  The Blue Marlin is PERFECT ~ Julie is WONDERFUL to deal with and a phone call away should a problem arise (she gave us the handyman's number just in case) but we had NO PROBLEMS with anything. The kitchen is perfectly stocked and set up for everyone to help out and sit and visit; that makes meal time not such a chore.I have NEVER seen a rental that well stocked with dishes & silverware. Clean up is a breeze with a dishwasher and much counter space. The living room was very comfortable, although we spent most all our time on the porch, the beach - just steps away, or sleeping in the comfortable beds. Both showers are amazing and the master bath is incredible (I love the sink!) and who doesn't like a jacuzzi! A real bonus is the attention to detail, downstairs you can rinse off your feet - body - and actually take a shower with hot water... so nice! The property is well maintained and kept clean. My husband is almost blind so he spent his waking hours on the porch.This porch is always in the shade, except early morning. We were comfortable all day with the gulf breeze. He and I stayed a week. We had both of our daughters and their families for Saturday Family Beach Bash (our 2nd annual) ~ we are booking two weeks next June! I have stayed many places up and down our Texas Coast and THIS is where I will return! There is so much fun stuff to do in Galveston for all ages, but we could not bring ourselves to leave this awesome house! All you need to bring is your beach clothes, towels and personal items, food & beverages. We came loaded with paper goods, dishwasher and laundry soap and left what we did not use as a goodwill offering toward next guests. Stores are close by and big stores are like 8 miles to Wal-Mart, Kroger, Randalls and all Galveston has to offer. Beautiful sunrise from the porch or upper deck ~ and the sunset colors can be enjoyed from the upper deck as well as stargazing (next year bringing a telescope) This is in the path of Pelicans, they fly over and they feed right at the wave breaks out front, great entertainment! This is the second time I have rented thru VRBO and this house was most accurately described and by far will always be my first choice. Julie, please hold the last two weeks of June for us and let me know when to send money ~

  My family just returned Friday from the most wonderful vacation we have had in years. 12 of us spent a perfect week at the Blue Marlin. Thank you Julie for this great experience. I was a little leary of renting from an individual, but she made it a great first time experience with VRBO and answered all my questions. The home has the most beautiful view from both decks. My son saw 6+ shooting stars from the top one. I could sit and rock on the main deck for hours. It was a fight for the rocking chair every morning and evening. The kitchen is equiped with everything you can imagine to make the meal time easy. The only problem we had was getting the kids bedroom cool and we never did figure out how to work the tv for cartoons for them during our down time during the heat of the day. Other than those two things, it was absolutely perfect and I would definately stay there again.

  Our stay at the Blue Marlin was exceptional. The description of the property was very accurate and the house was clean and well maintained. Kitchen amenities were plentiful. The price is well worth the stay and comfort. If I had to suggest anything, it would be that some additional amenities be included. In as much as this place is priced like a very nice hotel, it would be convenient for the tenant to expect ample supplies of soap, shampoo, paper towels and toilet paper, etc....not unlike many hotels/motels. However, I will say that the location is close to several stores where these items can be purchased, and the prices are comparable to larger stores. A simple addition, for convenience purposes, would be a dumbwaiter, installed at the stairwell to allow for hoisting suitcases, groceries, etc. up to the main floor, without having to make multiple loads up the stairs....just a thought. We would recommend this house to any families that want to get away, in fact, we will try to do this again, real soon. Thank you, Blue Marlin!

  What a wonderful choice of Galveston beach front destinations! This home was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, up-to-date on the bathroom and kitchen fixtures, and perfectly stocked with kitchen needs and bath linens. The beachfront location was great...just a few steps to the beach with our load of beach stuff! We can't wait to return next summer!

  My family just returned from a weekend at this lovely home. It was the perfect place for a family reunion! The house is very well maintained - huge showers and great kitchen and living area! The gulf is right out your front door! We can't wait to revisit this home! The owner is very nice and very helpful!

  Great home on the Beach! We loved everything about it from all the rooms being on one level to the big spacious area in the kitchen for visiting. Home was very clean and well maintained. The owner was very gracious and helpful as if we had known each other for years. I would refer this home to anyone that just needs to get away... We sat outside for hours just enjoying the Beach!
