Beach House on the Rocks
- Minimum stay:5 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:Yes
This new state-of-the-art beach bungalow with a granite seawall on two sides
has an uninterrupted view across the waters in front to Lions Head and behind is
the magnificent world heritage site of Table Mountain. To enjoy this magnificent
setting, the bungalow is fitted with glass windows on every side. Landscape
wonders like Lion’s Head are visible from the kitchen, living room, main bedroom
and even the bathroom!
The house physically abuts the sea such that indoors you feel very much part
of the outdoors. You can slide back all the glass doors and then the house
becomes part of the rocks, beach and seascape. Luxurious but not pretentious—
the house blends into this environment and allows you to experience it in the
most relaxed way.
The house is private when you want it and is open to nature as and when you
wish it. It is very green as well (solar panels, water recycling).
There are too many luxurious features to list them all (please send an e-mail if
there is some feature of concern to you) but among them:
• Wooden decks all around leading to a private entertainment area that
includes a Jacuzzi hot tub recessed into the deck, seating, table, a
pagoda/gazebo, barbecue and sink
• Two bedrooms (master and guest)—all with views and an optional
bedroom now furnished as an office
• Two bathrooms, one with a bidet, large tub and a boulder on one side to
form the wall
• The gorgeous open plan kitchen has magnificent views with all the works
(gas stove, microwave and convection oven, icemakers, etc.)
• Wireless internet throughout the property
• Flat screen HD TV in all the rooms with satellite and built in speakers for
music throughout the house
• Beautiful gardens (including some with herbs for cooking)
• An outdoor shower nestled among the boulders on the property
• A garage available
• A large basement with washer/dryer, bathroom and other amenities
(perfect for production companies doing photo shoots)
• No steps—from the street and throughout the house and decks
• Easy walk into restaurants, shops and beach in Camps Bay (but the house
is on a more exclusive and quiet beach)

A 5 star WOW! A fantastic house, with a great beach, perfect location to town, unbelievable sunsets and…A great host! As all of the reviews earlier stated, “Wished we had stayed longer”…5 nights is not enough. From the minute we arrived Bernie and Rich were taking care of every need and want. Shopping was taken care of; a fantastic massage was lined up to take care of any jet lag. Bernie also lined up a great driver and guide, Daniel Pagmar (ALLABOUT CAPE TOWN; 021.425.1255). Camps Bay is a great location to enjoy the beach, as well as, Cape Town. Just a short hop over and you are in down town. Very safe, very pretty and lots to do! Thanks for a great stay and we will be back! Best, Kate and Eric Davis, CaliforniaRecommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, people with disabilities.

My wife and I stayed at the beach house for 5 days and regret that we couldn't stay longer. We had a fairly good idea about the house from the description and the photos, but to be honest everything was just better. You have to be there to fully appreciate living next to the Atlantic and see the waves breaking just outside your windows. The view from the house is unbeatable - the Atlantic, Lions Head and the beautyful Camps bay. The house is tastefully decorated and we enjoyed every minute. We are frequent travellers and have been in Cape Town several times - this is absolutely the best accomodation ever and we can't wait to return. We highly recommend the beach house for both short and long term stays. Dennis, DenmarkDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This house definitely lived up to the beautiful photos. Opening the sliding glass walls to enjoy the ocean air and the stunning views was a real treat. The walk to the grocery store and the Camps Bay restaurants and shops is very easy. It is also a short walk to the hop on hop off tourist bus, which made exploring the city without a vehicle very easy and cheap. The host was extremely helpful throughout my stay, and I couldn't have asked for a more welcoming introduction to Cape Town. Highlights of the house for me included the outdoor shower and hot tub, and the unobstructed views of Lion's Head from so many places within the house. If I ever get the opportunity to come this way again, I will definitely try to stay here again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, people with disabilities.

My husband and I were looking for ocean, comfortable amenities and great location! We received it all at Beach House on the Rocks! The sound of the surf hitting the rocks at night (amazing doors that can be cracked at the top and feel secure) seeing the lights of Bakoven @ night, the relaxing hot tub. All were must haves! It's a short walk to the market and delicious dining and shopping. We'd recommend this "little piece of heaven"!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I stayed at this fabulous ocean front house on my stay from August 22-26, 2011. The location can't be beat, being on the popular Camp's Bay where there are a ton of restaurants and easy access to everything around Cape Town. The house is at the edge of the bay, so you are directly on the ocean but also looking back on the lights of the bay at night. The house itself is beautifully furnished with all the modern conveniences and appliances...and the master shower is unforgettable. Definitely, a place to return to.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, people with disabilities.

This was the most magical stay that we have experienced. Beautiful house, simple, comfortable and luxurious. Waking up in the morning to the sound of the ocean and sitting on the rocks outside the house watching the sunset. Wow but the ocean is sure cold. A very peaceful and energising holiday!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 10/10
