Clinton house description
Phenomenal views of the snow-capped Olympic Mountains as a backdrop and the Puget Sound before your eyes, Whidbey Island is stunning every season. During the spring and summer the festive atmosphere of tourists mingling with the local community brings fresh energy to the Island. In fall and winter virtually no crowds or long ferry lines, one really experiences the essence of the island along with its great sense of community. This is a wonderful opportunity to rent a lovely home in the highly sought after Useless Bay area for a 'staycation' or a visit from afar.
Whidbey Island feels a world away from the chaos of the city, but it is less than an hours drive with a sweet 20 minute ferry ride in the middle to get you in the vacation mood, and the weather is often better than in Seattle!!
Best location on Whidbey for this designer decorated Sunlight Shores Island House. This uncluttered retreat offers comfort for a quiet romantic getaway, but it also has an ideal layout for small group gatherings. Perfect four Bedroom two bath layout for two families. Upstairs is the living area with 2 bedrooms separated by a full bath. Downstairs has the rec room with another 2 bedrooms separated by a ¾ bath with washer/dryer.
Enjoy views while soaking in the hot tub. In addition to spectacular sunsets, Useless Bay is known for its clamming, crabbing, driftwood ‘art-work’ sandcastles and walks on the beach. Be as active as you want, but sometime in the evening you most likely will watch the Sun dip behind the Olympic Mountains, and see the dramatic reflection on the water.
A ten minute drive from the ferry, a peaceful refuge from the daily grind, Sunlight Shores Island House is located near many fun Whidbey activities. The quaint town of Langley is less than five miles away with adorable shops and great restaurants. Nearby Bayview offers a wine tasting room, beautiful nursery, stores, gallery space, huge outdoors chess set, bike shop (rentals available) and a Saturday farmer’s market in the summer. Additionally there are island gardens to tour, a lovely golf course to play, fantastic bike rides and the Whidbey Island Kayaking Company is just down the street (for guided Kayak tours). And if you are unfamiliar with the Island, we will happily provide 'concierge service' as part of our offering if you would like.

SPACIOUS COMFORTABLE HOME ON WHIT BY ISLAND , CLINTON
SPACIOUS COMFORTABLE HOME ON WHIT BY ISLAND , CLINTON
OUR HOUSE WE RENTED ON WHITBEY ISLAND , CLINTON WAS AN EXCELLENT FIT FOR 4 ADULTS & 2 YOUNG GRANDKIDS! OUR PUGET SOUND RENTAL WAS THE BEST EQUIPPED HOME WE EVER HAVE TRAVELED TO IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST. MY GOURMET CHEF SON ESPECIALLY LIKED THE LARGE SPACIOUS KITCHEN AND OUTDOOR DECK WHERE WE ATE OVERLOOKING THE WATER & SUNSETS WHILE EATING FRESH MUSSELS & FISH FROM THE NEARBY SHOPPING CENTER. ACCOMMADATIONS WERE COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN ALL IN ALL, A GREAT EXPERIENCE!

Owner response: Thanks Gary for your kind words. We love to cook and we are glad you enjoyed our well stocked kitchen! Come back and see us again!
Fabulous property! My family and I have enjoyed this property on a couple of occasions and have experienced both summer and winter. There is an unobstructed view of the bay and seemingly never-ending, stunning sunsets. Plenty of activities to enjoy. Walking along the sandy beach at low tide has revealed interesting sea life, bike riding on streets with little to no traffic, shopping in Langley and generally slowing life down a bit! The house offers all the amenities~music, barbeque, hot tub, comfortable beds, ping-pong, board games, lounging on the outdoor furniture or shooting hoops in the driveway. Really appeals to just about any age group. This provides a perfect break from the everyday activities and has so much more to offer than a hotel.

Wonderful home with everything we needed for a relaxing time. The snowcapped Olympic Mountains were beautiful and lots of great hikes nearby. The amenities and owners touches made it so comfortable. Lots of great suggestions for restaurants and nearby activities. Morning coffee at the local "Mukilteo Coffee Roasters" was a great start to our day. We felt a world away from the city and will definitely return for a summer visit.

About the owner: Welcome to our home! The northwest is a very special place to live or visit. We have lived in the Northwest for over twenty years and appreciate and enjoy being surrounded by beautiful mountains, lakes and the Puget Sound. Our passion is bicycle riding, swimming, photography, kite flying and general beach combing activities. As almost empty nesters, Whidbey Island offers an amazing experience to people of all ages. We have enjoyed having this second home as we raised our children. By the way, one of the owners is a realtor, so no blind ad here! .
Why the Owner Chose Clinton:
Choosing a location to purchase a second home is not an easy task when you are choosing between the many island properties available. We found Whidbey Island to be the best combination of beauty; magnificent sunsets and warm summer days on the beach. Our home is located five houses from Useless bay beach. Useless Bay is by far the most interesting beach on Whidbey Island. West facing, you are witness to gorgeous northwest sunsets which are important to us. At low tide, a wonderful sandy beach opens up to walkers, sun bathers, driftwood sculpturing and clamming (I really like clamming – island version of the ‘Deadliest Catch’)! In the summer the sun can warm up the beach and coastal waters to the point where it can become a refreshing swim in the sound. At high tide, kayakers, wind surfers, water skiers and Hobie cats grace the bay. Located minutes away from the local grocery store and less than 5 miles from downtown Langley, we found this house conveniently provides access to the best of Whidbey.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
In addition to the ‘beach life’ culture Useless Bay has to offer, South Whidbey has a strong artistic community. Summers always seem way too short in the Northwest. South Whidbey is truly a great year round get-a-way location. When water skiers are replaced with Bald Eagles and quiet chilly walks; we really appreciate the cultural activities available. Live music, kayaking, restaurants, theater performances, art showings and even Contra dancing are generally available year round. First run movies show at the historic Clyde Theater, and wine tasting from local vineyards is a great way to meet new friends. Served by a car and passenger ferry that is conveniently located 30 minutes from Seattle, access is easy and quick. We enjoy exploring the surrounding area, and the house is 20 minutes to another ferry that can take you to the Olympic Peninsula for exploration of the Olympic Rain forest. This house is our home away from home, and we enjoy using it as much as our guests. You will find the home well cared for and stocked with the things to make a perfect stay. We look forward to meeting you and making new friends!
