks but it has been remarkable watching this beautiful property in it's transitional state, regaining another layer of charm.
