My husband and I stayed at this condo on three different occasions last year (2012). We were there for six weeks (Sept/Oct) on our first visit, 9 days at Thanksgiving and then finally for two weeks at Christmas. This condo was superb. Nicely furnished and very clean. We didn't need to bring anything -- just our clothes. The location couldn't be better -- right on the beach and the amenities at the facility were outstanding. It was quiet --- absolutely no parties, etc.. Check in and check out precedures were quick and easy. The owner, Brian, is extremely responsive and a real pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend this vacation rental and we will definitely return!!

We recently returned from vacation at Brians property at A Place at the Beach. What a wonderful experience. Brian was helpful from the get go. He answered all of my questions and put me at ease as this was my first vrbo rental. We arrived to find the unit exactly as advertised. The unit was neat and well stocked. There were a varity of movies, books and games in the unit to suit any taste. There were boogie bords, beach chairs, umbrellas and a few beach toys...boy does that save a big hassle to not drag those from home. Also, I was pleased to find dish soap and dishwasher detergent as well as TP and papertowels! The complex ammentities were great too! We were literally steps from the beach, indoor and outdoor pool as well as both gas and charcoal grils and the couryard with playground. Everything was clean and well maintained! The Beach was spectacular...nothing but beach for as far as you could see...and tons of shells. Fort Macon was amazing and just 2 minutes away. We also visited the Aquarium, Beaufort, Shackleford banks, Morehead City, and the Maritime museum...everything was within a short drive and well worth it. We mostly ate at the condo and had everything we needed to prepare meals with ease...we did enjoy Amos Mosquitos (very accomodating to the kiddos) and Fins. The diner just down the road was descent too. I highly reccomend this unit at A Place at the Beach. I can honestly say it was the most relaxing and fun vacation my family has had. There trully is something for everyone here! Many of the guests we met have been coming back to A Place at the Beach year after year. Although it may not be next year we will be back. This condo is worth a repeat visit!

Me and my family had a wonderful time. We just booked again for this year. The location was central to the two pools and the beach. Unit was well decorated and clean. The kids loved the slide and I loved the hot tub. Brian is very helpful with booking. LIke I said we are going again this year.

The pictures are exactly what we found upon arrival, steps to the beach, pools, and grills. We felt the condo was well maintained and clean. I would recommend this condo to friends. I would also recommend trips to Historic Beaufort and ferries to Shackleford Island. Ferries to Lookout Lighthouse can be found out of Harkers Island. All very inexpensive and seeing the wild ponies was incredible. We saw dolphins just off the beach! Amos Misquotes was a great restaurant but our favorite turned out to be Queen Ann's revenge in Beaufort. Be wary of the pirates!!!

If how long it took me to write a review is indication, my family has a very busy and hectic life so a vacation was definately needed. This location was amazingly relaxing with just enough stuff to keep our 3 yr old entertained. The condo was very nice and clean and believe me, I'm extremely particular when it comes to cleanliness. We loved this place and hope to return as often as our schedules allow. The owner, Brian, was also very helpful and easy to work with.

My overall experience at this property was excellent. The owner proved to be very professional from my first inquiry about the property all the way through to the prompt return of my security deposit. The condo had everything that we needed to enjoy our stay. The facilities at A Place at the Beach where very nice. We did not use the outdoor pool during our stay during Thanksgiving, but the indoor pool was nice and the outdoor hot tub was very relaxing. The beach in front of the complex was wide and clean and Fort Macon State Park was just a short drive from the condo. You could actually see the sign designating the boundary of the park from the beach in front of the condo. I would recommend this condo to my friends.

Loved our trip to A Place at the Beach III and our stay in this condo! Brian was great to work with and the condo was perfect for our family of 5. It had everything we needed! Great location within the complex. We really liked Atlantic Beach and how low-key it was. Not as commercialized as some of the other beach vacation spots. The grounds were beautiful! Loved both pool and the beach. Great views on the beach of both the sunset and sunrise. Grocery stores only about 8 min away. Propane grills were great! Perfect chance to meet others staying in the complex. Loved that the indoor pool was right next to them so that the kids could swim while we cooked. We would most definitely stay here again!! We only ate out twice...McCurdy's was AMAZING! Great sunset views from their back deck! The seafood buffet was ok (not bad, just nothing special)...a little disappointed that it did not include crab legs... We visited Fort Macon - Our son loved it. Great place to tour; Maritime Museum in Beufort - our daughter loved the Blackbeard exhibit. Both places were free too! Also took the kids to the Aquarium in Pine Knolls (just south of Atlantic Beach) and really enjoyed that as well. They have some nature trails that we started to walk but got attacked by mosquitos.

This is a great place to stay. So comfortable and well stocked! The condo was clean and cozy. All the comforts of home and all the fun things you need for the beach. The locaton of the unit within the complex was ideal! Just a short walk to the pool, the ocean and the grill. :) The staff at the place at the beach was also friendly. Our boys loved the water slide as much as they loved the waves in the ocean. The putt putt golf course that was free to use was one of their favorites as well. This was our families first time renting with VRBO and we know we hit the jackpot. Thank you Brian for all you do to maintain such an amazing and relaxing place to visit. We hope to be back soon!

Super Condo - while there I was able to see several other units, and was very glad we stayed in this one, much nicer furnishings, updated with all that you need. My kids age 4 & 5 loved the water slide and the pool and the beach. Has all that you need for a great vacation.

My stay at "A Place at the Beach" was just great! Not only is the beach awesome, but dealing with the owner of this condo was so easy. He accommodated any special requests I had and always answered me promptly. The condo is perfect for a family to enjoy the beach. Anything you need is there and the unit is clean and up to date. Nice pool and Atlantic Beach was great! I will definitely go back and rent from Brian again.

Amazingly easy owner to work with!

We were visiting over the Christmas holiday, in conjunction with a work trip. As my work trips are often delayed or moved because of weather, equipment issues, or other forces beyond our control, it was important that we had the flexibility to move and change our stay as the test dates changed. Brian was *extremely* willing to help us out through the whole process...I haven't found any other owners as easy to work with in this regard...usually it is "Book your days and you're locked in." So for that alone, he gets the 5-star rating! As for the condo itself, the 5 of us enjoyed it very much! It was about a 60-second walk to the beach, where we often saw dolphins just off the shore on our several walks there. He had it well-equipped with games and movies which we used often. Our kids are all under 10, so I'm not sure how teens would do. Physically, the building is older, but it was been very well maintained and updated. There are 2 TVs with cable and DVD players. The floor space is not huge, but is well laid out so that most people can find a quiet corner when necessary--worked very well for our family. The location is a little out of the way, but that was kind of nice, too! There is not too much in the immediate area, so a car is definitely recommended. But just over the causeway, Morehead City will have everything you need. We found several good local restauarants during our stay. Again, thank you Brian for your help! It made for a memorable Christmas vacation that we would have been hard-pressed to accomplish otherwise!

Great and Relaxing Vacation!!!!

My husband and I took our two boys on a relaxing vacation to this wonderful place!!! We had all the amenities of home and a very clean and nice place to stay. We enjoyed the wonderful swimming pool with the slide. (The boys favorite part of the vacation was the pool!!!) The walk to the beach is very nice and well lite at night. I would recommend this place to any of my friends and family that are looking for a very restful vacation. We are planning on going back very soon!!!! Thank you again for letting us share your beautiful "Place at the Beach"!!!!!!

This is a great rental. Condo found as pictured and described. Beautifully decorated and fully renovated/updated. Great proximity to beach and pool. Enjoyed working owner who was very helpful and easy to work with. Will recommend to others and return again.

My family (consisting of my husband & 13 & 7 year old daughters) just returned from a fantastic week in Atlantic Beach, thanks in part to Mr. Jellema's well appointed condo. Prior to finalizing plans with Mr. Jellema, we did extensive research on finding the best place for the best price before chosing this condo. Mr. Jellema responded quickly & professionally to our many questions. Upon arrival, we found the condo just as it was presented on his web site; the photos & listing were accurate. The condo is well cared for; it was clean, comfortable, very close to the beach & pool. There are updated appliances, very comfortable beds with linens, beach chairs & boogie boards; it's nice not to lug these! The bed was so comfortable that we slept late every morning despite the sun shining through the blinds (a window treatment would be helpful for room darkening but I nit pick). We loved having 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. We spent most of our time on the beach, a close walk along a very nice boardwalk with very nice outdoor showers for return trips back to condo & pool. The beach was beautiful and not crowded. We were disappointed to see the 3 trash cans at the beach entry not emptied daily as trash & broken beach paraphenalia piled up to an unsightly mess. The pool was more crowded and had a great slide that you use mats or tubes (which are plentiful). My only concern with the pool is that it is only supervised by an "attendant", not a Life Guard. This is a bit deceptive since the "attendants" wear the similiar red swim suits and twirl a whistle like your neighborhood life guard :=). With so many visitors to the pool throughout the summer, I am not sure why the condo development cuts corners here. Adult swim was scheduled in but attendant was not consistant about ensuring that all kids clear the pool. One night, we participated in a community pig pickin', a reasonably priced dinner that was served outside in the beautifully manicured courtyard area...very good pig! We also ventured into Beaufort, a pretty 15 min drive for touring & dinners. There is lots of history to explore and boats to gawk over. We also visited the Aquarium which can be done in 2 hours, perfect for my 7 year old who hates museums and tours. We also dragged her to Ft. Macon which was informative and had nice exhibits. As you can see, we had a very favorable experience with the condo, the condo property, and surrounding attractions; definitley a "re-do"!

We had a great time visiting the beach and staying here. The condo is clean, the beds are quality, the furniture is nice and plush, the kitchen is well equipped with quality appliances, the linens are nice, and there are bright new rocking chairs on the porch. The pool with its giant slide is a blast and you can leave your sandals in the condo because you're right on the beach. The condo is very accessible to all amenities and the complex is near the causeway, giving you close access to shopping, restaurants and local activities. Security monitors who comes and goes and it's quiet and nice for families. The grounds are immaculate and there are lots of activities in the complex. The staff was delightful. There's even a seafood vendor who stops by daily. You can't go wrong here and we would definitely return. What a nice place!

Our family stayed for a week in July. The accodomations were wonderful. Great family atmosphere. We enjoyed our week this year and look forward to return in 2011. The unit was clean, comfortable, and had everything we need within the complex. The Jellma family made our stay most pleasurable.

Myself, husband, daughter, son-in-law, and 2-year old grandson had a superb time at Atlantic Beach in this condo in June, 2010; it was extremely clean, well decorated, and the beds were more than confortable. It was nice to have a great location to the outdoor pool and the beach walkway (chairs, umbrellas, and boards were included). The amenities in the condo also included a nice selection of DVDs, books, games and magazines. It was also complimentary to have a washer/dryer & sweeper. The owners of this condo have taken a lot of pride in their beach house and sharing it with others is a plus. Anyone who rents this condo will enjoy their time and definitely leave knowning that they had a fun time in A Place at The Beach. It was also important to us having a two bedroom this year versus a one and one-half last year for more money. We will be back.

We arrived wanting some fun in the sun and relaxing time away from our everyday normal lives. We found your condo to not only be perfectly located but to also be exactly what we were looking for; very relaxing, extremely fun, outstanding amenities and the friendly staff all made that possible. Your condo was peaceful, well decorated and welcoming as well as being literally steps from the beach. It was exactly as it appears on the website. "A Place at the Beach" itself is located next to many local diners, parasailing and fun shops which made our stay that much better. Thank you again we will definitely be contacting you, year after year, for our future get-a-ways!!!

My family stayed at this condo over Memorial Day 2010. The condo was clean and had everything we needed and more! We were surprised to find nice beach chairs and all sorts of games and videos for the kids. The kids especially enjoyed the water slide and pool. We will definitely rent this condo again.

The description and location caught my attention for this rental directly on the beach; and the description was very accurate. It was exactly what I dreamed of. The photos were exactly what we saw when we arrived at the property; very beautiful. This unit was extremely well maintained, very clean, excellent access and everything we needed at our fingertips, just like home. I did have some questions and concerns going into this but the owner was very knowledgeable, able to answer all questions, and his input and communications were very kind and helpful. Would I recommend this property to a friend or relative? Certainly, even better, I would return for another week in a heartbeat. The property was located in a very family friendly, easy to maneuver area and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our time spend in this wonderful setting and property.
