  Our family of four (Parents, 8 and 5 year-old's) just had a wonderful week seeing Vancouver with the most perfect location - a mid-century modern inspired floating house on Granville Island. The home is fantastic - well appointed and spacious. We utilized the roof deck often for the BBQ, hot tub, and just taking in the splendid view across False Creek to the glass towers of Vancouver. Don't worry about too much movement being on the water - we never noticed even when the chandelier swayed from the passing boats. The location is perfect. We ran every morning on the seawalls and across the three different bridges as well as picked culinary delights each day from nearby Granville Market. Rick and Julie are lovely hosts and the nearby neighbors in this small knit community of floating homes are all charming. We can't wait to return.

  I spent months looking for the right place to stay (hotels...houses)...its here. Vancouver is an amazing city but to enjoy the city here is a different experience. Granville has so much to offer...the market...shopping...food...and you are not in the grid of downtown. If you have extra guests please send them to The Granville Hotel (right beside house) and a great spot.

  We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay on this floating home. We brought our three children (10, 9, 4) and thanks to a few ground rules (no leaving the house without an adult, walk on the docks, etc.) did not experience any issues being surrounded by water. You could tell the home had been recently remodeled and that the owners had an eye for design. The home was clean and well-furnished. We prepared most of our meals in the beautiful kitchen using food from the island market. The kids loved the bunk beds, the rooftop hot tub and the instant access to Granville Island’s many features. The reading nook overlooking False Creek and Vancouver, complete with a pair of binoculars, was a nice touch. The master bed was one of the more comfortable we’ve ever slept on. The Internet was simple to connect to and was fast. The media components (tv, dvd, iPod) worked and were not complicated. The home came with a parking pass, allowing us to drive to a few of the city’s attractions (Stanley Park is 10 minutes away, Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge was 30 minutes or so). We used the convenient Aquabus service to get to Science World. We highly recommend this home.

  Staying in the floathome was a dream come true for me and my family this summer. Having spied this small (14) group of floating homes while on another trip to Vancouver I jumped at the opportunity to see what it would be like to live in the middle of the best Vancouver has to offer. We were not disappointed! The home itself is in wonderful new condition, fully outfitted with modern, quality furnishings, and very clean. The views, especially from the top deck, are breathtaking. It is so quiet in the home, even with all the windows open that you cannot imagine that you are so close to everything including the wonderful fresh market on Granville. We did not have a car but rode bikes wherever we needed to go. The Aquabus takes you and your bike over to Vancouver and the numerous bike paths. One bonus was the neighborhood and how everyone made us feel so welcome. Our teenager also enjoyed the freedom afforded on Granville Island. You can really enjoy all the things a tourist would enjoy without feeling like a tourist.Many restaurants within walking distance and public transportation is everywhere. There are many steps to consider in the home and coming up and down the ramp to the homes with your bike is always an adventure depending on the tides.If you are in good shape and active this would be no problem. Older kids would love this experience. Great place to hang out and enjoy the good life!
