We have traveled to Budapest many times and this apartment is more like a luxury home. It has to be the nicest, most convienent, and beautiful place I have stayed. Dorka the property manager is a real sweet lady and took very good care of us and was always available when needed. I would like to thank the owner for letting us stay in this beautiful place. We frequent Budapest and would like to stay here again. You will not be dissapointed. Easy access to transportation, shopping and parks. Great find!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

Gorgeous apartment! Stunningly decorated and furnished. The neighborhood is the best (it did help that I grew up a few streets away!)The service by management was also outstanding. Will not stay anyplace else!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We just got back from a trip to Hungary to learn more about our heritage and dance around at the Sziget music festival - both of which were amazingly fun, but the icing on the cake was this apartment. It is absolutely gorgeous with high ceilings and a great open feeling. My family and I (4 of us) stayed here and it was easy to congregate around the kitchen bar, the (office?) room table, sink into couches in the livingroom and watch the Olympics and/or have breakfast or grill dinner out on the deck. This apartment is on a street with Embassies and trees and it's quiet and regal. The apartments are so nice they were filming a commercial in one of them while we were there. And it's completely quiet - I heard a bird once in the middle of the night but other than that it is peaceful. It is close to the baths and Heroes Square plus a couple of nice restaurants, but you'd want to take the train or a cab (cabs are quick and cheap) just a short distance away if you want to be in the thick of things. It's simple to pop into the downtown area for shopping or restaurants and then pop bck to the apartment without wasting your whole day in transit. All of the amenities are there - washer, dryer, dishwasher, a phone you can use to call the local cabs (we lived off of City Taxi - they're fast and cheap), a grill, coffeemaker, toaster, a fully stocked kitchen - everything is there. When you arrive, the apartment is down the little walkway on the right side of the building. I walked around the whole place with my suitcase before I figured that out. :) It's up 4 flights of stairs, but there is a lift - it's very old and very small, so I dont know if a wheelchair would fit in it? If so, it would be the only thing that could fit. I never wanted to leave. I cant believe the owners would live anywhere else - this place was amazing.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, girls getaway.

This 3 bedroom, 3 bath apartment was fantastic. It was huge, well designed, clean, and quiet. It was exactly as depicted by the photos online. Dorka, who manages the apartment, made arrangements for a car to meet us at the airport and transport us to the apartment. She let us know the cost of the car trip before scheduling it. She was available to us via her cell phone during our stay. We called her on 2 occasions for help and she was available and very helpful. Six of us stayed in the apartment for 4 days and all hated to have to leave. The location is great, close enough for walking to a grocery store, bakery, and main streets to sights. The walk to sights is a fair distance so anyone who would have difficulty walking might want to look for an apartment in a different location or rent a car or use a taxi. Once in the tourist area there are Hop On Hop Off buses that take you to sights of interest. This way you can spend as much or as little time at a sight as you wish before getting back on the bus. I can not say enough good things about our experience in this apartment in Budapest and with Dorka. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We've rented many times through VRBO and this is one of the best. It is quiet, spacious, with high ceilings, beautifully appointed and equipped, with all the amenities. Large double sink master tiled bath with dual rainfall showers, heated slate floor, wonderful lighting and tons of hot water. There are two more large baths plus a half. The dynamic young woman managing the property, named Dorka, is fluent in English and seems up to any task. She arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the airport, hired a six individual seat Mercedes mini-bus with driver for a day of touring (at a mere $80 for five hours), and at my request, even had home made goulash prepared and stored in the refrigerator on our arrival. A grocery store is only two or so blocks away as is the historic Heroes' Square and the famous Hungarian baths and spa as well as two subway stops. Also nearby is the famous Gundel restaurant, not to be missed, especially for Sunday brunch. Also, don't miss a walk across the Chain Bridge then take the funicular up to visit Maria Tharesa's Palace. At night and well lit up, it's truly magical (see www.tomskoi.com then click on photoshows to see Budapest). A one hour night cruise on the Danube is spectacular. Visit the Cafe at the New York Palace Hotel for Belle Epoch/Baroque trappings at their best.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, adventure seekers.

the apt has an old world feeling even though it is equipped as well as any modern apt in nyc. The high ceilings, large rooms, great light and furnishings make it easy to "come home" to after a day of exploring Budapest. I would recommend the apt to anyone looking for a great place to stay.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers.

Thank you for making our family trip to Budapest a memorable one. The flat is exactly as shown in the pictures and really neat to see in person and call our home in Hungary. Dorka was very welcoming, accomodating and a wealth of information. The property is located within walking distance to many embasies, restaurants and lovely sights. We would not hesitate to return again. Many thanks!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

My husband, 21 year old daughter, two adult friends and myself stayed at this magnificent apartment for 5 days in June of 2010 as part of a month long trip through Europe. This apartment, by far, was the best place we stayed! When I first approached the huge, old building through the gate dragging my suitcase into the tiny elevator, I was a bit skeptical. However, once Dorka (manager of the apt.) opened the door, I could not believe how excited I felt! The massive moldings, the 15 feet ceilings, the lovely, classic furniture, the art work, the tile work, the windows, the outdoor terrace with comfy cushions for the built in seat, I was amazed. My husband kept saying "you did really good, honey." In addition, the location was perfect; slightly out of the center of town, but close enough to walk or take the subway which is 2 blocks away. Also the property is 5 mins walk to the Baths and a great park. Dorka was extremely timely and efficient and very helpful and it was a pleasure to work with her. I totally recommend this property, you will love it.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers.

The flat is very spacious with a good distribution of the rooms. Tastefully and warmly decorated so feels very homely despite the size. The master bedroom is just fabulous. The second double room is nice too, but nothing like the mater bedroom in terms of volume or view. The two other bedrooms are much smaller. It is also reasonably well located, within walking distance or a few metro stops away from most sights. I can only highly recommend it to groups of friends or families with grown-up (more than 8 years old), well-behaved kids.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, families with teenagers.

We took up residence at VLF a few months prior to the birth of our first child. Expats from Canada, we were busy working on the development of the Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace, Budapest. We had lived in the 5th District for years but as soon as we saw this flat, we didn’t think twice and took up residence. The spaciousness of the apartment is overwhelming: imagine, almost literally, opening the door to a penthouse level football field, complete with the most wonderful collection of antiques, art, masterful modern lighting and colour. The kitchen is a chef’s dream; the private terrace hidden up in the trees. The flat is the ultimate entertaining venue with soaring ceilings and a plethora of rooms that go on and on and on. It is warm, hospitable, incredibly modern and over the top luxurious. It truly is one of the most fantastic memories we have of our 6 years living abroad.Did you find this review helpful?
