If you are looking for a cozy, relaxing hideaway then this is your place. My wife and I already new the area from a recent visit in November. We arrived at night so using the GPS to guide you is recommended. When you look out the front window that first morning it is breathe taking. The house was nice and clean and has a modern kitchen. We were there during the great snow and ice storm of 2012. The house stayed warm and the power was not affected at all. Douglas and Nita are very wonderful people. We had our two dogs and one cat. the yard was great for the dogs plus we were able to take them to the lighthouse park. Everything we needed was there. The local restaurants are great and it is not hard to get to "civilization", which is 10 minutes away.We saw the famous Bald Eagle, Sea Otters, Osprey, Sea Lions, and lots of other birds from the deck. We both Highly recommend the house and would rent it again if we get back up to the area.

The Lighthouse view at Brown's Dash point was a lovely and extremely charming apartment, with views of unbelievable magnitude. Every day a new barge, ship, boat, or ferry motored past our front porch - and we were in such a nice area - we never had trouble finding things to do. Some wonderful close activities: Dash Point State Park, Gino's Bistro (amazing martini's - try them all!), The Diner in Brown's point is awesome! Great specials - listen to the chef and order his recommendations! The Century movie theater in Federal Way is spotless, and so comfortable! The mall was a good place to walk when it was raining. Ruston Way in Tacoma is the best walking place ever! And the Point Defiance Zoo also was a blast. The apt was comfortable - clean - and the owners were very involved and helpful at all times. The grill works well, the kitchen is fully equipped, DVD player and TV - we didn't use the fireplace (too early in year) but it was very attractive. All in all - it was a great place for staying a month! Very private - in an extremely nice neighborhood, and felt like we were in a home, not a hotel. The apt does required descending a number of stairs to get to so anyone who has issues with stairs, or carrying luggage up and down them should be forewarned.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, adventure seekers.

I spent a weekend in the Lighthouse View home during a business trip - and it was one of the best weekends I spent when away from homw on business. The house is well equiped - as advertized. The view is wonderful, and the location very quiet. The kitchen has everything you need - including a good coffee machine... Walking to the beach was about 15-20 min. walk, in each direction (north or south) - unless there was a direct path to the beach frmo the house that I missed. Recommended to anyone who is looking for a well kept, comfortable and relaxing place.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.
