This Twain Harte cabin/house is 2 minutes from downtown. It is in a very quiet residential area where the kids can play safely. The home has a full length front porch, large comfortable living room with attached dining area that opens up to a big sunny outdoor deck in the back yard. The kids room has cute bunk beds and a happy feeling to it. There is a quaint full bathroom centrally located. There is another very comfortable bedroom and full bathroom next to the kids room with a full size bed. The master bedroom has a relaxing layout, queen size bed, and its own door to the outside. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils and has everything you'll need to make a great family meal. In addition, there is a utility room with the all important washer and dryer. If it gets a little chilly the living room has a wood fireplace for relaxing after a hard day. The den also has a beautiful free standing woodstove for additional comfort.
Skiing and snowboarding are nearby at the family friendly Dodge-Ridge.Tubing and sledding are nearby as well. Twain Harte is 10 minutes below the the main snowfall line so it is easier to get around when you are not up the road on the slopes.
Guest passes to the exclusive private Twain Harte Lake open in the summer are available for purchase to our renters during the summer months. Pinecrest Lake (free entrance) is a beautiful, picturesque mountain lake and is nearby with kayak, paddle board, paddleboat and motorboat rentals. Lots of good stream and lake fishing opportunities in the area. Gold-panning in Columbia. Water and jet-skiing at New Melones. Horseback riding at Kennedy Meadows. Hiking is available everwhere. Excellent dining in Twain Harte and historic downtown Sonora. Fantastic family owned supermarket and drug/variety and hardware stores in Twain Harte. Cinema 9 in Sonora. Outdoor movie theater in summer at Pinecrest Lake. Yosemite National Park is a beautiful hours drive away.
Our cabin/house has a very cozy mountain cottage feel and is located in the middle of lots of great recreational activities and beautiful sites. Make this your home away from home and we think you'll be back again.

A cute cabin/house that was very comfortable and close to town. Well cared for and with nice furnishings and decor. Plenty of sun so not too dark in the woods. Our family has stayed in Twain Harte several times before and we liked this place just as much or more than any of the ohter cabins we have rented.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children.

We thoroughly enjoyed spending our Christmas vacation in your cabin in Twain Harte. The location was perfect, near our family in Sonora and close enough to Dodge Ridge for skiing. Cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed or wanted, a true "turn-key" cabin. The bad news - after over a month the rental deposit hasn't been returned despite several promises to get it in the mail soon. Still hoping this can be resolved but it was a not so great ending to a terrific vacation!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
