Divide cabin description
Elk Spring Cabin features quality craftsmanship and superior furnishings. It sits on a hill overlooking the spring fed pond below with awesome Pike's Peak views as a backdrop. It is surrounded by pine and aspen trees on 35 fenced and gated acres. You can feel completely isolated with no other homes in view. Although it feels remote, it is only 1 1/2 miles from US Hwy 24 on a well maintained County Road and only 30 minutes to Colorado Springs or Cripple Creek and very convenient to all local attractions. You can hike the acreage or relax and enjoy the beautiful back deck and patio area. The views of Pikes Peak from the living room, both bedrooms and the back deck are spectacular and you may experience an occasional deer or elk that wander through the property. This cabin shares the same property with Mountain Sun Cabin yet they are not visible from each other. Both cabins can be rented together for larger groups.
After an exciting day of sightseeing, hiking, biking, rafting or shopping, relax in the Hot Tub, located off both bedrooms, perfect for stargazing. You can also sit in the warm Colorado sun on the Deck or Patio area. When it snows, you can bring cross country skis or use the provided selection of snowshoes and sleds to explore the property or many nearby trails. When you return, cozy up in front of the Stone Fireplace and watch it snow. You are sure to enjoy all of the conveniences of home including high speed Internet, large Flatscreen TV with BluRay DVD player and surround sound. This can all be enjoyed with the beauty, peace and serenity of the Rocky Mountains in this special home. The cabin is cozy and romantic for two, but large enough for the whole family.

Our stay at Elk Spring cabin was more than expected. We have stayed in vacation properties on previous vacations, but have never had pantry items supplied. In previous rentals we had to buy all condiments right down to salt & pepper. What a great perk! The area was beautiful in early October. The peace, and quiet were exactly what we were looking for. My granddaughter especially enjoyed the $1 treasure hunt. LOL One of our favorite things was the drive down 11 mile canyon out of Lake George. We were looking for a place to unwind, and this was the perfect place. It's out of the mainstream, but close enough to civilization if we wanted it. The views were beautiful, and the hot tub was great on the cool evenings. We all wished we could have stayed longer. You have done a great job making this an attractive and comfortable place, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Colorado, especially since it's soooo much better than a noisy hotel with neighbors surrounding you on all sides. VRBO rentals are the only way to vacation! A wonderful home away from home.

Owner response: Thank you so much for the great review! So glad that you were pleased with our vacation rental. Laura and Brad
We are a family of four with two girls aged 21 and 17. We have stayed with Brad and Laura before and each time was an absolute pleasure. We adore the Pikes peak area because there is so much to see and do. This time we covered Pikes Peak, Cave of the winds, Cheyenne mountain zoo, Mueller state park, 11 Mile state park and canyon, Garden of the Gods, Redrock Canyon, Seven falls at night, Horse riding and ATV'ing. Manitou Springs was a favourite place to eat in the evening (Stagecoach Inn especially). Brad and Laura are the friendliest owners we have ever stayed with and their cabins are beautifully clean and inviting. They provide everything you could hope to need and a lot more besides. One thing that we love about staying with them is the hummingbird feeders and bird feeders that they hang around the property. They always provide plenty of feed so you never run out and you get to watch the constant stream of little visitors whenever you have a quiet moment to sit and just enjoy the peace. If you love to be active but also enjoy peace and quiet then this is definitely the place for you. We thoroughly recommend any of Brad and Lauras cabins and we will definitely be back.

We just had a perfect weekend at Brad and Laura's cabin. The cabin is well appointed and VERY clean . Nothing to do but enjoy the peace and quiet and watch the wildlife! The hot tub is a great new feature that we used every day. We have 2 boys at the Air Force academy and they really just wanted to relax so we didn't do much sight seeing this trip. We did take a drive out to Eleven Mile Canyon - gorgeous - would suggest it to anyone. Nearby Woodland Park is a darling town with everything you need! Thanks you guys .....We'll be back!!!!

Ideal Cabin in the Woods
Ideal Cabin in the Woods
My husband ,son, and I wanted to find a Colorado cabin to rent for a few days in the month of August. We decided on the area of Pikes Peak because it was easy to get to from Denver. We were extremely satisfied with everything about the cabin from location to amenities which Brad and Laura provided. The cabin was extremely well stocked, the parking was right in front of the door, and the property is lovely and peaceful. Everything was very clean and well organized. We felt really at home in this beautiful environment. It was wonderful to watch the squirrels and birds play outside the window with Pikes Peak in the background. It was a pleasure especially to use the kitchen and eat in the dining room which has such wonderful views of the forest and mountains outside. Brad and Laura were extremely helpful during our stay and responsive to the calls and texts I sent. I don't think we could have asked for anything more and the price is very reasonable considering all the amenities. If you're lucky you'll be able to reserve a spot at this little piece of heaven in Colorado.

We had a wonderful stay at the Elk Spring Cabin. The cabin was immaculate and had everything we needed to make it feel like home. Great location too! It didn't take us any longer than 30 minutes to get to the many attractions in the area, but still in it's own peaceful setting. Brad and Laura, thank you for being a wonderful host and hostess. We will definitely be back next year.

Great honeymoon location
Great honeymoon location
A great little house for two. Away from people and the noise of the city. After spending 2 nights in hotels and being surrounded by people the week leading up to the wedding it was so nice to be alone and not be able to see any other houses or developments. It was also really nice to come to a clean house. The kitchen was very well stocked and to save on costs we cooked most of our meals. The hot tub was relaxing and we could see/hear the many hummingbirds that came to the feeders which was really awesome to see. It was also really great to be so close to both Woodland Park and Divide. Colorado Springs was only a half an hour away--where we're from the closest cities are at least an hour away so it was super nice to have the Spings so close!! We even got to meet Brad and Laura so that was really great for us :) We will definitely refer any family/friends we hear going to to the Springs to Elk Spring Cabin. We hope to return some time in the future.

Graduation and the mountains, what could be better
Graduation and the mountains, what could be better
We can out for graduation at the Air Force Academy and were taken back by the view from each cabin. We watch for the elk, but none came around but deer, lots of birds and little rodents sure did. I like the beds, so comfortable, the shower was a little small, but I'm a little large. It added to our overall time with my nephew graduation and such great accomadations. Every thing was clean and in order and we enjoyed the hot tub. We used to come out a couple times a year, but now it will be me and friends and or family to fish 11 mile. Thank you so much, we will return

Great getaway that isn't too far from everything you need
Great getaway that isn't too far from everything you need
Had a fantastic little birthday vacation with my wife and another couple. The cabin was immaculately clean when we arrived and everything was as it appeared in the pictures, unlike a few other VRBO rentals we have been to. The location is absolutely beautiful. I think our favorite part about this rental was that it is so close but it feels like it's deep in the mountains. We live in Lakewood, CO and it only took us about an hour and a half to get there. The owners have also taken the time to put together a nice binder of local places to eat and places to see and trails to hike in the area. I was truly impressed with my experience. I would only give this one bit of advice to new patrons, make sure to get reservations at the restaurants you would like to eat at. We made the mistake of assuming that it was early enough in the season that places wouldn't be so busy.

Great Time at the Cabin
Great Time at the Cabin
My husband and I stayed at the Elk Spring Cabin and it was AWESOME!!! It snowed the first day that we were there and it was so nice to relax in the perfect hottub and watch it snow. The weather warmed up a bit through the week so we saw how it would be in a normal Spring atmosphere as well. We can't wait to come back and enjoy it in the summer too. The cabin was exactly how it shows on the internet but even better! It was clean, everything worked great and it was fully stocked with everything you could want for a relaxing stay. It was private, yet close to town. The roads were good going to the cabin as well. We were a little worried because of the amount of snow the first day but it was good! We enjoyed cooking breakfast and drinking our coffee in the morning while watching the birds at the feeder with Pike's Peak in the background. Very nice!! We liked that the owners had a well stocked movie library and games. The cable and internet worked great too. We definently will schedule another trip and highly recommend this little piece of heaven. I hope to meet Brad and Lisa next time we come. They have gone above and beyond to make this place feel like home!! Dee Ann Hodges
