Starfish Cottage is a lovely place to stay! This cottage is a clean, well cared for cottage. It is close to the beach, well equiped with all you might need to enjoy the area. The photos presented are exactly what you will see when you get here.The area is filled with shops, resturants, and many places to visit and enjoy. I would highly recommend coming and staying at the Starfish Cottage. I know myself if I'm ever back in the area I will be here again!

Thanks Kye & Elena - place was great! We were able to stay in the one bedroom house on a road trip down the coast. Definitely all the comforts of home. You would think coming from Hawaii that we would be especially critical to your beach town, but Seal Beach was great! It has a small town feel that is even hard to find here at home. The cottage is in walking distance to the beach and restaurants, and a great getaway from all the busy big city traffic. Its unfortunate that we weren't able to stay longer and make use of the BBQ area and "warm" weather. (I'll be honest April isn't as warm as Hawaii BUT it was sure better than the northern CA weather we drove down from) Enclosed garage for parking was also a big plus! Will definitely recommend your place to visiting Kamaina. Would be great for families and is close to Disneyland! Thanks again!

Thank you for allowing us to stay in your wonderful Starfish Cottage by the sea. The short walks to The Beach, The Pier, The Main Street and many more places were delightful and cheery! The cold weather in England made this a wonderful Holiday treat! Our daughter Poppy was so delighted to taste the ice cream at Cold Stones and the Shell Shop was the best adventure of all for her . The house was well appointed in every way possible and the patio was very relaxing. We look for another adventure and next time want to stay at the Pineapple Cottage. Cheers - Claire, Tony & Poppy

This was our second extended stay at the one bedroom,one bath beach cottage and as always it was wonderful.The cottage is charming,cozy and clean. The town of Seal Beach is a perfect beach town with interesting stores and restaurants. Would not consider staying anyplace else but here.

Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

A perfect Stay

My Sister lives out of state and we rented both homes for a holiday retreat and was it well worth it. The ability to walk to the beach, places to eat ect made this home perdect. We loved this house so much we plan on a 2013 family summer vacation and will be booking soon. Elena thank you for making this trip memorable in every way. Ann & James

A perfect little cottage at the perfect location ...

We were looking for a cosy little house for the two of us and found it right there in the one-bed Starfish Cottage ... Everything was just as described and the photos perfectly show what you will get. Everything was perfectly clean and the cottage is very well equipped with all you need for the perfect vacation. The location is great (close to the beach and the restaurants on Main Street - just a short walk) and Seal Beach is the right little town if you want to relax. A large supermarket is also nearby. Elena, Liberty and Kye are very nice people and we very much enjoyed the time they spent with us talking about "stuff". They gave the cottage a personal touch with a lot of things from around the globe. Thank you so much ! We'll be back and hope the cottage is available again. We are very much looking forward to it.

Great little one bedroom that was perfect for my nephew and I to stay in while in town for the Jiu-Jitsu World Comps. Close to Long Beach State, steps to the beach. Fully outfitted apartment. Super clean and a great little patio to chill out on. Would absolutely stay again.

Elaena, your place was fabulous! The one bedroom house was so private and relaxing that we want to book our one year anniversary with you! Thank you for adding those few extra touches, I appreciate that you had flowers and candy ready upon my request - my wife was ecstatic! We loved the fact that we had our own private house where we could walk to the beach in a few minutes, and we didn't have to drive anywhere because all of the best restaurants are within 5 minutes of walking distance. Thank you for helping my wife and I enjoy our Honeymoon, we look forward to celebrating here again soon!

My friend and I traveled to Seal Beach to spend Labor Day Weekend with my family! My sister and her family live on 16th Street and my parents were staying in the "Starfish Cottage". We rented the Starfish Back Cottage for the holiday weekend. It is an adorable 1 bedroom cottage that I wish I could transfer to New York City! Wow... what Kye and Elena, the property owners have accomplished in decorating and adding all the amenities you could want in this cozy cottage! We had a wonderful relaxing time and can't wait to return again soon! I would highly recommend this darling beach cottage to all of my friends and family. Thank you Kye and Elena for making our family vacation so much fun!

If you are looking for a relaxing and darling beach vacation home...look no further! We just returned home to Scottsdale, after spending 5 weeks in the "Starfish Cottage" My husband and I have been long time VRBO clients and must say, this is one of the nicest we have rented. Talk about location...the cottage is a stone's throw away from the beach and within walking distance to many restaurants, charming shops and provisions in this beautiful beach town of Seal Beach. (a wonderful farmer's market every Sunday, that we took advantage of for fresh produce) Not only is the cottage well stocked with every necessity you could ask for, but immaculate inside and out...with a charming back patio, outdoor shower for those sandy feet and lush landscaping surrounding the property. Also one important amenities that is included with this rental that is a must at the beach...a GARAGE! Elena and Ky have also added so many personal touches in the decor, which made us feel so comfortable in our home away from home! We are grateful that owner's Ky and Elena shared their wonderful vacation home rental with us. This is the second straight year of staying at the Starfish Cottage and third property staying in a place with these wonderful owners ( Elena and Kye) This place is a very well decorated, fully equipped ( and I mean totally-- more stuff than my own home). It has a cute front porch where we spent morning with coffee and evenings with something stronger. We met many nice neighbors who make this beach community home. It is a very comfortable home in a very comfortable town. Just a 1 block walk to the beach and a 5 block walk to the Main street. Many nice store, restaurants and food places.It is also very near Long Beach, Huntington and Newport Beach if you want try these.We also played golf at the Navy Golf Corse ( country club) and found it reasonable and very playable. Don.t miiss the wonder Farmers market at the Marina in Long Beach ( 2 miles away) We leave each year wanting to plan our return to this place--- we fit . The owners are available to get you what you need ;but will try never to be around to make you uncomfortable. The place is very well decorated and the plantings outside make this easily one of the nicest homes on the block. Cheers to Elena and Kye

The Starfish Cottage was just what we needed for myself and three teenagers. It was clean, well equipped and close to the beach. The best part was the owner's willingness to help us first time traveller's with all our questions. We spent time in all the tourist areas (DisneyLand, SeaWorld and Universal Studios, etc) and found this the perfect location to visit all the sites. Thanks to Kye and Elena for helping to make our vacation so memorable.

Starfish Cottage a Star

My husband and I stayed in the front cottage for a week in May, and are looking forward to our next chance to return. The location is great, with easy walking to everything in Seal Beach, and the whole street is charming. Elena has made this cottage visually and practically appealing, starting with the exterior and the landscaping, which is a wonderful introduction to the plants that thrive in the area. For east-coast based visitors, the succulents are a revelation! The decor is just right, with colors and accessories that remind the visitor that we are on vacation, but aren't too much. And this is the best-equipped kitchen I've seen in a vacation rental! Elena also made the whole rental process very easy, and answered questions that arose quickly and helpfully. Seal Beach is a delightful place to stay; our son and his family are in Long Beach, so this is the perfect distance for visiting them, and a nice place to come 'home' to after a day of touring (and particularly of driving in this area!).

! Life's a beach - and it's right at the end of the street from this charming one bedroom Starfish Cottage. An all too brief stay in this clean, cozy, comfortable back cottage was everything this grandma hoped & wished for special beach-time family fun & easy care/entertaining - ! including the red wagon filled with sand toys. Elena is a delight to work with - professional, responsive & helpful. Wow! We relaxed - Had fun and enjoyed some of the best restaurants in Seal Beach. The Starfish back Cottage was perfect for our needs. My sisters (55 years plus) & I relaxed in the patio sun and even BBQ'd-had a bottle of wine and shared stories of the past. The owner Elena made us feel comfortable when checking in and even stopped by to see how our stay was. She has a keen eye for the best places to eat and shop in Seal Beach. We loved the fact that we were able to walk to Main St or the Pier in less than 5 min. We can't wait to book for 2013 and again, Thanks for the woderful experience at the Starfish Cottage. Thanks to Kye and Elena for your warm friendly hospitality, once again. Bronwen and I are completing long stays at both the two bedroom house and the one bedroom cottage on the back of the patio. We stayed in both and will be happy to stay there again. Both are artfully decorated and fully equipped for a delightful stay at Seal Beach. They are about a block from the beach and four blocks from Main Street and its shops and various resturants. Seal Beach is an excellent place for a beach side vacation. It is close to many So Cal attractions and is a friendly quiet beach town, unlike others that are very busy and crowded. We've stayed here both summer and winter and find both to be pleasant. Weather in Seal Beach is very nice. Usually in the 70s when it can be in the 90s further inland. This property is charming, quiet and tastfully decorated. We look forward to our next visit to Seal Beach.

Family Fun!!

My family had a wonder opportunity to rent both Cottages on the Star Fish property.! We had so much fun: There is a Gas BBQ, the cottages are so clean and fully equipped so we could whip up our favorite family recipes,we had our own parking space in a garage (Which is hard to find in Seal Beach!) which included a washer and dryer, the private completely enclosed patio was so nice and kept our little people safe. Most of all when we didn't want to do dishes we walked less then 3 minutes to our favorite restaurants and of course a quick trip to The Cold Stone Ice Cream Parlor for our favorite "Banana Fudge Ice Cream!" The Beach is only a 2 minute walk from the cottage!! Loved being so close especialy when it was nap time! We felt felt very special that the owner acquiesced our family needs for this special gathering! We will be back!

Cozy Home away from Home

My husband and I spent the month of March in the back cottage at the Starfish property. It is such a great location. We live in a rural area and enjoyed walking to restaurants, the post office, shopping, the beach...wonderful. The cottage is very comfortable with everything you need. Nicely decorated, so it doesn't feel like your typical beach rental. The owner's are wonderful hosts and are close by if you need anything. Seal Beach is a special little town and this is a special little cottage. I would highly recommend staying here!

Having stayed at Kye and Elena's other Seal Beach locations several times over the past few years, I was delighted to try the Starfish Cottage. It is a charming two bedroom home located on a quiet street and only a block from the beach. Also only a few blocks from Main Street and all of the restaurants and shops. The Starfish is immaculate, beautifully decorated and fully equiped with everything you will need for your beach vacation. It is close to many SoCal highlights, including Disneyland. Wonderful Romantic Weekend

Now I work a lot and my wife and I were looking for a peacefull place by the beach, and boy did we fall in love with this place! Very quiet relaxing comfortable house with very high end decors as well as a great place close to everything, such as great dinners out as well as great strolls on the beach! Going back again this year! Love this place, you will too!

The amenities and hospitality provided by Kye and Elena are first class all the way. The cottage is tastefully decorated and offers all the comforts of home with a vacation feel. Seal Beach is a quaint little town with alot of character and way more to do than you would expect. There are a variety of restaurants and shops within walking distance of the cottage and the beach is just a half block away. The views are spectacular, I highly recommend an evening stroll down the pier, the sunsets are amazing. If you're looking for big city activities LA, Hollywood and Beverly Hills are all easily accessible with relatively short car ride. I will definitely come back when I have more time to spend enjoying all the area has to offer. Thanks again for everything Kye and Elena, you guys rock!

My husband was traveling to Seal Beach for work and I decided to tag along since I had never been there. Starfish Cottage was a great place for us to stay because while he was working I had all the amenities of home. The cottage is in a great location...it is close to the beach and shopping. I would definitely stay there again. Thanks to Kye and Elena for your hospitality.

We had great time at the Starfish Cottage. It worked beautifully for getting together with kids and Grandkids. There is such a warm & cozy feel to this home away from home. The decor is lovely and comfortable. The cottage is spotless and has a nice little patio in front which is great for relaxing. We enjoyed our walks to the beach with our grandchildren and the had great fun. Beach is short walk away. Thank you Elena for your welcome. We will return ASAP.

Just came back from a weeks stay at this cottage in Seal Beach. It was as expected and there was not anything I wanted that was not there. The place was wonderfully decorated, just right. The plantings in and out showed a great deal of planning and lots of work. It was the prettiest house on the block, and only 150ft from the beach.We loved the front patio for coffee and evening wine. We got to meet nice neighbors. The back shared patio was private and had a nice table, b-b-q, sun chairs and an outdoor surfboard shower, to wash off the beach ( a nice touch) All in all Kai and Elena provided the perfect place in a friendly town ( oh did I mention that Main Street is an easy walk away-good stores and food) I really hope nobody reads this ( selfish) because my wife and I hope to become regular guests and don't want to share! But I am sure others will also find this comfortable shore cottage themselves. Thanks to our hosts

Had a great week in Seal Beach. The location could not have been more perfect. Very short walk to the beach and town. Walk to beach was probably under two minutes and the walk to town had to be only about five minutes. I have stayed at other beaches in the area but this is the one you want as it is not as packed in the summer and has great shops and restaurants. The home was beautifully decorated and very clean, probably the best on the block. Our family is 4 people total including two teenage kids and we had plenty of room. If I had to say anything I didn't like or better put "unexpected" there is a small cottage on the back patio that housed another couple. The other couple was very nice and a pleasure to meet but we didn't want to be too noisy and spoil any of their fun so we didn't use the back patio much. This would NOT keep me from going back I just didn't know ahead of time. The one time I did go in the back to barbecue there was no gas in the propane tank, that would have been nice to use. The owners could not have been any more professional or better to deal with on the rental process, they were quick to respond and helpful all through out the process! I will definitely return to this location! Thanks for the great place to stay!

We loved this house. The way the house was decorated is absolutely beautiful! This house is great for families - with two little ones we liked the enclosed, gated, front area and the outside patio and shower to rinse off sand in the back is great - and very private. Elena and Kye really do a great job with all the thoughtful, finishing touches. This is our second year working with them thru VRBO and would not go anywhere else.

We have been guests of Kye and Elena several times over the past few years and have always been happy with their generous hospitality and their delightful Seal Beach holiday accommodations. When we heard that they were refurbishing the one bedroom, one bathroom cottage behind the Starfish, we were pleased to be the first ones to stay there. Instead of the usual three weeks we have stayed at the Pineapple Cottage, this time we were able to stay for the entire summer and into the fall. This new cottage is very special and an ideal place to call home near the beach. It is private and only a block from the beach and a few blocks from Main Street. All of the furniture and decorations are new and everything you will need is there. Unlike many beach rentals, this one comes with a space in a two car garage. We have always been impressed with the charming design elements and details that Kye and Elena bring to their beach rentals and we liked this one especially. Outside the front door is a nice patio with room to relax and enjoy a private outdoor meal. We hate to leave the cottage and will look forward to our return. Thanks and best wishes to Kye and Elena. THE STARFISH COTTAGE WAS A PERFECT PLACE FOR OUR MEMORIAL THREE DAY WEEKEND. THE COTTAGE IS DECORATED BEAUTIFUL AND IN WALKING DISTANCE FROM FOOD, SHOPPING AND BEST OF ALL THE BEACH.
