Located in desirable Birch Point. Close to historical downtown Bath, many restaurants, shopping or just strolling down the historic cobblestone streets. 30 minutes to Freeport outlets (L.L. Bean) less than one hour to Portland. Easy drive from Boston.
If you enjoy boating you can rent one at the New Meadows Marina or bring your own. The cottage has a great dock and mooring. Shoot out to Casco Bay, Cundy’s Harbor, or have lunch at the Sabasco Resort (you can dive over as well). Lots of islands and coast to explore and see.
You can see Mid Cost Maine by land or sea or just sit on the deck near the water and watch the boats pass by. Whatever you do you will want to return.

The view is lovely and Bath is a neat little town; we really enjoyed Popham and Reid State Parks.Plus the neighbors are lobstermen who are willing to share and the property managers are very nice and accomodating. That said, the cottage is very rustic with basic amenities and was stiflingly hot in the summer heat. We found that we had find activities elsewhere during the hottest hours of the day.Owner response: Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed Bath and the surrounding parks and beaches. Unfortunately Maine can be unpredictably hot and humid during the peak summer season. The home does boast large windows to maintain a cross breeze in the home. With that being said, we can work on getting some large fans to keep on site to help circulate the air. We also provide a list of area activities on site to help plan for rainy and hot days. Again, we value your feedback, and thank you for being great guests.

We rented this cottage for one week in august and it was fantastic. It's roughly 15 mins from Bath but once you know the exact location you can enjoy the beautiful drive. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, the kids loved the tree house and made us have dinner up there a couple of times (no ladder though, so this was a bit tricky). There is good swimming off the floating dock at high tide, and at low tide we loved looking for shellfish. Great lobster boat watching from the dock too. Bring a boat or kayak if you can! Popham Beach, about 20 minutes away, was wonderful, we especially enjoyed exploring the island off the beach that you can wade to at low tide (along with hundreds of other visitors ...). The Maritime Museum in Maine is great for a rainy day, it's a nice touch that tickets are valid for two visits within the same week. Great contact with Leia from the property management company - the security deposit refund was in our mailbox two days after we returned home!Recommended for: Families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. We are truly delighted that you selected our home for your last vacation. As Property Managers, we try to be as thorough as possible, providing each visiting family with a sense of serenity as soon as you walk through the front door. The home really is beautiful and easily accessible for young children and older couples. It pleases us to hear that you enjoyed your stay and, as always, we welcome your return in future years.

As soon as we step in the door, we relax and take a deep breath. The cottage is comfy and cozy. The views are glorious. We love Bath and Brunswick. Thank you for opening your vacation home so we can live the coastal life even if for only a short time. This is our third year here and we hope we can return next year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful, peaceful, and sweet little cottage on the glorious Maine shore. I used to live in Tenants Harbor (did a day trip down memory lane) and vacationed in Maine since I was a wee lass...always good to come home. So much to do and see. Try Scarlet Begonia's in Brunswick & Montsweag Roadhouse on Rt 1 near Westport. Loved the blue heron and the ospreys. Popham is the best beach in Maine but so sorry to see such erosion. Rich did not catch a fish yet, so more reason to to return. Thank you to the owners and Jon and Leia!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Magical early morning and evening light. Sight of bald eagle on nearby tree was remarkable and exciting. Plants seafood in Bath has really great fresh fish if you plan on cooking here.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Wonderful setting, peaceful and quiet. Starlight Cafe in Bath for breakfast/lunch was GREAT. Solo Bistro for dinner -wonderful. We wish we had access to kayak/canoe, but can't have everything. Five Island Lobster Co. worth a visit. All the art galleries, light houses, etc all added to the Maine experience.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Between the glorious mornings, the evening glow, and the peaceful nights, it's hard to pick one specific time we enjoyed the most....it was all FABULOUS! I cooked most of our dinners here (nice kitchen btw) and we had most of our lunches out while exploring. "Reds Eats" in Wiscasset ....try the lobster roll, worth the $20! Try Five Island Lobster Co in Five Islands. Go into Bath for BBQ at Beale's, but stay in and enjoy the sunset from those 2 comfortable chairs by the bay windows!! Thank you!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

My wife and I were looking for a place off the beaten path to relax by ourselves for a week on the coast of Maine, and we came across this lovely property. What a wonderful surprise to find this place - fully furnished and loaded with all the things needed for a relaxing week. We enjoyed a most relaxing week. The location is awesome - right on the water with little to no road or water traffic (minimal noise). Property was well maintained and comfortable. Only downside, the time it takes to get back to forth into Bath for food shopping.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.
