- Minimum stay:7 nights

Family owned and operated: Boasts 300ft of private ocean frontage situated on more than 2 wooded acres. Cottage at Russell Cove was purchased by my parents (the Russell's) in 1960 when they moved to Maine from Cheshire, Connecticut. It was completely renovated in 1990, the bathroom in 2012. Though smaller than a house, it has all the comforts and charm of a home. It is nestled in a cove on Western Bay overlooking the mountains of Acadia National Park.

We've been coming to Russell Cove for the last 6-7 years each June. The first season we came I couldn't speak because it waso beautiful and tranquil. It's been our way to welcome Summer . We've been blessed to know about this place. We've always been treated like family and it makes coming here like "coming home". With our son in Bar Harbor, he too is able to enjoy this special place when we visit for that week, and we're close enough to him to visit each day. Make it your "coming home" place! I cannot say enough good things about our stay at Russell Cove. This is such a gem of a cabin. The owners truly have gone above and beyond to ensure that everything you could possibly need is there for you. The view is AMAZING, especially in the morning, with the sun rising beyond the mountains. It was so relaxing and special, I made sure to get up every day to enjoy. The location of the cabin is great. Several lobster pounds nearby (we loved Lunt's), and make sure you go the IGA grocery store that's right there as well. I know that sounds crazy, but we could not believe how well-stocked this little store was, for meat, produce, bakery products. It's a a little gem!!! Only wish they had a Redbox, as we spent a lot of time driving into town to get movies at the Wal-Mart or Osco, of all places!! Great location for Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Fall colors were spectacular the week we were there. Saw no seals - that was our only disappointment. But it was somewhat made up for by the 12 wild turkeys that crossed over the cabin's driveway each morning. Being from Chicago? The only time we see turkeys is on a Thanksgiving plate, so this was fun!! All kidding aside, this is a beautiful little cottage, in a truly serene and wonderful location, and we cannot wait to go back. Thank you Pam. Audrey and Sarah, for sharing with us!!Owner response: Thank you so much for your kind words, Linda. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Russell Cove Cottage, and we look forward to having you return for another Acadia getaway!

My wife and I just returned from two weeks at Russell Cove cottage and WOW, what a great little find! We have been to the Bar Harbor area many times and this was the best. The privacy is wonderful and being right on the water just made it special. The owners offer magnificent customer service, are very warm friendly people and even had fresh flowers in the cottage upon our arrival. Located just off the island made it so convenient to explore Acadia and the surrounding towns. I highly recommend Russell Cove cottage for your summer stay!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

We certainly did enjoy our special getaway vacation at Russell Cove! You have a spot of heaven...here on earth. I wish we could have brought back the clean, crisp air from up there - not exactly the same here at home. The week went by so fast and we enjoyed every minute. Your cottage had everything we needed...and then some. Thank you again for keeping Russell Cove open for us. The first week of November was absolutely beautiful!! is Russell Cove Cottage in Trenton ME. Waterfront view and a few steps down to the shore, the call of the loons will make you smile. Cozy cottage with lots of charm. Near enough to Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, good restaurants and lots and lots of lobster pounds!!! Great place for a couple to relax, read (lots of books available), take walks or just sit on the deck and enjoy the spectular view of ocean and mountain.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

The pictures and description of this wonderful cottage do it NO justice, since it can only be fully appreciated until one has experienced it. Everything from the view of Cadillac Mountain to the scent of the sea breeze blowing in from the Western Bay, makes this a magical and memorable place. Russell Cove Cottage truly is a "family heirloom" that is treasured by the host family, and as evidenced from the guest book, everyone who has had the priviledge to have visited. I look forward to my next stay...Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

View is spectacular. Cottage is clean, cozy, extremely comfortable, quiet and relatively secluded. Owners take pride in caring for the property. Perfect for appreciating the harmony of nature surrounding us. Shoreline is 40 feet away. Loons yodel out front along and seals swim over from the nature preserve across the bay. Stars and shooting stars are evening entertainment. No need for the television and radio that are supplied. Kayakers are the noisiest boats on the cove. Sunrises are gorgeous. Storms are awesome. Mystical Maine at its best.Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.

The view is breath taking, and we enjoyed the outdoors areas. The inside was clean and that is about all I can say about it. The windows are old and clouded, and about half of them didn't open. We were there during a hot spell and with only a small personal sized fan provided there was not much relief to be had. At 10:30 p.m. at night the cabin was still 86 degrees. We asked for another fan but were turned down, and none were available in town for us to purchase ourselves. We left after three nights. We received no financial consideration for our problem, we just were told we should have asked one of the other owners for a fan. I would not recommend this to a friend.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 5/13
