    This home is very comfortable, with generous common areas that can easily accomodate a large crowd. We hosted a dinner party for close to 30 people with no problem. And the spare fridge is very handy for such parties. There are nice views of Pleasant Bay from both the living room and the screened-in porch. The house is also well situated for a breeze off the bay that cools it quickly. Access to the bay is easy for kayaking and swimming. The house also has a nice library for those who are not interested in the new flat screen TV. The artwork around the house and yard is a nice touch as well. The house was clean and well maintained. Garbage and recycling pick-up were timely . The owner was very responsive to all questions and provided plenty of information about the house and local service. All in all, it's a great place to stay.

    Our Family enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. There were 9 of us and there was plenty of room. Morning coffee sitting down by the river was a favorite. The beaches were near and of course, Nauset Beach was spectacular. Our grandsons loved riding there boggie boards on the waves. The book with all the info told us exactly where to go for everything we needed.

    Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

    The minute we walked in we knew we were in heaven. The house has an amazing vibe and welcomed us with beauty and gentle warmth. The view is fantastic and peaceful. The local area has everything we needed. We will be back!

    This was our second year staying in this wonderful vacation home. The layout of the house is perfect for our family. Living area large enough to all gather, and the distance between the sleeping areas is an advantage. Our young grandchildren enjoy Skaket Beach, Pleasant Bay, Tonset Landing and Pilgrim Lake. All are within a few miles of the house.

    Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

    The house was big with a lovely view of a pond. The living room/dining area was very large, panelled & had great views of the pond & forest surrounding the house. The town of Orleans has many very good restaurants & a great coffee shop. You couldn't ask for more.

    Wow! If you are looking for a wonderful place that gives you the opportunity to enjoy all that the Cape has to offer, look no more, We stayed here with three other couples in this spacious home. We hiked lovely trails, kayaked on the river, walked miles on the sands of a beautiful ocean beach with nary a home in sight, ate a delicious lobster dinner at a local restaurant, and cooked in the fully stocked kitchen at this perfect vacation home. Sit on the screened porch, relax, and watch the timeless river. I would come back here in a minute. The inside of the home and grounds are well maintained, clean, and very comfortable.

    Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

    Our vacation was a perfect combination of fun and relaxation at this lovely home. There is ample room for family dinners, places to hang out and enjoy the views and outdoors. We rented kayaks and used them every day, visited Nauset, Marconi and Cahoon State Beach. The house has beautiful artwork and great literature making it a great choice for those looking for a memorable venue. We hope to return in 2012

    Our week at your wonderful Cape home is about to end. We have had fabulous weather and have kept very busy with various activities with our sons and grandchildren. The little grandkids loved looking for "creatures" at Skaket, several town landings, and swimming at Crystal Lake. The layout of the house is perfect for our family. Space to be together, and space to escape for a quiet time. We loved the view from the porch and ate most meals there. We all had a restful vacation and hope to return next summer the same week. We will be in touch when the time comes to secure a week for 2012. We have friends and family who live in Orleans and Eastham so we always enjoy coming to the Cape to see them.

    Thank you for letting us use your wonderful home. We had 11 guests for our grandparents 50th anniversary. WE had 3 generatons staying here and each one enjoyed the stay. The view was so nice to look out on and we enjoyed it when we ate meals on the screened in porch. It was nice to have so many places to sit, with all the tables and dining areas. One time we did all fit at the long indoor table to paly a game of spoons! We also brought our 2 boats, a canoe and kyak and had a great time taking them out on the water.

    Hi Susan, We had a wonderful week. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed the picturesque setting so much. I can certainly see how the surroundings must have inspired such creativity. Our only complaint was that the week ended too soon!

Simply took our breaths away. Put in your kayak or bicycle from your door. An artists dream, this was way beyond anything we had imagined.

We really enjoyed our breakfasts in the screen porch overlooking the river, barbecuing for dinner and going for a quick ride in the row boat down the river. Beautiful scenery and relaxing atmosphere. We also loved going to the beach (short drive) and taking a walk to the lake. The place is very cozy and has lovely original art in almost every room. We just had an exceptional time in the place and in Orleans

    a great cape vacation with something for everyone westchester, ny Review Submitted: October 2, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009 We hosted a large family -union and this proved to be a perfect locale. The interior of the house was warm and had the prefect blend of large common spaces in the great room, a screened porch where we ate all our meals and enjoyed the views of the bay (yes we saw sailboats in the canal just like the picture on the website), and well dispersed bedrooms to give everyone their free space ( including plenty of showers for everyone) - all of this while maintaining the charm of a "classic" cape cod house. As 20 year Cape veterans (primarily Orleans and Chatham) this house opened our eyes to the beautiful lakes that are less than a mile away which was great for our young children. In general the house was amazingly private yet less than 10 minutes from ocean and bay beaches and even closer to town for shopping. The only things we missed were an enclosed outdoor shower and a bit more pure outside "hanging-out space" as the many trees and beautiful plants were abundant. However, this was all offset by the beauty of the location and the pure "live-ability" of the house.
