Whether you are a local or come from afar, with 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, and 3 living areas, Hummingbird Hill is the perfect getaway! Our vacation home is absent from the feel of a rental property. We offer all the little extras for your comfort and convenience such as luxury linens, a TV in every room, a computer & printer for your use, WIFI, and free long distance!
Perhaps simple Rest & Relaxation is Priority #1? Hummingbird Hill is just perfect! It is comfy, cozy and peppered with watercolors from local artist, Deb Collins. Our home is located in a quiet, private community with extremely easy access and plenty of parking. It's “just right” for couples and friends who can appreciate the down-to-earth culture and “homeyness” of the area and our property. Curl up with a good book by the fire, move downstairs and watch a great movie from our video library on the big screen, or head out to the back porch where you can settle into a rocking chair, listen to your favorite tunes on the outdoor speakers and take in the sunset over the long range mountain views.
Ready to get out of the house? Well, there is something for everyone here in the Mountains! During your stay, choose from championship golf, hiking, horseback riding, or tennis. Enjoy arts, crafts, antiquing, concerts, fairs and festivals. So, you are all about the water? Well, you have arrived! With 133 miles of pristine shoreline, Lake Chatuge offers it all……Swimming, Fishing, Boating & Jet Skiing (three marinas with rentals close by) all amongst the most beautiful lake and mountain views! Towns County Beach Park is just up the road with a covered picnic pavilion and playground. There are many parks and recreation areas in close proximity to Hummingbird Hill, including Jack Rabbit Park where you can get in a daily walk or bike ride on the hiking/biking trail.
Care to “Day-Trip-It”? About 30 minutes away is the quaint town of Helen where you can shop, dine, feed the bears, go tubing down the river, visit the water park, play a round of putt-putt ,or take in Anna Ruby Falls just down the road (one of many Falls in the area). Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia, is just around the corner waiting for you to hike to the top (or drive if you prefer) and enjoy the views across four states. The Appalachian Trail and the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway are both great “Day-Trip-Its” as well. How about a scenic ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Railway? It’s all here in Mountain Top Georgia! And, all this 'fun' is just a hop, skip & jump from Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the Cherokee Indian Reservation (& Casino!).
However you choose to spend your time in the area, one thing is for certain, you will enjoy your stay at Hummingbird Hill.

We just got back from spending Thanksgiving in Hummingbird Hill –it is truly a magical place! From the moment you enter Jane’s magnificent house you feel at home; as if a wonderful friend had left for a week and left you their home to enjoy. All you need to bring are your clothes-everything else is provided for you. If you love to cook, the house has all the amenities and then some for a wonderful meal which you could eat outside in one of her two tables which overlook the spectacular mountains or the lake, or indoors, still providing the outside view from all the picture windows. Hiawassee provides that quaint small town feeling with all the country ambiance-the people are friendly and very warm. For the nature lovers the wrap-around porch on both levels allows you to linger on one of the many rocking chairs and observe the hummingbirds come and feed along with other feathered friends. I just loved sitting outside mid-day to read one of my favorite books while the leaves sing their music beckoning you to a little nap. Jane taste in every corner of her home is impeccable; she provides little perks throughout her house. I have been to Jane’s home twice now and plan on returning this summer. Once you stay here, it will be hard to equal any other home anywhere you may stay. Hiawassee is a place you will want to return again and again and staying in Jane’s home will make your experience unforgettable.Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This home was beyond our expectations; it was well appointed in the furnishings with an eye to comfort. The owners had thought of every necessity for the traveler and wants all who enter to feel at home and welcomed. We have stayed in many rentals in the past however this one far exceeded its description. The kitchen was very well stocked and the cook felt right at home. We both enjoyed the wifi ability, the theatre room (with a library of movies that you would not believe), the views from the porch in early morning and late evening, and especially the birds and hummers....what a show!!! The Copper Door in downtown Hayesville provided a wonderful Birthday celebration for Mrs.,but the list provided by the owners were visited and enjoyed as well. We recommend this loving house to anyone and look forward to returning. Thanks, Ms. Jayne for the beautiful flowers and Bill thanks you for the bowls of candy so lovely provided.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

The house was amazing!! We loved the wrap around porch, and the beautiful views of the mountains. My husband and I ate breakfast out there every morning of our stay. It was also great going down the the bottom floor of the house to watch movies (they had a great selection to choose from, and surround sound). We also enjoyed walking further into the neighborhood for more beautiful views of the mountains. I would definitely recommend Hummingbird Hill, and will most definitely be coming back with friends or family!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Wow! What a great place to stay! The listing description is accurate but the photos cannot depict the beauty of this rental. Jayne has created an amazing retreat at Lake Chatuge and it's chock full of tons of great amenities. The house and grounds are well maintained and we recommend you give it a try. You can't beat the price! We didn't even use the three floors with three separate living spaces (only the main level) because it was just my husband and me, but there's everything one could want. Big screen TV, games for kids and big kids, coffee and flavored creamers, laundry supplies, baby provisions, a kitchen with every imaginable gadget, including tons of cookout and eat-out-on-the-porches supplies. 2 gas tanks for plenty of grilling, a great view of the woods and lake, and a super-clean, lovely home. We did a lot of nothing on most days and boy, what a peaceful, quiet place to do that, just sitting on the porch for meals, coffee, dessert, reading, and conversation. We spent 1/2 day jet skiing on Lake Chatuge and what a blast that was! Jayne has thought of everything and was very helpful in recommending eating places and a jet ski rental venue. We had great meals and service at Brothers restaurant and The Chophouse, both in Young Harris, the Old Bavarian Inn in Helen, GA, and Big Al's Pizza Buffet in Hiawasse just a few miles from the house. Local folks were very friendly and cordial. Thanks so much, Jayne, for a super first wedding anniversary! Most sincerely, Walt and Ann.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My family of 14 spent NY weekend in this house and the one next door. It worked out perfectly! The home was well stocked with everything you could possibly need, which helped as we did a lot of cooking. Everything was neat and clean, but most of all, very homey and inviting. The owner was very helpful in answering all of my questions and making me feel comfortable about my upcoming stay - she was a very nice person. Everyone in my family said they liked these two homes together better than the one last year, because they felt more like home. The view was (as my husband called it) "a million dollar view." Thank you so much for giving my family a wonderful holiday together.Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

We recently stayed at Hummingbird for the week of Thanksgiving. The cabin is absolutely beautiful. Very tastefully decorated. Every last detail thought of including fresh flowers. Stunning views of Lake Chatuge from the wrap-around deck complete with rockers and a lower deck. The cleanest cabin we've ever rented. Great layout for privacy. Well-furnished kitchen and stocked pantry. We wouldn't hestitate to recommend to friends. Well-situated to enjoy the mountains. We will definitely come back!Recommended for: Families with young children, sightseeing, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

To say that everything was perfect, is an understatement, but so very accurate. Every single detail was covered: upscale, spotlessly clean, well supplied, cozy, spacious home, all with gorgeous mountain and lake views. The owners have decorated, stocked and organized this beautiful home so well, you don't want to ever leave. From the Halloween candy, thoughtfully placed throughout the house for our enjoyment, to the mums by the fireplace, to the sheer beauty of the home and surrounding views, we felt royally welcomed the moment we stepped through the front door. The location is ideal for those who want to be off the beaten path without having to drive far to enjoy good restaurants, shopping, gorgeous mountain drives, hikes and waterfalls. Truly, this was our family's best VRBO mountain getaway to date! We will definitely return.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

You won't find a more peaceful, relaxing place to stay. With bedrooms and bathrooms on three floors, everyone has privacy and the owners have furnished everything you need to be comfortable. This was our second visit and we enjoyed every minute of it; from the beautiful sunsets to the hungry birds at the bird feeders. There is plenty of room for family or friends. We felt like we were staying in a first class hotel in the woods. There is always something to do or see in the mountains.Recommended for: Sightseeing.
