Tropical Retreat, Jacuzzi, Wifi, Pets Ok, Cable!

  My boyfriend and I, along with two dogs, stayed at OB Tropics for the entire month of December. The listing and photos are absolutely accurate yet don't capture the true beauty of the gardens and front porch. The property was spotless and maintained exceptionally well. The owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed (including loaning us an awesome waffle maker) and were available to enhance our visit. Ocean Beach is a pleasure to stay in and centrally located for easy access to all the wonderful things you can enjoy in the San Diego area. You can quickly walk or bike to downtown Ocean Beach or to the dog beach or incredible Sunset Cliff trails. By car the access to I-8 or I-5 is effortless. Our dogs loved the dog beach; which made the dog bath both a necessity and a welcome luxury. The home is fully stocked with everything you'll need and very comfortable. We would certainly recommend this property and look forward to returning. In fact, if you are about to make reservations, we're jealous!

  Recently stayed with my sister, her two kids and our two dogs for a week's beach vacation. Definitely lived up to and exceeded expectations! The OB Tropics within this private, gated little compound was the perfect retreat for us. All the amenities and anything you think you need or may have forgotten provided. Laundry facility a particular highlight! Location perfect for walking to beach, proximity to corner market, coffee shop, and yummy dining choices. The owners were also delightfully friendly and truly interested in making it feel homey and comfortable. They added bikes for shared use between the bungalow and our cottage tenants the week we were down and keep the grounds lovely with fresh flowers and shady trees. The massage chair in the family room was a HUGE hit with all of us, as were the flat screen TV (with DirectTV), wifi, and very well-stocked kitchen for cooking our own meals without having to bring down our own pots and pans. Evenings on the patio were pleasantly cool and relatively quiet. It was also a blessing to be able to bring our dogs with us and with frequent walks and trips to the beach, take advantage of the dog bath in the shared patio area. The kids of course loved the jacuzzi and it was in very good working order. I can honestly recommend this tropical retreat for friends, families with children (and/or dogs) and hope to return myself some day. Thank you!

  This was a very nice condo, everything as pictured. One thing I think needs to be mentioned is that the bedrooms are connected, meaning you have to go through the first bedroom to enter the second. This was fine for us, but maybe a privacy issue for others. The condo had everything we needed, plenty of towels, games, well equipped kitchen. The place was cleaned nicely and the bed in the main bedroom was really comfy. The neighborhood was fantastic. The "downtown" of Ocean Beach was a short walk and there was a bus stop right on the corner with easy access to anywhere in San Diego.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, families with young children.

  Lovely welcome from owners and excellent contact with them. Good facilities available, making our stay very comfortable. Very characteristic cottage, with with oldy-worldy atmosphere. Ideal location, so close to the relaxing atmosphere of Ocean Beach, with all that has to offer. A huge bonus - fabulous massage chair. Thanks, guys!
